It's like a normal rank up, accept your common cards also get wiped. Anything else you don't lose on rank up, you also don't lose on prestige. Once you hit the prestige button, you'll start Meso anew, except your Mutagen and rare and epic cards stay, and you get a new epic card trait, which improves with every prestige

My rule of thumb is it would take 5 events getting in top 10 + a reasonable number of the 2 x 4-hourly rewards to get a 500k trait upgrade.

The fact that a lot new players are just frustrated with events is a sign they need to revamp how the divisions are set up. Joining late is a workaround that players on social media figured out to make the events playable, but it's not actually designed to work that way.

The set up now currently pushes people who are new and want to get all 3 badges to join early, and then they're playing for rank against the super-experienced players who want to GRIND..

Its certainly not obvious that to rank better, its best to start later.

I quite like the set up - it means I get 2.5-3 days 'off' c2s between events. And normally get top 10 (have 100 badges, mobile).

I also think that the distinction between badges and rank is not necessarily clear to new players. And some of the events are brutal if you don't pay attention to what things to buy in what order. Also, that little and often is incredibly helpful in events.

Don't know how I'd address it. Maybe tie division allocation to your Primary Sim level?

Knowing how to play efficiently (and having the time to do it) is much more important. For my playstyle anyway (want 3 badges and high rank with minimum calendar-time spent).
