I tried to do that, excluding badges, but when I do, I just mostly end up in the top 25. It’s rather joining on 200-300+ is when I get better rewards easier.
I would pull up an auto clicker, but I’m in iOS + auto clickers apps are just subscriptions for dumb reasons.

Is it the first time you've played the extinction event? Every time you finish an event, you get a 30% boost for he next time it comes up in the event cycle. Player's who've been around for a while end up with a huge boost.

There isn't much you can do about that, unfortunately. Joining events a day after they start helps. The divisions are first come first serve, so all the try hardest of players will already be squared away in the first day's divisions and you can compete with chiller players.

These are my current multipliers. Saving up for the cretacious Pearl sped me up loads. To save up for that I would use nanobots whenever the 30X click thing came around and click as much as I can. Takes a bit fo doing but once you get cretacious pearl it gets easier again (then gets harder again)

You can use logits to buy things that will help with megabit production. Capybara and giant squid are the usual suggestions. You buy them and it unlocks new research you can invest in to get your production up. I'd start with capybara, it's research is cheaper to buy.

Unfotunately, that means a little more focused play, but it's always been that way for the timed events.

Honestly, it's better... now players can actually sleep between events... 😆
New players do not necessarily finish their first event anyways, because they're still learning the game, and there's no guranteee that they'll join at the event start, but by the time their 2nd event comes around (2-3 days), they'll be much more experienced.
