Why is the big questions event impossible to complete without boosting? This is the fourth time I do the event. Did it twice without boosts at all, did not make to the second badge then. Once with 2x boost, also did not make it to second badge. Only the time I did it with 4x boost did I complete the event.

So how are we supposed to collect the rewards for the events now? The leaderboard only says "Rewards will be claimed at the end of the event". So does that happen automatically or do you have to be ingame during the hour when the current event ends and the next starts, in order to claim them manually?

Most of the events so far I've finished in 30 hrs at 4x boost, playing idle and collecting 2x offline earnings. Manual tapping when necessary and barely used nanobot autotap. So yeah, even playing full-time no boost is a tall order.

Pretty sure most idle games are intended to be played with some form of boost, typically as an ad reward. I've even played one before where the game dev even said it's part of the game balancing and design, and you'd be shooting yourself in the foot forgoing ad boosts.

Likely at next log-in, as most multiplayer games with seasonal events do. It'd be kinda unfair otherwise if you needed to be online/in-game for a limited time window.

The whole leaderboard is already pretty unfair, cause your rank is determined by how long you play. If you manage to end the event in 1 day for example and you are rank #1 by then and you don't touch the game again, you might very likely get nothing at all, cause until the very last second everyone can still overtake you. so I wouldn't be surprised at all if the devs just went the easy way and expect you to claim rewards right after the event or you won't get any.

I completed the event the first day, took breaks after because .. there is nothing left to do! So now I dropped in rank significantly. It’s such a garbage leaderboard.

I don’t plan to add anyone as friends in this game, it’s just an idle game. The only exception is if it’s a team/guild based leaderboard which this isnt. But that’s just me. I guess I can just hoard what little logics I get now for non-profile stuff.

Maybe you're confusing the words "end" and "finish"?
"Finishing/completing" the event quickly (i.e., 100%ing the research tree) does disadvantage you in the new leaderboard system, as you now need to be actively playing the 4 days of the event.
Regardless, the event "ends" after 4 days and players' progress should be locked. So about that last sentence, event rewards should be claimed after the event ends.

I get that, which is why I think it's unfair, cause in order to get any good rewards you're now forced to constantly play the game, which is pretty mean for a game that started as an idle game.
and the second thing is, it's still unclear if you get the rewards automatically or not. of course the progress should be locked after the event ends. but if the next event an hour later just overrides the last leaderboard, you'll get nothing.
and as they now try to force you to keep playing the game, I wouldn't be surprised, if you only have an hour to claim your rewards.

so an official answer would be nice. they promised and FAQ for this, but I can't find anywhere.

Like when you first start the event and you tap anywhere it only gives the infection not the Blue shield even though that's the first currency for the upgrade. It's not until you tap the note under the first generator that blue currency starts appearing

At least for me and I tapped everywhere and use nanobots I got scared because I thought I couldn't even get the first upgrade because I was only getting an infection LOL
