Oh, one thing I noticed is we're separated by divisions, you can see your division ID at the top of the leaderboard, yours is #666, the vague guy's is #5, mine is #34, so technically a bunch of us can be rank 166 and it's fine, it's just weird we keep seeing that number I guess

Honestly this update barely changed anything. It went from a PvP Deathmatch to a Battle Royale. There's more people, better rewards, but we're all still separated into groups and it's sounding like cheaters have barely been mitigated. Maybe fewer groups allows devs to more easily spot cheaters as they float to the top wayyy faster than everyone?

Doing as many tasks as possible is a good strategy. However, at one point, the last task will always be collect x amount of fossils, with x being a really huge number. It doesn't hurt to skip that one. Also, you will reach a point where upgrading common traits costs you more mutagen than you might get from a geode. Skip those tasks, too.

Restarting the simulation and getting augmentations which you get with event currency.

Also just using the speed increase.

You should buy mostly the generators that give you the most entropy
Buying capybara and giant squid should help you
Restart your simulation if your multiplier will be at least 1.5 times higher (so if you have a multiplier 5x, then you should reset when you have 7.5x at least)
And last important thing, it'll take time, so play it at your own pace

Oh there's also the boost, though I don't know on what platform you play, on mobile you should watch ads to get that boost and maintain it, if on PC, take it slow, not worth spending that much darwinium (or transfer your save temporarily to mobile, watch ads and transfer back)

Those three are permanently available and take some time (ok, maybe a very long time) to complete.

Additionally, there are events- smaller simulations concerning specific themes. Events only last a few days.

1 gen = 1 science point, regardless if gen cost 1e30 or 1e29

which kinda sucks if you think about it
as an example, consider
10x generator A costs 1e30, boosts production by 5e29/s
100x gen B also costs 1e30, but boosts prod only by 1e25/s
normally i'd never buy 100x gen B, since it'd be a waste of time considering old-style events were time-based
but now since gen B gives 10x more science points, it's something to think about

thankfully some events (like philosophy, deep sea) have nodes that boost lower-tier/earlier generators by massive amounts, allowing them to catch up to higher tier gens

Yeah but I don't use research boost so much. I thought initially that it boosts the research somehow but it actually was referring to the Research boost button that is activated with the cubes 🙂

||later on you'll encounter semi-mandatory research missions that are 48-72 hours
cutting that time down to 16-24 hrs with 3x boost is huge, even further down to 12-18 is massive||
