Due to it's higher orbit in, the velocity it needs to be able to orbit should be slower. Example: Earth goes around 1 orbit faster than mars or jupiter.

It also implies that you sleep either on the same bed as your dad or in some acoustic amplifying room cause there is no way that your dad should be that loud
Either way, what's clearly not normal here is the thunder and not your dad's snoring
Unless what you meant was that your dad's snoring was as loud as thunder
Which is not typically the case since there are multiple forms of thunder (Depending on the distance of the hearer to the lighting that produced it) with many "thunders" being much louder than the average snore
It could also be that you heard distant thunder that matched the same sort of "rumble" of snoring
