you want to save your mutagen for upgrades that help you in each restart

there's no point upgrading ankylosaurus when you have giganotasaurus for example

you're just wasting your resources.

If you upgrade a generator or a trait and your idle rate doesn't go up at all, then there's no point

the biggest helpers are the rare and epic ones because they never reset

and once you get to level 50, if you've got darwinium to spare you can buy the diamond geode for 100 cubes, right before you prestige

you'll get tons of cards and mutagen
