The main point is to explore something that isn't in the main simulation, but yes there are rewards. You can get up to 3 badges that contribute a 1% boost per badge to all simulation speeds, and 50 of a currency called logits that can be used to buy boosting items or cosmetic items

The rate of metabit production is determined by your rate of entropy and idea production. With each metabit you produce, the cost of the next metabit increases. So when you use the nanobots or the shooting star and generate a large amount of metabits very quicky, your rate of production will also quickly drop as a result

Ah I see. Well honestly I think you should save a healthy chunk of your mutagen. Upgrades start getting really expensive once you get past 9, and you'll ideally want to be able to upgrade your last 4 or so dinos as high as possible when you hit level 50 on prestige 10 to speed up the grind for 200 gigas

Plus your resets will go much faster if you upgrade your later dinos to 10 or so, so more mutagen is always better
