Why do I die instantly?

#1145381124667879515
Is it Unlimited Damage? That means you didn't disable the era shield - era still exists in infinity, so enemies still have all the benefits of era phase - including unlimited damage.
Is it a tiny number, like 0.1 or 0.01? These tend to be caused by enemies mimicking your modules. Either don't use, or 'secure' them.
Is it a really big number that shouldn't be there (such as 1e270 in forest easy)? Make sure you have Infinity Foundation in the BP.
Otherwise you'll take a big hit. Look at your BP, try improving it, maybe go to a lower region/difficulty? Keep in mind an enemy can mimic #REACTIVE modules like Reflect or Barrier, which can be fatal.

Why don't I kill anything anymore?

Infinity gives enemies an 'Infinity Shield', that reduces the damage they take by 1e50 (big number). This is likely more than you even do when starting in infinity, so expect to start out doing ~0 damage. This is what the module Infinity Attack is for.
Also, stick to Easy until you get better tools, as Inf Attack does nothing against shields.

Enemies can cast spells now?

They mimic modules. Some are helpful (to you), some are harmful (to you), some do absolutely nothing. Think carefully about what you use in your BP and how it might be used by the enemy.
Enemies mimic 1 module for each digit of your current infinity - 2 at INF 10, 3 at INF 100, 4 at INF 1000, etc.

What are fragments? What is their use?

Infinity enemies drop 1 fragment for each module it mimics, the fragment type is the mimicked module type. Fragments can be used to purchase infinity modules, as well as boost the Infinity Forge and Anvil. Contracts and various other factors affect Fragment gains, so be on the lookout!

Infinity Forge

A late infinity thing. If you're new to infinity, skip to the next question.
Eventually, after charging all the stones, you'll be able to access the Infinity Forge. The forge has two functions:
Using (blue) gems, you can reduce the cost (in blue resources) of upgrading every single module you have. This effectively raises the tier of all your modules.
Using fragments, you can raise the 'reforge tier' of the associated module colour (yellow fragments raise yellow reforge tiers). Reforge tier is the highest level you can reforge a module to.
Reforging is a feature where you can set (that is, specify) a specific module tier for a single module or all modules of a type. The minimum is 1, and the maximum is your reforge tier. At first, this will likely be lower than whatever your modules are currently at, but as you invest more fragments you'll be able to raise the reforge tier to higher than what your resources are able to achieve.

Anvil?

The anvil is a mid-infinity feature that allows the player to invest fragments into permanent town stats - damage (specific elements as well as basic), resistances (specific elements as well as basic), health, shield, resource multiplier, actives cooldown, tower range, and so on. The anvil grid is a map of these buffs as 'nodes', and the highlighted circle can be moved to a part of the grid to highlight some of these nodes. Spending fragments with these nodes highlighted will boost these nodes (and no others).
You can also 'lock' the circle, which will give a massive boost to whichever nodes were highlighted in the lock. This lasts until you move the circle, which is important because the nodes will slowly move about the grid on their own. Whatever you lock will stay locked even if the node leaves the circle afterwards.
If you're new to the anvil, invest a small amount of fragments into every node, then lock whatever you think is most useful. Perhaps resources, maybe damage factor.

How do I get/charge/use infinity stones?

Each stone drops in a particular region, and each requires infinity to get. It's somewhat random, so you won't get it immediately. Once gotten, the stone will begin to charge on its own.
Very very slowly.
The charge rate can be improved with exotic gems, which can get very costly, and it can be improved by getting more 'effective infinities' (AKA 'einfs'). There is a specific formula for this, but for convenience, keep in mind:
69k at insane
16k at nightmare
5k at impossible.
There are numbers for easy/medium/hard, but these are likely too high to be worth the time required.
Each stone has 3 regions associated with it. Your infinity record at a specific difficult contributes towards the einfs for that region. These records sum together.
Once an infinity stone is charged, you can use it at the infinity board. There's three kinds of use: 'use', which simply gives you the stated benefit, 'toggle', which gives you the benefit but prevents the stone from recharging until you end the toggle, and 'unlock', which gives you the stated benefit but once only.
Once a stone is used (or untoggled in the case of toggles), it begins to recharge as though you'd just got it for the first time. A stone being used for a toggle will not begin to recharge until you turn it off.

How do I get the exotic gems to pay for all of this?

A few ways.
If you don't have an exotic producer by now, divert some workers to asteroid automation and hope you get lucky, or craft one yourself. Alternatively, you can fight bosses (at the statue of cubos) for decent pools of exotic gems.
Once you get access to the Condense module, you can use this to get exotic gems quickly from tower testing.
Once you've charged the Water Infinity Element Stone, you can use its perk to complete a shipment, which can be a lucrative source of exotic gems (if your exotics multiplier is high enough, and if you have a short enough charge time - make sure to have 10,000 shipments and the two gem experiments done first).
Eventually, the shipyard will be the best way to get exotic gems by a wide margin.

Which infinity stone should I charge first?

Light, Water, or Universal.
It's hard to say for certain. Light if you're having trouble getting Wave Restart to work; Universal if Era isn't much of a problem for you; Water if you desperately need exotic gems.
Universal and Nature is a valuable combination for some 'late' blueprints, so nature should also be a high priority.

How do I get resources?

In infintiy phase, producers are no good. The most 'efficient' strategy is to reach a very high infinity in Heaven Medium and use an idle-producing blueprint with as many resource multipliers as you can get all at once (in other words: town perks, the universal infinity perk, museum power stones, artifacts, sea miles, asteroids, beacon, crates, contracts; anything else you can think of). Your idle producing blueprint should also have Magic Stone of Floof, for best results.
The other option is to build a blueprint 'designed to fail', with actives able to destroy enemies and progress waves even though the tower ultimately dies. These tend to be called 'SB' blueprints, and are popularly used in Chaos Impossible both to get a high inf and also to get a high resource idle.

Again this is all sourced from Woot and DF as quoted in the original part of the post, but split due to char limit :)

# vagrant iron # Infinity Forge A late infinity thing. If you're new to infinity, skip to the n...

On the anvil section of this, i think we should leave more tips on what to lock, which mostly depend on your blueprint, but in general: Pentalocks (for late infinity, although they could maybe work for mid inf too), module cd, i can see max health and shield being useful for some too, and although, you shouldn't really need to, you can also lock resource drops if you really have a problem with getting resources, or want to flex having an e110 idle

On How do i use infinity stones
I'm gonna assume these numbers are for instacharges, which, if it is, the actual numbers were
18638 in insane
7072 in nightmare
1797 in impossible
unless those are numbers for no exo gem upgrades, which i'm not sure about the actual values, so i will give you that
but, this is outdated. After the rework, infinities are now added multiplicatively, so, there's more efficient ways to do this

Also in "how do i get the exotic gems to pay for all of this?" Unless the prices were lowered and i didn't know, in which case i am sorry, fighting bosses barely gives enough exo gems for all of this, so a better idea is condense to then try instacharging water stone
And, btw, there's no need to get 10000 shipments, since every time you use the water stone it'll give you a shipment, so yes, although it is recommended (at least i recommend to) start farming shipments as soon as you get the shipyard, you can pretty much start using the water stone whenever, as long as you can charge it quick enough, which should be easy with the rework

In "which infinity stone should i charge first?"
Water, then afterwards maybe universal if you're struggling with resources, which generally shouldn't happen
Light isn't as important, mostly after the rework, as the only use that light stone has is for wave restart

And, finally, in how do i get resources, you spelled infinity wrong
for Chaos Impossible blueprints, imo it should be specified what kind of modules are used (usually being stuff like Immortal shield, etc)

sorry for being so direct, i had literally 2 characters to spare

also btw, i hadn't looked at the main message. Since i had already wrote the one for rak's message here, i'll write this one here too
(Why do i die instantly) Numbers like 0.1 or 0.01 are caused by instakills like wince (please specify this)

(Why don't i kill anything anymore?) Infinity attack is one of the worst modules for starting infinity, not because it is bad, but because there's just better options, like Toxic Piranha Ivy or WINCE

(What are fragments? What is their use?) legendary modules give 0.25 fragments of all types, which isn't said, but might be neglectable, regardless, more importantly, contracts only affect fragment gain after mt13, and costs exotic gems, due to how little people actually read on tpt2, please specify this
also, it is only contracts and Twin Singularity that increases them, so yeah, there's not really that many for the word various to be used, but this part is just my opinion soo
