Character Concept: Ace Cyanide 🦨

After more than half a year in the backburner of my brain, multiple reworks, and all that crap, finally decided to bring into fruition some of my ideas for a FvF character.

Meet Ace: A stout, scruffy brawler that can't seem to keep his nose clean from trouble. They're vulgar and crass, yet with a heart of gold... kinda.

Their personality card is lil' Stinker; which mixes both ninja smoke and toxic bomb together, giving them a hotcard each round that brings both utility, mobility, and situational offense. In addition, It allows Ace to negate the effects of poison when invisible.

3d modelling can be intimidating for a beginner I had a year and a half of blender going into modelling my own character and even then it was difficult for me

Now granted, the former looked like absolute ass, but I think with Demonic's documentation and not rushing the process, I'll be able to do something decent

I like this idea, however, would having ninja smoke each round be a tad overtuned? Ninja smoke is such a versatile card that allows players to reposition, retreat, or take an aggressive approach. Having that each round sounds really powerful, on top of the toxic smoke idea (which I think is creative!) This card is already versatile, but being able to deal sudden AoE damage that controls an area of the map, whilst repositioning to a better angle every round sounds really, really good. Is there a better way to balance this idea while keeping the personality intact?

I feel like keeping the numbers humble is more than enough

lvl 1 ninja smoke is:

Invisible; +20% movement speed for 3 seconds
1m radius, 8 seconds*
-# *afaik. I never have measure it.

lvl 1 toxic smoke is:

1.4m radius, 10 seconds
5hp ticks

Since the poison cloud part is a minor secondary thing, how about keeping it around 3hp ticks for 6 seconds; while keeping the invisible element as a lvl 1 ninja smoke? (1m radius, +20% for 3 seconds)

Hmm... it does sounds a bit like a strange suggestion and i'm not sure where is it coming from. Not saying it's a bad idea, but I feel it's kinda hard for me to visualize, especially since Ace's a street bruiser

It does give me a cool idea tho: what if they lost fingers in the past, but they got reattached? All I had to do regarding that would be adding some scars right at the base of the fingers

I was thinking of some small/medium size central room with two parallel catwalks and a central platform, that hangs above the water (making it a falling hazard). On opposite sides of the room there's U-shaped canal tunnels that serves as spawn and retreat points.

So pretty much that one sewer zone where you fight Poison jam in JSR1

I can't see how is exactly bad for Sable, since going from one side to the other should be pretty fast, and there is cover points in the middle to not be gunned down immediately

Also, I don't want tunnels to be DbD ass infinite loops, so I plan to put debris and choke points for ppl to not mindlessly run around them

Like, the U-shaped canals are mostly a place to spawn safely before bringing the action to the middle room, and I want to make them kinda punishing to camp there by making them choke points where you can get cornered if you're not going forward

I do want to put some big, oozing pipes there to fill the walls there, but only aesthetically

I also want to see if I can break the railing in the middle and make the fall a bit higher to make it clear is a falling hazard :]

Camera drifts, Vision Wobbles, and player moves side to side. (Similar effects to drinking Grog in Sea of Thieves.)

When you play cards during that round, they'll be displayed on the opponents feed as ink covered cards. On max level, the card sound cues also change to ink splats.

😜 Taunt (2) (Trap) Rare
"Go ahead, keep playing that!"

Triggers when any card is played.
Cards that don't match the trigger's color type gets blocked for 10/12/14 seconds.

💥 Chemical cloud bomb (1) (Helper) Common
"Throw a chemical cloud bomb."

Make a explosive cloud that last 10/10/12.5/15 seconds in a 1.3/1.4/1.5/1.5 radius. The cloud doesn't block visibility but it tints your vision yellow. Upon contact with an explosive or fire, the area covered by the cloud detonates, dealing 70/70/85/85 damage.

"Garbage heals you"

Using a garbage card heals you 5/7/9/10 hp.

I've seen a lot of them are usually related to the content that was released with the battle, but not always so I tried to make a mix between em.

Broken Legs, Still kickin': Use Double Jump after the enemy uses No Jump X times.
On the Rocks: Use Booze and Less accuracy in the same round X times.
The smell of Cyanide in the morning: Use Venom Eater while playing with Ace X times.
It's a secret!: Use Inked Cards X times.

Dumpster Delicacy: Heal X hp from Garbage while using Trash Eater.
Got a Light?: Ignite a Chemical cloud X times.
Now you see me...: Become invisible for X seconds.
I don't need my eyes: Deal damage to an invisible rival X times.
Skill Issue lol: Kill an Enemy while Taunt is active X times.

Borrowed Time: Win a round on 0 health while Painkillers is active X times.
I don't have all day: Win a round in less than X seconds.
Is that all you got!?: Win a round after taking X or more damage.
Twelve Shots: Win a round without reloading X times.

Poison comes in small flasks: Play X games with Ace Cyanide.

Typing them, discarding/modyfing the ones that didn't work to well, maybe recording some samples myself for reference
but the final product is gonna be commisioned to a VA friend I know

Sounds fun. I think either a New York or Chigago accent would go great with Ace. I will try and use a voice mod on mine. Don't know how well it will work out though.

Yea, been realizing that while working on the 3D reference
The only conscious design choice i'm taking that's different from the regular models is the mouth, by being 'decal-like' instead of modeling in the model 'directly'
