Slapshot Rebound Global Update

Hi, can you make it a .txt so it can be embedded by Discord? 😄

Hey there! My name is Vlad my nickname is platonic_sign2. I've been familiar with the game slapshot rebound for quite a long time, it is one of the best hockey games on PC. In slapshot there are a lot of different game modes and esports championships. Competing in esports championships is great, but there is one minus. To take part in them it is required to constantly adjust all team members to the dates and times of matches. Given that many players have things to do in real life, participation in esports championships becomes not real. But I'm sure that most players still want to experience the spirit of competition, struggle, and team play. That's why I have a proposal. I propose the creation of Club Championships.

#

Club Championships for Slapshot is a huge innovation that will increase interest in the game significantly. What is the point of this idea? It's quite simple. Club Championships is a new game mode where players can create their own teams or join existing ones. Let me explain how it works.
A player can create their own team or join an existing one from the list of clubs. When creating a club, the player will have the following options:

  1. Name their club
  2. Add a description of the club
  3. Specify the region of the club (Asia, Europe, America, or Oceania) where the club will participate.
  4. Specify the club's country
  5. Create the club's emblem, with the option to choose from standard universal logos and the ability to add your own unique team logo downloaded from the internet, for example
  6. Select the team's primary colors (3 colors), which will be used to color the players' uniforms, the stands, and the match scoreboard
#
  1. Create the team's equipment. You will have the opportunity to create 3 sets (home, away, and reserve). Using the colors chosen for the team, you can customize the helmet, goalkeeper's helmet, jersey, gloves, and other uniforms. It is also worth adding options for uniform design, including standard designs and custom designs for donations. Players can only use standard hockey equipment in team colors for club matches to maintain the authenticity of the hockey club. To diversify the appearance of the players, I suggest adding a department to the store that sells club uniforms, where you can purchase various accessories for club matches, such as hats, goalkeeper pads, gloves, and other accessories in the team's colors.
  2. Availability of the club chat
  3. The ability to set a player limit for a club and choose whether the club is open or closed.
  4. The ability to choose team captain, assistants, and goalkeepers.
  5. The ability to view the statistics of the club's players. The number of matches played, the number of points scored, the percentage of saves made by the goalkeeper, and so on.
#

I will simply tell you how the championships work. Each region will have its own divisions. For example, when a club is created in the European region, it will start in the lowest division and work its way up to the top. Promotions and relegations between divisions will occur once a week. Rewards will be given for promotions in the division. Club matches will be played in a new mode called Club Matchmaking. Club matchmaking is a mode in which a player who is a member of a club can participate, provided that they have a full team of club members according to the game format. If a player is not a member of a club or does not have enough club members to play, club matchmaking will not be available. The game format is 4v4, with 3 periods of 3 minutes each, with a 30-second break between each period, and a 1-minute warm-up at the beginning of the match. If the game ends in a draw, an overtime period will be played. Opponent teams will be selected randomly. A win is worth 2 points, a loss is worth 0 points, and a loss in overtime is worth 1 point. All statistics of wins, losses, goals scored, goals conceded, and points earned will be recorded in the team's statistics, which can be viewed in the division table. To be promoted, teams must secure top positions in the division. There is no limit to the number of matches a team can play per week. The team with the most points at the end of the week will be promoted.
Thank you for reading my proposal. I hope you consider my idea. Good luck!

interesting idea. BUT I think a simpler implementation of EUSL/SPL/etc. so generally speaking of official league teams would be a game changer. Like an extra tab with your current team, tables, next matches (maybe universal availability bot that links discord with slapshot or smth)

linking A and B teams together for example.

Like fifa clubs stuff. You see who is online and can easily q together

#

At least a bit more implementation of the leagues with the main game could drive more players to the leagues and also to the game. I feel for a new player it’s too “disconnected”

Thanks for the suggestions 😄 I like the idea of having clubs and I've wanted to add those for a while; the club matchmaking would probabyl not work with the current player base size though

#

Btw. Any upcoming news/suggestions for getting the playerbase up again? Social media + Steam gotta be the deciding factor on that right?

topaz mulch
#

Yeah we're on the lookout for a new social media manager

sharp tulip
#

Ah nice. I remember getting the game first when it was showcased on Steam back in 2021-2022 or smth. What are the criteria of Steam showcasing games?

#

is it release date? Current players or a rise in playerbase

topaz mulch
#

Mostly revenue. If a game makes more money, Steam promotes it more (because then they make more money). We also have visibility rounds but they nerfed them a lot; they only show to existing players now instead of potential new players. We used it for Season 3 but it didn't do much unfortunately.

Okay interesting. Also a lot of my friends got the game cause they searched for free2play, coop, competetive. Are tags deciding factors? As coop isn’t in the list of tags for the game anymore

#

(Or at least for me when I look at the game info/tags)

topaz mulch
#

It should be 😄

Okay🙌

#

Interesting topic for me cause I work in advertisement sales (whole different branch and direction) but still interesting 😄

Once we figure out a positive ROI on CPC we'll have infinite players 🤣

The holy grail

#

what happened in june2023 for the game to have such a high peak?

#

just remember xQc and some other guy making a video. But unsure if that caused the spike

topaz mulch
#

Bunch of things happening at once. XQC alone didn't do much, but it triggered some other streamer groups to play too that combined were a lot bigger (and with a better suited community for Slapshot)

#

If we're able to get to that point again and stay there, we could do so many cool things with the game

Thank you for appreciating my proposal, Erveon, but I have a question. If the development team decided to implement my idea with clubs in the game, how would it work without club matchmaking?

Got it, thanks for the feedback.

If you really do update the clubs related stuff I will be very happy if you use my ideas related to features

@topaz mulch this is a great suggestion. I do think he is on to something, I think a good focus would be encouraging team play with a club addition, but since game is not big, I think its smarter to keep it in pubs and not a separate game mode. Here is below a sketch of an idea similar to this post that I've worked on in the past

Possible Club Features:

  • Team Name
  • Team Abbreviation
  • Team Colors (primary, secondary, accent)
  • Select preset team logos and custom colors on it.
  • Maker of team is captain, and only person with power, everyone else is a player (max 4 players in a club)
  • jerseys are based on preset logo and colors.
  • track statistics for team and members in it
  • when you qeueue with 3 players in the club, in public matches, team abbreviation and color will show in scoreboard, tab scoreboard, and maybe even arena (colors just favorite the home team in arena) if its a home game for the club.
  • cost pux to create a team (one time payment similar to a battlepass)

^^ basically a realistic TLDR of clubs for slapshot IMO based on what is possible with current playerbase size in mind

Yes what milk said is exactly how I see it too. Not sure about it having to cost something to make a team, but we do want to monetize it somehow in a fair way

10$ in pux to make a team
