i’m able to backfill into gold games but when my tm8 leaves i never get a backfill

30 mins is crazy
Maybe 5 mins for two, then gradually increase as the leave rate increases
maybe it's just bad luck but it seems like most backfills are much higher rank than the players they backfilled for. going up 2-0 in a minute and losing 6-2 is a tad frustrating
i think when that happens, you gain/lose mmr based on the original matchup (doesn't account for the backfilled player)
so if it's based on the original matchup, if a gold team originally plays a silver team but they leave and are backfilled by plats and the gold team loses, wouldn't that mean the gold team loses more mmr cuz it appears they lost go a team of silvers? Or is it the other way around?

aren't you like a whole ass dev? you have game data that we don't have??? why would a poll hidden in a feedback comment answered by 20 random people decide this for you???????? Decide the reason why you want matchmaking, make hypotheses based on the desired outcome, establish methodology and tests that you can run with data we don't have to validate or invalidate your hypothesis and decide from there? or publish your findings if you're not sure of the conclusion and then make a poll

Silly me, I shouldn't be interacting with the community and throwing out a feeler for how people think about an idea in a forum where I take and look at direct feedback provided by the community. I should hide away and solely rely on easy to misinterpret soulless data because only I know what people want.
This is probably the single dumbest thing someone's attacked me for in a while lmao. Who's saying I'm not using data as well as gauging sentiment? There is literally no harm in seeing what people want in a feedback thread specifically about this matter
If you want some soulless corporate heads to decide on how a game evolves solely based on data that would improve their goals rather than ask any of their players, go play an EA game or something

Done this for next update. Backfill will be capped to players within 100 rating of the average rating in the match

Before, the matchmaker would take any player whose search radius overlapped with the average rating of the match. This would disproportionally backfill higher rated players because they usually sit in queue longer (and have a much larger search radius because of it). This also avoids higher rated players being in queue for a while and only finding backfill games. It'll keep them in queue now and try to put together that higher rated match.
