lollll
this chat is dedicated for flag nerds
i feel like this thread will be quite short lived
anyway, this is the other flag I designed
this one is actually sick
I like the colour combo and the distribution of stars
what does it represent
I also have this variant
it's for a song of mine that I never released cause i didn't have a good cover art for it
so I was in this flag obsession phase and thought "maybe i can just use a flag for the album art"
of course I never actually used it 🥲
but it's the general idea of what kind of album art i wanted for the song, just flag-ified
it's literally just a starry sky
the yellow part is supposed to be the ground, it being slanted and with the blue stripe it's just cause it looked cooler this way
ohh, sad story..
it is a good flag tho
but if I think about it the "OEC" flag, I never imagined a circular flag
the stars are in the formation of the leo constellation, chosen because i was born under it (i'm technically virgo, but traditional astrology doesn't account for the amount of precession that happened in the last 2000 years so the sun is actually in the leo constellation at that time of year)
also, how did you draw this. they look very good. pole and simulation of air waving the flag
sizes are actually adjusted for the brightness of the starts in those constellations
ohh, so that is interesting so that's why you have a big star with red in it. that's a deep thinking
and the biggest one has a red circle inside of it cause the song has quite the weeb sound to it LOL
ohh lol
flag chat let's gooooo
i drew the flag in inkscape (a free vector graphics program)

the whole pole and air waving simulation thing is a website https://krikienoid.github.io/flagwaver/
ohh, thanks
they added a bunch of extra options since last time I visited
they have different pole types now
yea, thanks mate
I'll be designing flags too, very soon
maybe loona flags
also about the [+ +] photobook you were talking about
hey con, how about you pin that as I don't have the access
yeah?
thank you
No worries!
🏳️🌈
yeah, what about it
how different was it, do you have the image
the orbit logo
oh it didn't have the orbit logo, just the shapes
lemme take some pics from my album
nevermind, I misremembered
it was actually the orbit 1.0 photobook, but I can't find it—I might have given it away
basically the pics of the members were separated on a unit basis by blank pages with the shapes of the unit that would come next in the photobook
ohh, it's fine
so, to make this chat more interesting. I will post FLAG OF THE DAY selected by me : )
FLAG OF THE DAY - Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth flag (1605 - 1795)
this flag has more than 4 sides, rarest designs in modern day flags.
only country with more than 4 sides in their flag at present is Nepal 🇳🇵
that is a dope flag
yea
I've seen many flags of that period with the extended triangles, I'm not sure about the purpose of it but I believe it has to do with the better flag visibility with wind
now, this flag design is not seen
yeah honestly it just probably looked cooler too
but its now easier to mass produce flags with 4 sides
oh yea, actually mass production could have actually effected the design of the flags during the early stages of industrial revolution
I tried to find flags that aren't quadrilateral and funnily I found Ohio flag has 5 sides
only in Ohio
lmaoooo
flag of Ohio
yeah Ohio flag super weird
i was watching a video yesterday and apparently they dunked on it even back when it was originally designed
I think this is the funniest part
It shall have three red and two white horizontal stripes that represent the roads and waterways of the state
I could've never guessed
also it being burgee-shaped it was mostly used in the "maritime flags"
According to vexillologist Whitney Smith, it may be loosely based upon cavalry flags of the Civil War and Spanish–American War.
this was written in wikipedia
the reason behind the burgee shape
Orbit logo flag
ohio
tennessee

the Liberian county flags are a whole treat
what we got here, a couple floating trees and a peeing one
something I would draw in primary school
**FLAG OF THE DAY **- Hungarian Soviet Republic (March - August 1919)
now THIS is a giant red flag || 🚩
||

that's same energy as the old all-green Libya flag
or the all-black Afghanistan one I think?
yep, these three flags are the solid colour flags
beside France in war always waving white flag
such creativity
what a flag
i feel there must be a solid blue flag somewhere
send em lad
they're too manyyyy
Each modern Japanese prefecture has a unique flag, most often a bicolour geometric highly stylised design (mon), often incorporating the letters of Japanese writing system and resembling minimalistic company logos. A distinct feature of these flags is that they use a palette of colours not usually found in flags, including orange, purple, aquama...
oh yea
these flags
they remind me of the game opening screen
their design is not disturbing, very subtle
i love both links
ohh, I can see the red and white canadian 🇨🇦 colours but what's the relation with cowboy hat lol
Canadian provinces have good flags but union jack ruins it all
except maybe... new brunswick which used the lion instead
alberta (where calgary is) is the texas of canada
have you seen the franco-canadian flags
no no
there are french-speaking communities in other provinces that aren't quebec and they have banger flags
ohh, any link you can share
The Department of Canadian Heritage lays out protocol guidelines for the display of flags, including an order of precedence; these instructions are only conventional, however, and are generally intended to show respect for what are considered important symbols of the state or institutions. The sovereign's personal standard is supreme in the orde...
this is a funny thing to know
very elegant
it's like
-very conservative
-lots of farmland
really, I never heard of that from my mates
I have some mates in Calgary and Edmonton
that's so yk.. eye opening
lol, what happened here
Flag of Tibetan empire (7th century)
7th century? were people even using flags back then?
that's the oldest flag I've come across
I'm pretty sure flags were used even before that
I searched up and realised vikings age was 8th-11th centure. so this is even older!
flags got their start on ships, so it makes sense that you'd find the oldest ones among seafaring peoples
but Tibet is landlocked 🤔
actually, we have a tibetan market in our city every winters so I was curious about the history and saw this flag on the wikipedia page
oh it's a standard
ahh yeah
Northumbria flag (dated C7th)
A banner of purple and gold which hung over the tomb of St Oswald. the 7th century king of the Anglo Saxon kingdom Northumbria.
The purple may have become red over time owing to the availability of expensive purple dyes, or the fading of dyes. This registration of the Northumbria provincial flag has opted for a shade of carmine red to balance both versions as well as differentiate the design from similar red and yellow striped flags.
I believe it's oldest flag from England
Gadsden flag (adopted in 1775) used in American revolution that has led to ideas of individualism and liberty
recently it has been adopted by many far right organisations that has led for a lot of people to stop use this flag
still you can get customised license plate with this template in many states
Can we also comment about flags or just share them?
you can comment and chat about flags here
what's yall's favourite state flag
coat of arms have better and more detailed designs tbh
flags have like "rules" that can make it same or generic
US state flags
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flags_of_the_U.S._states_and_territories#Current_state_flags
The flags of the U.S. states, territories, and the District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.) exhibit a variety of regional influences and local histories, as well as different styles and design principles. Modern U.S. state flags date from the turn of the 20th century, when states considered distinctive symbols for the 1893 World's Columbian Expos...
these flags are better than you would expect from america
Ngl, I feel the Hawaiian flag is everything but "an American state" with that union jack
These are the coat of arms from my country
canton of another country on a flag makes it ugly imo
I like the drawing style on baja california
but Hidalgo looks like it has wings..
and it's pretty
but it's flags on flags
Now some states want to implement flags, this is Jalisco's, it's gaining popularity among independentists
Looks like a Canary Islands flag imo
it still has the coat of arms in the centre
It's a good color pallet, but the coats are officially "new"
The coat for my state has been in use only 30 years
However, nothing beats Japan's prefectures
philippine provincial flags are great because, with few exceptions, they're all seals on bedsheets
I never seen them
they're loved a lot
their simplistic design and good contrast in colours makes it so good
Plus many of them are based on their hiragana or kanji characters
Like Mie prefecture
みえ and you can see the logo looks like "Mi み"
Same with Miyagi
Tokushima is for the hiragana characters と (to) and く(ku)
And it also emulates a flying bird
Here's a full video explaining each flag

oh thanks
olympicmew shared the japanese prefectures as well
some of them reminds me of video games start screen
just got to know hawaii was never english colony 😭
Makes even less sense
I saw some states changing their flags, hope Hawaii chage theirs with something more "Hawaiian" bc their flag imo is lacking color
I heard that the union jack is there bcs when the brits came there, the monarch of hawaii just liked the design of union jack
there is actually one, modern one being used unofficially
this one
I like it, idk what the coat in the center means but looks pretty
I thought the same about the colors, they reminded me the Zambia flag idk why
it's got a funny story to it
basically it's derived from the original kingdom of Hawaii flag, the king made them put an union jack on it even if they had nothing to do with the UK in hope that would win them the graces of the Brits
thankfully they totally ignored it and didn't think they wanted to be conquered lol ||the Americans took care of that||
or maybe he just thought that's what flags are supposed to look like cause all they'd seen was flags with union jacks
speaking of administrative division flags
Italian regions are a bit of a mishmash
some have actual flags, but other have thought they needed a seal or a logo 🤦♂️
so some of them do end up looking like seals on a bedsheet
especially that of my own region https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lazio_Flag.svg
the color choice on the background is especially painful
meanwhile Sicily got a badass flag https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sicilian_Flag.svg
it's the only Italian region where apple bothered to add the corresponding emoji in their font for a reason
no ok i lied, even they don't have it
i could swear i had seen in at least one emoji font
(and yes, the emoji spec has a way to encode flag emojis for any administrative division with an ISO code, but no one bothers to add them to their fonts aside from the UK regions 🏴🏴🏴 and Texas because murica i guess)
(tbh it's kinda sad that something that was originally made in Japan has become so Anglosphere-centric now)
Wow, I didn't know that, I can't imagine the Hawaiians under British mandate
Looks nice, now I understand why their team wears blue
Is this the one similar to Isle of Man?
yeah similar symbol but they have different origins
All this time I thought the Ecuadorian flag had an eagle, turns out it's a condor
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Ecuador.svg
also flagception
you maybe confused it with Isle of man 🇮🇲
nono
oh ok
Venezuela, Ecuador, and Colombia with similar colours
The flag of Gran Colombia was based on Francisco de Miranda's tricolour, which served as the national flag of the First Republic of Venezuela. The general design of the Gran Colombian flag later served as the model for the current flags of Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela, which emerged as independent nations at the breakup of Gran Colombia in 1...
i remember where I've seen it now
it wasn't a font, but a website that had a bunch of flags in different file formats
can't remember the url thoooo
ahhh I see
yea this
I honestly don't know the reason they have more yellow
otherwise the stripes are of same width
in Colombian and Ecuador flag
Bronze flag Derafsh Shahdad found in Shahdad, Iran, third millennium BC
was searching about history of flags and this was in wikipedia
woahh cool
I have a question, how would you define or differentiate between a standard and a flag
not an expert, but my gut feeling is that standards are usually hung down a horizontal bar, with that bar itself hanging on a vertical pole, and carried around
ohh, so like the ones used in wars in mideival period
i find it pretty cute if you ask me
i can't unsee it as the apartheid era flag tho, that's less cute
but there's smushed 3 different flags together in the centre lol
they look more like pins at that sizeeee
The pan-Slavic colours (or colors) — red, blue and white — were defined by the Prague Slavic Congress, 1848, based on the flag of Russia, which was introduced in the late 17th century. The tricolor flag of Russia was itself inspired by the flag of the Netherlands. Historically, many Slavic nations and states adopted flags and other national symb...
British, Boers, and I don't remember the other ones
Nordic flags are among my favorite flags, I like how all included Saint Olaf cross
it's combination of this
the other Nordic flags inspired by the Danish flag
it's not surprising you can see some similarities in flags with neighbours
This bring me memories. The first flag book I ever read (it was an atlas) had this flag. It was a pretty old book since Zaire still existed, but it woke my love for flags
pog
Is that an insult?
EU flag barcode
Flag of Kazakhstan is one my fav country flag
Central Asia flags in each other style, found on reddit
Idk in you guys' countries, but in my country we have a day to commemorate our flag. Elementary school kids usually recreate each different flag we had through history and sometimes each classroom would have a contest to see who has the prettiest and most accurate flag (the award being extea points or extra recess time)
ohh, that sounds cool
I think during Republic day or independence day the schools usually hold these events
also thinking about it, Mexico flag would be so hard to recreate by drawing
Well, the thing is to do the current flag there's a trick
Most coins at the back have the coat of arms
So, you put your paper on top of the coin and trace it
ohh, like this
this is great, my dad likes to collect different currencies
he would like it
Yes! My lovely ten pesos
that makes more sense, making this out of memory would be nightmare
Just the brave ones would do it from scratch lol
Really? I had a collection in my country, but since I can't go back it's lost over there. It was mostly central American currencies but it was cool anyways. It was my grandpa's but let's say it was mine
oh sad... you can start collecting again~
I like the vertical notes a lot lol, they're just new to me
tho mexican currency is great, I heard mexican bank notes win the best award
oh yeah, 2021 was won by 50 pesos note and 2020 was won by 100 pesos
both vertical wow
Idk how to start if I'm honest, I'd love to have some currencies just for fun, but collecting loona is already making my wallet cry
You mean these ones right?
ah yes, these ones
International Bank Note Society; a non-profit educational organization aiming to promote, stimulate, and advance the study and knowledge of worldwide banknotes and paper currencies.
check this
this is great, the colour and everything
100 pesos always have the same colors no matter the design, I'm glad they added the monarch butterfly, such an underrated part of our wildlife, in my opinion is prettier than the 50 pesos
In 2010 it was the 200th indepence anniversary and 100th revolution anniversary, so la casa de la moneda released these special edition
And the 5 pesos coins had the heroes faces on them
I see, but I'm confused what does hero and heroine mean here
ofc it's not movie heroes, it cannot be
so many different coins for 5 pesos, it would be confusing I mean someone can use fake coin and pretend that it's real 😭
What in the US would be considered "the founding fathers", some of them, others were the revolutionaries
ohh, that is great
most of the countries uses pictures of their monarchs or founding fathers
I like the idea of using faces on coins more than bank notes
In some bills we even had poems. She was originally in the 200 pesos. She's the most famous female poet in Mexico history, and the old 200 bill included a poem of her in the back
It's better than the boring $1 $2 and $5 tbh and since all have different sizes you couldn't get confused
also, what is the material of pesos. is it made of plastic/fibre or boring paper
oh, I see yeah I searched her up and it said mexican poet
can't imagine all the coins being same sized 💀
It's plastic. The only ones made with paper are the really old ones. However, the 200 special was made out of both paper and plastic
This part circled was plastic. In order to know if a bill was fake or not, the shells inside the plastic needed to move
oh ok, I've had canadian and Australian dollars both made of plastic... tbh they feel better and looks studier but the American dollars just were boring
Whenever I have dollars in my hands I feel how easily would be to ripp them apart 💀
paper money should be a past.... time to switch to synthetic polymer
right and you can just crumple them so easily
time to make fireproof and waterproof money
I just find a $2 bill with a bison, is it even real? It's says special edition
This one
gotta search on google
Looks really pretty even if it's fake
I ended up on same site as you
is there no govt site that provides info of all the bills throughout history
there's no other way to verify
I just found an old coin collectors forum explaining this
oh so the US govt did not print them
They printed the bills, no the decorations basically
What a shame, it looked really pretty
It reminded of the fake bills in my country that you would fine in a cheap toy store. They would print wrestlers, cartoons, football players, etc so they would look like a toy
tbf, fake bills can be an interesting thing to collect too
or some bills that are misprinted
monopoly currency
I watched one on a tv show
like this

The Kim Lip album with Everyday I love you lyrics be like:
It's quick incredible that a bill like that went into the public as he said, are misprints common with us dollars?
I'm not sure but if the misprints were common I think that bill would have priced a bit lowere
it has to be very rare to price high
Thinking about flags with animals
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Dominica_(1978–1981).svg
catching up to some discussion
- i don't recall Italy having a commemorative day for our flag *double checks on wiki* oh it's supposed to be January 7, but i don't remember ever doing anything related to it in school. it was probably overshadowed by the Holocaust remembrance day on January 27, for which I remember we'd always prepare something even weeks in advance especially in elementary and middle school
- the talk about banknotes with faces reminded me of the pre-euro Italian banknotes, especially the 1000 lire one (nominally worth 0.51€) https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lire_1000_(Maria_Montessori).jpg
I checked the italian liras and they looked more pretty than euros imo
flag with the most purple in it
6% purple I read somewhere
I believe there's only 1 more flag with purple on it
talking about flags with animal, nothing beats the Welsh flag 🏴
the fact that their national animal is literally welsh dragon 😭
same with Scotland, their national animal is unicorn
I didn't know you could name it after mythical creatures
I personally like the swiss franc a lot, great that they have their own currency, well I'm a sucker for vertical bank notes
Nicaragua, it has a rainbow with purple on it
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Nicaragua_(1924).svg
Is this even possible?💀
ah yeah, such a tiny bit
They're really colorful, the hand signs is definitely a creative design
it is 😭
and colourful
I've never seen that type of designs, I wonder why they chose to use hand signs
I got a new thing to follow, passport designs 😭
I just noticed the one Yves had and now Korea has redesigned it
new one looks cleaner for sure
and I got to know all the members of le sserafim have different passports
Only chaewon and eunchae would hold the korean one right? Since kura and zuha are japanese and yunjin has double citizenship?
Have you seen the front design of central American passports?💀
chaewon uses the old green passport, eunchae has blue one. yunjin has american passport, sakura has normal japanese passport, and kazuha has navy passport(validiity of 5years only)
no...
I prefer this one, the design in the middle makes it look more serious
I actually liked the cyprus passport a lot it was pink, also how it varies from normal people to govt officials
Try and look comparing the Guatemalan and salvadorean passports, a unique design
this is the cypriot passport, I never thought of seeing pink passport
they both got map of central america with their country shaded on it
I also like the white and gold design of Indian official passport
Yes, I find it interesting since usually the passports with the country contour would have the map alone, but it's understandable since some of them are too small(?
hmmm, I don't think it being too small is a problem. maybe it is to show central american union
but I'm not sure how friendly the relations are among them
Me either, but still a unique design imo. I think there's also black passports, India has it(? I'm not entirely sure if it's them
Oh no, it's New Zealand
the passports differ, there are generally 3 types of passports in a country
the normal passport for citizens, the govt officials and probably the different one for country representative
now that is unique
Tintin is such an icon in Belgium
I checked my passport and turns out we have the coat of arms from each state in every page
One page per state
oh wow, designs make it unique
attention to detail
I don't think I have any design on mine
i lost my passport on the way back from the loona concert 😭 can't look at it
isn't this turning into a geography channel? maybe we should rename it 😃
yea... we just talk about different geo-political designs
flags and friends
you're right, maybe we need to change the name
sure
i will map-post
idk what could be the most accurate name for it
could be like flags and other designs..
Are maps and other geographic stuff welcome too?
well, all the suggestions are welcomed
I was gonna name it something like... geopolitical designs
but I'm not sure how correct the terminology is here
Meanwhile, here's the unique color of Tuvalu's passport
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cover_of_Tuvaluan_Passport.jpg#mw-jump-to-license
same as their flag
https://www.google.com/amp/s/thetravelintern.com/coolest-passports-around-the-world/
I found this article, and I think my favorite one is the Canadian one
these are all great and they seem to have a theme. tho the Australian one was very odd...
in a good way
ok but hear me out
what are your thoughts on these proposed designs
ngl, I like them more
I like the first one since it keeps the typical passport frame but with a unique design that differentiates it from any other
I think the second one would look better as a passport cover than an actual one
yea, it's like a poster
And I love that they include the flag on the third one, but I don't think it'll look good on leather
but hey, I mean who's stopping them from cute passport designs
Or whatever material they're made of
I would've included Taipei 101 in the designs but it's just an opinion
yea it is leather
I mean I liked these designs a lot, I just think they're different from the traditional designs
unless there is a strict guidelines of making passport
I don't think there's any regulations for the design, but as governmental documentation I don't expect many countries to try the same as Taiwan
Yes I know it was a contest, but I haven't seen any other country trying to re design the exterior cover of their passport
At least not any bold design out of the box
Korea could have easily done that with the new update
like the first one, I also the blue colour more than green
And it's not a dark dark blue, still prefer the old one, idk why but the new one feels like a notebook
I agree it looks less like a passport but it looks cleaner to the eyes
even though I'm big fan of green colour
that dark colour + the gold on it doesn't appeal me
i like the seal script idea of the third proposal
and i would incorporate it in something more like the first design
which would be my favorite if not for the boba which sorry, just not passport-like enough for my taste
Rather than boba I'd included something more identifiable with Taiwain, like Taipei 101
yes, taipie 101 would fit perfectly
yes, most welcomed. sry I read that wrong first time
flag of Somaliland
Flag Of Dornogovi Province, Mongolia! They Have A Dinosaur On Their Flag!
This is such a unique flag, really colorful and creative
I wonder why they chose a dinosaur
Honestly, that dinosaur looks more sophisticated than the t-rex
Anguilla used this flag for 2 years before British mandate was restored
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Flag_of_Anguilla_(1967–1969).svg#mw-jump-to-license
Even if the British took control, they could leave the dolphins and add a Union Jack in some corner
Flag of Ruurlo, Netherlands
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ruurlo_vlag.svg
ok but if you had to put an animal in your flag

which animal you choose
Mhh for my country or if I had my own country?
I think they mismatched it 😭
I think I'd put some butterflies on it, haven't seen one with them. The butterflies are free to fly, so it would represent the freedom of the people
"Freedom"

yeah! butterfly would be unique
referring to the loona song clearly
I would put probably a Penguin or Northern Goshawk
tho both are birds
Penguins bcs they are cute...
and Northern Goshawk is a huge representation in sikhism which depicts strength
You could add both birds
If your flag has the same frame as let's say Panama
Four squares
In on top square you can add the Goshawk
And the penguin diagonally
so like instead of stars
Both animals, but yeah, both of them would look cramped or something
hmmm yeah
I must design a flag for myself one day..

actually @uncut needle designed yyxy flag
#orbit-chat message
check this
That's loona yyxy! I like how it's a triangle and gowon's it's upside down
Nice details
I think there's a website where you can design a flag and they print it for you
Idk if $30 is expensive for a flag tho
you can check the pinned message on this thread where you can simulate waving of flag with just a png or jpeg
I mean if it's a good quality cloth then it's reasonable
This is by far one of my favorite flag videos ever, it's not the newest by far, but it's pretty creative
All 230 unique flags of the world in an unpublished hand-colored pop-up book according to the CIA Factbook.
i see my yyxy flag again 👀
for who wasn't when i first talked about it, the plan was to make a square 1/3 flag and a semicircular oec one
but i gave up while trying to think how to fit yeojin in the 1/3 flag, probably
and never got to think about the oec one
that now that i think of it, could be black with three colored stripes along the outer edge
I like the idea for the oec, or you can do it with three circles in the center
thanks, I'll watch it
tbh, the semi-circular would be one of the weirdest flag layout ever
like the Nepal flag
alright
Looks like an old pokemon theme
also this, the orbit logo I flew in simulation
I prefer the orbit flag in grey/black than the white one
Pokemon TCG theme music starts playing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4qkBl17bcg
Spinoff!
Made with bgb and corrscope.
wdym 🤔
found this on reddit, history of pride flags
proposed flag of World Peace from 1913
Roswell, New Mexico has a very pretty flag. Was surprised it wasn’t alien related 👽
this can be contender for one of the worst flags
but seriously US cities need to stop making flags
looks like it was made on powerpoint 😭
the shadow effect on text
The shadow effect is hilarious ngl
could have been kinda cute if a bit tacky, if only they didn't add the text shadow effect
an upgrade I would say
Flag of Phoenix, Arizona
kind of gives same vibes as japanese prefectures
since we talk about different designs here
this is multiocular O from The Cyrillic script
kind of reminds me of bee hive
progress flag in the style of Sicily
Flag of Londonderry, Ireland
Is the black part fr?
yep loll
It reminded to the first episode of this show, Derry Girls, where some guys are vandalizing the "welcome to Londonderry" crossing out the "London" part
Because the flag's top part looks like England's flag but cut it off
Love the socks!
interesting
||my programming socks||
Philippines and Malaysian alliance
Beauty of this flag
good luck

oh wow, I can see face of a transformer
It’s where the Air Force Academy is. Perhaps the the Transformers are trying to tell us something about the fighter jets 🤔
conspiracy
they couldn't have made it symmetrical 😮💨

Sioux Falls, South Dakota flag
how common it is you find state flags in US hanging outside
Somewhat common. You see them mainly on government buildings rather than residential. City flags I almost never see.
Anecdotal but I see pride flags the most as bumper stickers. Business windows I see them second most.
ahhh ok
You'd be surprised how many flags of universities there are in the us. I see those a lot on peoples houses.
Denver, Colorado flag. Very nice synergy with the Colorado flag
this flag looks like it has clear meaning with mountain and sun
pocatello vibes
people fly their university flags?
they take such pride in it?
It's mainly a sports thing. Sometimes it's just a flag with the uni logo, sometimes it's a the logo blended into the US flag
Such as this university of Nebraska one
loll, so innovative

Pretty flag
The requirements for a valid US flag are as follows:
- A blue "field" containing a white star for each state (50 Stars)
- 13 Horizontal stripes, alternating red and white.
The shape, aspect ratio, exact shades of each colour, and position of the "field" for the flag go undefined.

flag used by german peasants during peasant war
The flag was used as a banner by the German peasants who fought against the feudal system present in the Holy Roman Empire of the XVI century.
It shows a rainbow, intended to refer to the covenant God made between Noah and Himself (Genesis 9:1-17). Below the rainbow, there is a line of Latin text saying "verbum domini maneat in etternum" (="verbvm Domini maneat in aeternvm"), which means "The word of the LORD stays eternally", signaling the eternal validity of the covenant God made between Noah and Himself.
Underneath the line in Latin, there are two lines of German text saying "die ist das zeichen des ewigen bundes gotes" (="die ist das Zeichen des ewigen Bundes Gottes"), which means "It is the sign of the eternal covenant of God", describing the meaning of the rainbow.

it’s so intricate

yes, we would love to discuss nepal flag
interesting to see dimensions in irrational figures
i guess the two triangles stem from how a crimson triangular flag was a hindu victory symbol
which is super sick
let’s normalize non-retangular flags
oh yeah, I was shocked to see it's actually 2 triangles merged
there's some reference of this flag on paintings of hindu mythology
it had same ratio as this one
like the one on the right
historically their flag has always been 2 triangles
