I completely forgot that there is 24 hours Le Mans this week
return of Ferrari but Toyota has been on point for a while now so it's gonna be interesting
Yes
I love that car with those wheels specifically.
SSR Longchamp XR-4 on an S13 coupe
Jimmy Broadbent got his time attack MX5 slightly upgraded
nissan power
and a 1/1 j-tuned 34
Wow it's the Nismo-Omori restoration
I wonder how it's specs compare to the old Z-Tune.
If I recall. 428bhp or so for the sale Z-Tune. 500 for the Z-Tune prototype
King of Cool.
owner of the r34 is a prince in the royal family
24 hours of Le Mans online if anyone wants to watch
nevermind I guess they stopped after an hour or so
there is a bunch of onboard cameras available on YT though
ye I remember reading it earlier
nice
They got the win since their last in 1965 and after decades of not participating (1973)
Sheesh I found a z4 e89 35is with the I6 twin turbo
Im selling my mini then I hope this one still available
someone posted this on a subreddit about naming cars
and the top response is a guy making fun of the owner for parking it under a tree with a solar panel on the roof
He doesn’t want to overcharge it
Fiskar was weird,I remember seeing like 2 of those in my lifetime

customer stated car is not badass enough

possibly
i was thinking I'll make a steam engine out of scraps
nice
@brave rampartgod big important question
the piston diameter and the cylinder ID, should it be the same
or should the piston be a teensy bit smaller
not accounting for piston rings
The block+sleeves should be built to accommodate pistons. So the pistons should be made near identical and as balanced as possible along with the crank. The engine should be bored almost perfectly past the diameter of the pistonheads.
i see
i saw a design for a steam engine
The simplest model of a steam engine. It consists only of a moving cylinder and a piston. Without valves etc.
https://www.linkedin.com/in/maciej-nowak-962547184
https://www.instagram.com/mn.projects/
is the cylinder making contact with the intake block
as in, perfect fit contact
on one that small I would guess so yes
Rings not needed. Precision centre-boring with machine
Hobby engines are quite an unsustainable product
Found a 959 body kit for sale 🏄♀️
Now to figure out how to install body kits, let alone mix body kits together 🤔💭
On top of that, changing out drivetrains
The journey is long but Godspeed 🫡
Drivetrain is a different level of fabrication
but do your best
Source a 964 Carrera 4 drivetrain and such
maybe even their chassis and powertrain completely
adapting the older panels to newer chassis is much safer
I did find some 993’s,one convertible but has the C4 train and one that’s coupe but just standard RHD,might try to use that as a donor, especially since it’s in the junkyard lol
I was aiming at least for a 911 SC since I haven’t been able to find slantnose conversion kits for a 993
Or maybe I’m just in the wrong direction in terms of plan
Main objective to get a 959 body kit, primarily for the rear and get a slantnose kit as well as a c4 package
Junkyard porsche sounds bad. Being they are generally the most reliable Euro sport car
To be junked has to mean massive neglect or damage
Yeah it has some damage

But so far no water damage which I guess is more of a red flag?
I’ll link you if you’re curious
Send whatever you want to share. I'm sure none are here to poach what you're checking out
I once heard that you should check under the door handles for dirt just in case if the car wasn't flooded
but this was more for buying used cars
I think it’s helpful regardless
That water can cause headaches
So these are the 993’s that i mentioned
If I were to go the 993 route
I imagined mould in a flood title carrera cab
LOL
we have bluetooth exhausts here
Bought it 2 weeks ago I sold my f55 cooper at the same time, this one is a homura version, I can finally drive my car on track with my dad so I can catch up with his caterham
we love camber.
this one is just bonkers
1.8bar tyre pressure, over -6° on rear.
now get a purple porsche
It was one of my build ideas
41s ɐıʌןıs 👍
it apparently looks like Willow Springs and people have no clue how he managed to do that there
managing to flip a slammed S chassis on relatively low elevation change amazes me
Good Sunday with my dad, first time that people approach me for my car
Whats the backstory behind it?
what car is that
it looks amazing
First I I went a to a car meet with my dad and his car and with my own car (his is the caterham on the left, mine is the Mazda on the right) next thing track day maybe
On the left 2011 caterham roadsport sv
Nice
I would like to build some kit cars
regardless of replica
Yeah because a average joe is gonna have 1.5 mill for a Shelby Cobra
alice won once again
It was pretty interesting

Seeing so many videos of this concept. Seems very interesting. I wonder how they will work with transmissions.
It'll be interesting indeed
Wait there was some disadvantage right
i forgot what it was
probably hot side. One side is all exhaust port. Also I am unsure if the RPM would be able to go high. However that is not a problem if a transmission can handle it
all that torque on what looks to be coming from a heavy rotating assembly if it isn't made of a lightweight metal.
Also very interesting to see whatever intake/port designs they use. I would think they start with individual throttle bodies on each one to have ideal air intake on each port, less starved air from an air collector.
hmm
cool concept tho
But question is, the early developed version, can it replace traditional engines in atleast Light motor vehicles
I saw this car on a thumbnail of a video. Was a bit surprised when I saw what car it was didnt recognise it at all until I saw the rear
looks like an Evo VII-IX
this video got posted earlier today as well

bit of a long one though
you would be well guessing. It is not a piston-driven shaft.
dorito power
Oh?
wait what
I'm imagining the mazda rotary engine
When you order your Porsche on Wish.com… but for real, this is I believe the same kit as the one I featured recently, but the front end has what appears to be a 959 grafted into it. I really, really dig it. Thoughts? #Porsche #VW #959 #Turbo #Euro #J...
@silk coyote
can you guess what car they modified for this?
well the link name kinda gives it away
Lol mx5 ez the seats
Wheels are maybe Mazda factory one
The kit looks good since the front of the car is long and quite wide
And the color is really beautiful
they are the same company that would convert S chassis and Foxbodies back in the day if I am not mistaken
always look at the doors and such. Good stuff.
Mitsuoka also has the Rock Star kit for ND MX-5 Roadster
nice
Kit cars are so nice
This is NOT a Corvette Stingray, but you can drive and own it in Singapore: It's the Mitsuoka Rock Star, a coachbuild of the Mazda MX-5 / Miata with styling straight from the 1960s. It's a very special car with only 220 made, 200 for Japan and 20 for the rest of the world, and Singapore has 10 of those.

rain soaked weekend possibly
how is alonso atm ? i think in wet he can be in the front
Around 8th place usually
my car is making weird sounds again

describe em
had some weird purring sounds when i rev it

Could be any belt. See if it changes when steering
You'll know if it's accessory belt that way by using the power steering
if not, check air filter
had the car stopped and revved it and it still makes the noise
only happens sometimes though, maybe after/during a 1-2hr drive
sure i'll record it when i go on a drive tomorrow
and the car? Honda right?
oh, 8th gen.
its the jdm version tho, idk if theres any difference with usdm
oh right its an r18 not a k20
yup
The noise should be biased to one side then. If it's on the left side (facing the front with bonnet up) it's anything within power steering pump, aircon compressor clutch, alternator.
They like to make whirring noises when they stick
they all pretty much operate by a clutch engagement whilst the engine spins when you use them. Otherwise they free spin. But sometimes they just wear and this can cause constant noise

Bro got supercharger for free

Smol review of the mx5 nd :
Fun car
Easy mode if you want to destroy your car during a wet turn even on low speed
Noisy car but as a convertible it totally acceptable
The gear box is insanely good and everything feel reliable except the diff power plate and the rear axle
I wish the car was a bit lower and the stock exhaust sportier
@brave rampart
its even louder now lmao
I'm dead set on one of the bearing & clutch pieces of the aircon compressor and/or idler pulley
that extra noise really shouldn't be the end of the world. Especially if the battery hasn't died, the aircon still works, etc. Just take it in for service or prepare to lift up the front, chock the rear tyres with a slab of wood or something, and take the front-right wheel off
I'm guessing four 10mm bolts if you do it but you'll be pretty claustrophobic in that space.
Honda Genuine compressor clutches are a bit pricey for R18 engine since they were phased out for the L series
around 2x what you could get them for back in 2017 or so
had its aircon maintained a while ago, might have to check with the shop

one careful owner, low mileage, accident free
asking for $42,000 🤙
Sheesh
Mx5 trunk is kinda smol
precious cargo onboard
that's why it's a perfect mid-life purchase
capable of holding the grey hairs that appear ever more in the boot and does it's job without a spouse or child in passenger seat
Nissan S13 Silvia
yeah that turbo is absoluetly ginormous
the owner is a youtuber i've actually seen that gallardo on youtube a couple times prior to seeing it in person
Can’t gap a civic with laptop
oooohhh
the Mazda 323 GT-R (also known as the Familia in other markets)
GT-R being the trim level
Other notable hot hatches of the era (turbocharged) include the Nissan Pulsar GTi-R and the Toyota Starlet Glanza V
Japanese rally cars took a page auto of Renault and other Euro manufacturers and killed it with their homologation special trims
amazing.
The true enthusiast experience is seeing something worth millions, unready to the fact of it's presence, and just savouring the moment
My favorite headturners
I be lowering my volume in hopes I can hear that baby roar
So they added another video that starts right before the one I posted before. Is it because of me or am I being narcissistic ?
Also, such a beauty to see

you may be cool
but are you 930 slantnose rally spec cool?
4WD also
This is cool af
I knew that Porsche used to be in rally but what is the last pic ? Look like rally cross type ?
Yeah it’s written on it

@brave rampart do you know if the latest Mazda mx5 engine is an multipoint injection ? Is there a big difference having a multipoint for each cylinder or for the whole block ?
Idk if it’s understandable
multi-port?
but if you're asking if it has it
No it is not port injected. Mazda's Skyactiv, like Honda's Earthdreams, philosophy is to offer reduced emissions while increasing power with direct injection.
Direct injection is better for power, compression levels, response, and consistent air-fuel mix at elevation change
budget touring conversion
thats crazy
hehehe

yep i was thinking about that
it's the West where it is just uncommon and not rare + untolerated
Top Secret and Mine's feature of custom R33
No way there is an top secret r33
Btw r33 has the best lines compared to r32 r34
R33 is one of Top Secret's most famous exports
the bodykit (bumpers, skirts, bonnet) are all still being produced today
very popular
S15 Silvia (200sx in AUS) with R34 GT-R V-Spec bumper mended to it hit auction blocks
looks very cool but something to this, niche degree of custom, is definitely selling as someone's loss

I think if I see them on a other car I would like them, every wheels don’t fit every car
I am more into this enkei
Or
The wheels looks better on the r34 than r33 and r32
Idk why but this is what I feel
you see these wheels more in the West for a reason. Tri-spoke is a flop and it's because Advan didn't take advantage on the market back then
But Japanese drifters have Advans prominently and they sell secondhand for less than Enkeis in say US, Canada, or UK while being able to take a smacking
The point is, that S15 has them because it was cheap and doesn't affect the selling price at auction block in Japan
Might be overrated but proper seats are worth it if your car has nicely adjustable suspension and tyre setup
Stock seats can have you going anywhere else except the position to control it with high lateral Gs
it will not add 2 cylinders and 2 turbos unfortunately
but it'll look damn cool on it
Yep
@builtbylegends <t:1691711566:d>
beautiful
the entire front bumper, bonnet, and boot is custom blue-green carbon from what I recall
you can see the bumper is unpainted where the air dam/lip is. Making it 1 entire piece is much more efficient than making the lip separate and having hardware to affix it.
this hurts my soul
oh shiit

This applies to engines of all kinds (minus the traction control segment because cars use brake systems mostly)
add a differential axle to the mix and you now understand the phenomenon of power over and understeer on most cars outside of just saying "balance"
Quiz Question: What is the significance of this piece of metal sticking out from the wheel's barrel?
Hmm I never saw that before maybe a 2 in 1 support for the valve and a balance pad ?

that is a funny looking counterweight
the idea of a support is pretty close. Though any idea why?
Also, Nissan is going all out now with teasing the R32EV development
perhaps their plan is to do what Toyota did and mate the system to a normal drivetrain...
I wouldn't be surprised if it was something about the plastic thingy melting at summer
A support to avoid bending the valve ?
Really close, but basically it prevents the valve stem from bending as speeds increase. Centrifugal forces pull them outward beyond 200kmh and having them bend at sustained speeds can cause a blowout catastrophe.
I see why it didn’t come up first in my mind, but it’s kinda rare to see it on newer cars ? Like I never saw them on rs3 or gt3
Much too new
I'll say around mid 90s they started producing better hardware for mounting stems.
performance valve stems are simple to make
so some companies just supply them with wheels or leave them as options to order
¥630 for RAYS pieces
integrated TPMS (which has been standard feature for all cars made past 2010) also require proper seating to read correct
so it's really just an aftermarket or non-tyre pressure monitor system thing nowadays
Bought a deskmat of a Azure Lane character and didn’t realize there’s a 911 Turbo in the background
Tried my best but this one is nice too, especially with the outline being more clear and cleaner
can anyone explain to me what the porsche generation numbers mean
901/911 first ones. 911 have SWB (Short wheelbase) and LWB differentiated by the position of the torsion bar beginning. Every car past the '72 model year (I think it was 1972) were LWB to reduce "Porsche steer" (lifting off throttle caused oversteer in mid corner) You can see the circles in front of the wheel arch, the distance changed in the LWB to a couple centimetre forward of it.
902/912 is just a VW Beetle engine (flat-4 cylinder) and a 4-speed manual.
915 are 72-86 model transmissions in either the 911 LWB and G chassis. The difference between the 915 transmission and the original 901 5-speed is position of reverse where it's not above 1st on the H-pattern. It was moved to a more recognisable position (below 5th)
G series popped up in the late 70s and persisted into the late 80s starting with the 911 SC (5-speed, non-turbo A.K.A: "Super Carrera") G series can also be widebody. Though these are usually just called "930" with a 915 4-speed MT and added turbo. (Given the label 930 because they were 2.7, 3.0, 3.2, and 3.3L)
The G series is the most iconic of them all. The narrow body is the SC and the "Turbo Carrera" (it's USDM name) is the one with the arch flares and the iconic black, shark-fin decal plastering the rear wheel arch
Porsche 934 is a race car
so is the 935
Capping off the end of the 930 specification, the G50 gearbox was in them from 1987-1989. The G50 was a 5-speed with R gear next to 1st (To the left and up)
NOTE: Borg-Warner G50 transmission were 5 and 6-speed. They are notoriously more easy to shift with and can handle more torque. (That's why 930 Turbo were 4-speed 915 transmission, rather than 5. Simply too much torque until G50 transmission)
Carrera 3.2 87-89 (non-turbo, usually narrow body. *Not sure if any were widebody by factory) are hot commodities with their non-turbo, air-cooled, 3.2L, flat 6 + G50 gearbox
you can see here, the side decal is thinner where the wheel arch is from it's widebody 930 sibling. It's just like a 915 SC but a different transmission. It sports both the "fin decal" and none at times.
In late 1989, the 964 designation debuted
Widebody "Turbo"
Narrow body "Carrera"
They were pretty much the exact same shape as the 930/915s but they got rid of the black accented crap like the poorly "integrated" impact bumper (the black rubber line going all around the older export cars) in exchange for smoother skirts, bumpers, and engine cover/spoiler area
*same "frunk"/bonnet by the way as all Porsches before if I am not mistaken
The Carrera was able to be both narrow and widebody in RS trim
Later model 964 featured a vent where the rear arch was. Pictured a '93 (964) 911 Turbo S Leichtbau or "Lightweight"
The 993 was the last generation of air-cooled 911s. This basically means none of the engines from this generation and before required a radiator or coolant. (*Exception for any turbos because the turbos were actually cooled by liquid but that doesn't mean the engine block has cooling jackets)
Fun Fact: The exhausts were technically heat extractors, and yes the engines ran hot.
993 "Wide body"
993 "Wide body with vent"
Wide vs narrow. Really hard to distinguish, not even sure if I got them right above. I know the spoiler vents are specific to them.
993 saw the introduction of Carrera 4 though, a 4WD drivetrain. And the GT[Number class] RS edition.
1995-1998 (993) 911 GT2 RS
This is the end of air-cooled engines + G series transmission. Some were 6-speed G series like the aforementioned GT2 RS
The 1999 (actually debuted in 2001 because development) to 2005 996 designation was the first of liquid-cooled, flat-6 engines. It also added a camshaft to each head, allowing double the amount of cylinder valves (2 for both exhaust and intake cycles for a total of 4 at each cylinder. From a previous 1 of each job for a total of just 2 valves per cylinder) First instance of a DOHC in Porsche 911 consumer cars
These are known by some as "fried egg" and "cat eyes" by their respective headlamp shape/designs.
This is where my knowledge pretty much ignores the future
if you want to read about the engine specifics for all, there's tonnes of resources, just ask anything really.

If I missed anything or am wrong, I can understand being corrected. It's been a pretty long time since I scrubbed up on the Porsche stuff
So I may have some disclaimers. I also labeled some with asterisks "*"
No problem, I hope it's decent enough to be a guide

A lot of trouble to get these in full res
They've been gatekept but there is really no need, real work needs to offset the misinfo
Nissan R33 GT-R converted to NISMO 400R look body pieces, nicknamed "800R"
Pushing 800PS back in the 90s
a bespoke setup at the time equipped a GREDDY/TRUST T88-34D Turbo when many were doing T78 for upgrade + "boost up". The RB26 redone to 2.8L from 2.6 like the RB-X GT2 engine of the NISMO 400R
Pre '95 Mid Night had a few Rs hitting 700-740PS. But far more were just "boost up" and ECU tweaked to make 340 or so at wheel
this is a great showcase with good sources. Read if interested, the whole account is great
Porsche pages + this scan of this R32 are from a 1994 issue of AutoWorks magazine on Mid Night @ Japanese Automobile Research Institution (JARI) AKA: "Yatabe test track/proving ground"
just for weeby cue ball shifters?
look over at what Cusco sells or any other Japanese tuning shop has
Tomei, GReddy/TRUST, and such
depending on jurisdiction obviously, shift pattern being printed on or near the shifter is required
I usually just opt for solid billet cue ball or teardrop. No engraving, they charge 20% of the price in addition for them
Premium brand , I think I’ll buy some from Ali express
if it's aluminium, it works, that's good enough
duracon (material) is inexpensive and great. Used in 90s race cars in DTM, N1, etc
Yep I know that there is a lot of professional drifters in France who bought their knobs on Ali express
So I think it will do the job
BEAUTIFUL
high quality cast wheels are some of the best to own for street and track applications

“This ain’t it for me” 😭💀
well yes
at the time, comeback after a major tendon tear was unheard of
spelled the end of careers. Only exception I can think of is Dominique Wilkins in the 90s
Honestly like how cars are drawn
When they’re a little bloated and not an exact 1:1 lining
Like the little roundness and straight lines they would use
Gives a vibe
How hard is installing coilovers
Depends on the car but swapping the pieces is not hard as long as you have the tools and space
ND are very easy in my opinion
undo wheel assembly, rotor can stay on if you can get under the wheel-well(s) comfortably. Undo the connecting pieces attached to the control arm and strut tower.
take the strut out and it's just in reverse from there
I assume the coils you're getting also don't have the older, cheaper bushing style that needs to be preloaded
Pillow-ball style or something and it attaches to the LCA where you removed the stock strut

I’ll buy D2, max speeding rods or bilstein depending if there is any stock and also the budget
I think I’ll invest more time about learning mechanic on cars
looking juicy
bilstein or flyin miata ND Fox coils are valid options. Don't touch maxspeeding rods they don't get good unless you overinvest
I really like FortuneAuto's 500-510s
they're the best imo
and not super shit for the price. Great quality and performance
maxspeeding rods are often rip-offs for what you get. That's why I added those options like FA.
FortuneAuto coils are comfy and performance. They have custom spring rate selection upon ordering and the dampening is able to be dialed in on the tophats of the coils to a greater spec than most others
Rip
So I made the choice of installing the coilovers by myself but when I look at the specs to see the torque range of everything I see like a range of 77-93Nm what is the best value ?
for the arms and lower coilover mount bolt I go up into and no lower than 120
a lot of the cheaper torque tools leave measurements under by about 5-9Nm on first click so I do ~100 first and then add in increments of 10 or 20 if I feel like it
unless you use an electronic thing
or just use an impact gun
technicians and shop mechanics use them if they get paid flat rate to save time
for top hat pillow ball mounts into the strut tower you don't need much. You can even hand tighten them. About 26Nm and no more
I don’t care if this car is not as “functional” as it used to be - it has 3 spokes wheels and a cool interior, that’s a win for me. Admittedly, those aren’t geniune Super Advans as the originals did not come in favourable specs for 4x100. Nevertheless, this is one interesting example packed with cool details such as subtly widened fenders, alumi...

Not the fastest, but damn cool doing so
Ford Sierras were dominant and not many causals talk about that
Fun Fact: The R32 GT-R was not an undefeated winner if you include any other series outside of Japan.
It lost in Australia a couple times and in other stages against Sierras and at times E30 M3s which cornered much better on tighter tracks.
But wasn’t it in Australia that it went undefeated? I thought the nickname derived from that
No, it was undefeated in Japan series
It came to Australia behind the competition. Won 7 out of 9 races in it's best season.
in the end the Aussie Rs could take faster tracks seconds ahead. But they weren't as nimble as the JTCC R32 and those didn't even touch the Sierras. They were specialised though, for the downhills and straights on Australian grounds.
"Godzilla" describing the R32 was coined by an Australian magazine also
*the writer at least
Oh I c
Got my car detailed
very happy
Time to buy a seat cover and other accessories for it
Honestly want to treat it more better, I want to give the car to my little brother once he graduates from HS so he can have something, especially if he plans on going to college or trade school or just work
Best move 👏
Morning chill
very good
ahh, I've not really had to deal with that personally
but I know amateur cannonball runners like the Radenso product. It's been in the game for a bit
once you understand how to use one, it gets a lot simpler
they're a classic
Sheesh
You can watch the odometer roll a couple haha
I saw an announce of a galant mitsu I wonder if it’s the 4G63 the car looks clean and it’s under 100km
what announcement?
ah ye mb I forgot to say that it's on selling websites
Lol

Beautiful, gold mesh wheels do well
gotta visit daikoku at least once in my life
Later when the business owners with cool cars get off work and want to just hang out. Very good time
everyone talks. You might find people filming, vloggers, etc. None of it is new
I got wheel spacers on my car (20mm in front and rear) bearings will wear a bit more but since it’s not a real daily it’s ok but I feel a difference like I feel secured when turning like hips and ass is tight
Weird to explain but I feel like the weight of the car is locked
Quite surprised by this small change
scrub radius and track width is altered
Saw a 996 base for 9k
In Singapore, you have to pay $80,000 if you want to have the privilege of owning a car... Not to buy it, just to owning one and driving it... Let that sink in a minute. But that's not what we are here for. We are here for the Car Culture. Larry Chen takes you on an exclusive behind the scenes look into Singaporean car culture and it does not di...
interesting watch
The longest Hillclimb in Europe, it´s the mythic Trento-Bondone, this year counting for the Italian HillClimb championship and boasting a fantastic entrylist to tackle the gragantuan 17.3Km track. With plenty of GT3 machinery, Hayabusa V8 swapped Monsters, Turbo beasts and the return of a Judd V8 screamer!!

Personally? No
it's not very modified since it's just for casual street use. Coils, wheels, tyres, and a few things is not a build and thus does not get named since it is not customised much besides basic upgrades.
Example, my S13 is just "the car"
finally passed emissions, light went off after using catalyst treatment
FC are beautifully balanced machines
I always liked them
their biggest issue is the engine though
Not because reliability or any boring jokes
they lack torque. Turbo 2rotor can only do so much on stock internals and housing before you start getting blow-by; furthermore, upshifts have a long wait to match revs and do completely smooth driving. They have a nice weight distribution though, good suspension design.
they were standard on some of the early 2000s SsangYong Kyron M200
a good amount Asian of SUV and trucks ran the 2x3 and tri-spoke design as OEM
one that comes to mind first is the Toyota 4runner/Hilux SUV from the late 90s
*Hilux Surf and the 4Runner are their model names depending on the regional market.
i find it mildly infuriating when people try to defend left lane hogs
it just ever so slightly decreases my life expectancy
Before anyone asks, it's a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible corrected
slab headrest, door lock position, handle + lock, and the rear arch line.
*RS trim was the one below Super Sport. Stood for Rally-Sport
1st gen muscle cars were amazing.
so nice
seems like its a '69/70 deville? the front checks out as well
Not gonna lie, I knew the interior didn't match
I got lazy
Yes it's a GM. The 1st teaser with the old ladies had a V8 badge in the rear but by the time you guys saw this I just didn't want to back track
understandable i couldnt extract any much from the teaser lol
do the engine sounds in the mv match the car though im curious
Yes
oh nice
100% a smog-choked, chevrolet sound. They all generally have the same ticking and grumbling
issue is finding a video to compare that doesn't have boomer music over it for tiktok hipsters
Garage Memories 1965 Caddy DeVille Convertible test drive
if he would quit yappin, you'd hear it better. This one is from a few years prior to the model in the MV
1969 was the correct year though, thankfully my knowledge of the handles and locks being the same + slab head/neck rests carried
damn that rob dham's rx7 is clean
he has a new project now as well
Sport compacts of different eras
Sorcery NSX lineup (2005)
Oof
It better not have an LS under there
would be funny if it were an RB
the trio all in one
MazdaSpeed A Spec wing from an FD3S
Yep
interesting how it fits
Would suit it best on an NB
though it fits very well there
I like the little arch flares
the little baby car
does it fit my honda
so fds are not as wide as i expect
Fds are small cars
They are only about 20cm longer and a bit wider than an ND MX-5 at the mirrors
And that is still shorter than a 9th gen Civic Si Coupe
oh and thinner too
there are no ways to get the engine unless someone finds the crank dimensions and makes it themselves
M3 GTR replicas are all just bodykits, tube frames, livery, or a mix of them
Yep, this one I saw today is the m52b25
with an added compressor
little baby popcorn making contest
a lot of people are criticising those crosses but I think it gives it a unique character
the antichrist isn't in Nevada driving a over-stanced NA MX-5 I'll tell you that
a bit tack I'll say
Idk
The only thing that bother me in the pic is the exhaust
And maybe the camber
Nice Pontiac
Idk why there is so much Ferrari kits for Pontiac fiero
the cease & desist's exist for a reason
with the amount there were in the nineties, they couldn't accept being travestied

That's...actually not that higher
Huh I thought that's gonna retail like 450k or sumn
because of the features
Well the leather of my seat is already damage not even 5k km with the car
But it’s not that damaged I mean is like well used
Good reason to swap on bucket seat

you can upgrade/replace at any pace
no worries for an explanation
just make sure you don't regret it
@brave rampart what do you think about 350z and 370z engines I heard that they’re are not that reliable and also a bit weak for the car
Yep
First, I have had a lot of experience with them
Particularly the VQ35DE
the VQ3XHR versions are always better
sound better too
HR engines were standard in all Z33-34 chassis after 2007?
or so
Forged internals, better intake plenum, two intakes rather than 1, and better exhaust system compared to DE.
I think all the VQ engines are pretty boring though.
6,500rpms on the first DE, 7,000 for the "rev-up" versions (awful oil issues and ring wear becomes more exaggerated in these ones)
the HR had a 7,000-7,250 redline. Like I said, overall an upgrade. Not as many age-related issues as the DE model
the reliability of any high compression 6cylinder has a ceiling of about under 400k kilometers or some 250k miles. The oil issues just accelerate it on VQ3XDEs
expect nothing amazing from them. Their main issue is how hot they get and how compact the chassis is. There's just enough room for turbos, but it's a horrible idea. Heat soak is so bad that low or top-mounting turbos is just idiotic.
That's why you see rear-mounted turbos on VQ cars
Turbos where you would normally see a second exhaust port
Allows for you to use more space for the intercooler
their power without boost is enough for anyone unless you're some Toretto wannabe. They have a modest top speed. High 250kmh/150mph. Although, power increases from most normal bolt-ons is little to none on them.
They drive pretty darn well though
So ye for stock performance it’s good for people who wants to cruise and chill
precisely
it's good out the box
No upgrade path without extensive overhaul though
My friend is looking for a japanese car but 4 cylinder atmo is not enough for him and he wants something past year 2000
He drove my Mazda
He found that the car was a bit underpowered for his taste
Every car will feel underpowered if your ideal power curve is one that forces you to back off before it punishes you.
I find that is actually what people want who don't understand power
but trust me
No real driver does
Linear delivery is ideal. Having to constantly see-saw off and on is not something for a daily driver.
Because torque is what you feel when you suddenly deliver more air into an engine
if it's increase with the pedal is linear. They don't feel that jump that turbos or huge displacement does. (say goodbye to your wallet and tyres + brakes if that's what you like) race machines are not cheap.
Driving is the most expensive sport to get into... just shy of the world's military superiority race.
Horsepower doesn't tell you anything other than theoretical top speed (without aerodynamic drag or gear ratio)
torque is what he wants to feel. It's what puts you in your seat when you jab the throttle.
Want torque? You don't shop for a 4cyl. You can artificially manipulate torque by increasing gear ratio though. Like changing the sprocket of a bike.
But that means you have to spin the pedals (engine) more to do the same top speed. Which is impossible since you've made that sprocket (final drive ratio) smaller and have the same rpm redline. You'll get tired quicker (lower fuel efficiency) get tired quicker and you have to refuel more often.
You're in Europe right?
Yep
You guys don't have 3.0L, aluminium block V6 cars that make efficient power.
EUDM never had that demand for a V6 sedan/saloon like the US-CAN does. BMW may have some cars he can like but they are bimmers with bimmer issues
Audi has decent inline 5 turbos and such
they can be good picks
but then again. Audi issues
Yep I told him the same thing
No muscle cars exist there without heavy insurance fees and road tax
Overall, the demand, the market, and the legislation for a mid-range sporty car doesn't exist without the jump to luxury in Europe
Sad to say. Though he could get an AWD Volvo
a 2004 Volvo S60 5cyl 2.5L Turbo AWD would be cool. They are slept on
more power than a E46 325i
only by about 18bhp
Yep Volvo are getting popular since car meet are coming back, golf gti or r are popular for bmw if it’s not an m2 you have de classic e36 318is 325i
Buying a car is hard in France since Germany import are not that safe because the kilometers count can be changed in Germany
Golf turbos crap out if they haven't been fully refinished at their 16 year mark.
I have heard much horror
despite the strictness of Germany's auto laws too
As modifications it’s easier in France compared to Germany Switzerland and Belgium
interesting
Even if it’s illegal unless you have a big accident police won’t bother you if it’s not noisy and if the control is done and you have the sticker
But you can be fucked by insurance when crash happens or you’re having issues with the car
But if you drive your modified car police won’t chase you
displacement tax is what made mid-range sports cars nonexistent in Europe. No small 2.6-3.8litre coupes are cheap. Emissions is why none of the West in general gets good JDM.
Yep we could have the new Z the new Hyundai sports car and others
Brz and Yaris gr cost the price of an golf gti or r
hurts to see
But I saw something on Ig that a gr Corolla cost the price of an well optioned Porsche turbo S in Europe
Idk if it’s true for a Corolla but that would be sad
so the PRV, PSA, Busso or VR6 engines are not a good idea?
I guess those are probably too old now though
we're talking power. And power in a PRV can be as low as a DeLorean and as high as 400bhp with Venturi (the maker of the "French Ferrari" car like the 400 Trophy)
yes that too
bussos are small displacement too. Linear power
And... Alfa
pretty much any Fiat I'd recommend against unless you are unapologetically Italian
As I was looking at european V6s it looks like we tend to shove them in hatchbacks
indeed, since most don't use compact engines unless out of volume necessity.
I forgot to mention the abysmal power lows of the PRV lol
When I try to look at any czech V6s I only found a bike
And the new Praga but that is basically a modified engine from R35
Also not a young guy's daily haha
scary
In case you wanted a bike with a 2.5l engine

Scary af
Well I can reach 150 kph on 3rd gear
wait what
FD2 was not sold outside of Asia due to a variety of reasons

I've seen roll races between slightly modified 10th gen Civic Si/RS 1.5T and Fairlady/370z and the Z will lose pretty much every time.

on another note there are welded patches on the rails, the body panels look beautiful though.
