#Music Making
1 messages · Page 5 of 1
this is a HEAVILY modded version
of a chiptune maker
yes
chiptune
why im staying with it is because
whenever i share my music i like seeing the community's reaction
"omg howd you make this" when the music they make is something you'd hear out of like
idk
ummmmm
really old games
my whole thing is just making really realistic sounding edm with this thing
and since im a cover artist like making the instruments and stuff wouldnt be as fun with FL
LOL SEINFELD BASS
That cheesy slap
its the most realistic sample the developers added
Yea yea if is originally made for chiptune
yeh
But i can hear what you said
i could just make the instrument myself but
Like is modded
not as good
Cus sounds pretty modern
The type of production
What's the name of the daw? so i can check it
Ultrabox is an online tool for sketching and sharing instrumental music.
Like if i said smth is not in bad faith at all, just givin my honest opinions 🙌
Lol
which is why i never really shared what i make stuff with
looks smth like this
Is aight, using that gives it an unique flair to your music
is a cover right
As some people say "limitations breeds creativity"
Oh i don't listen to Kep1er
Is just like Xiaoting 😊
basically its their most detailed song
and like two people made it
best song imo
the others are um
they're fine
Cool nice
listenable
just uh
the last original was
two months ago
thats how much of a cover artist i am
Ah is aight
Everything helps to learn the craft
I had a Why Not kinda remix somewhere
yknow weirdly enough you sound like more of a philosopher than a producer
i mean producers dont exactly have a way of speaking anyways lmfao
Like i just found the bass sound

Well Rick Rubin is like that
omg you should of seen my why not cover
before uploading this i kinda
kinda messed with the limiter
so the bass at the start weirdly sounds loud
accidentaly
Hey sounds pretty spot on
the song is super easy
Is kinda like that in the og tho
i guess
I can't find my lil flip
This is the best ones i got imo
Have to work a bit more on the mixing, the second one i'm not really sure of the arrangement and the acapella on it, it fight with some instruments on the frequiency spectrum it seems
And i the first one i might lower the bpm just a lil bit
fair point!
hmmm honestly you sound more like a trap producer
or just like
a beat
Actually because this gif i began stanning lsf
producer in general
goddamn
I lean more to trap, hip hop, rnb
Well the only way i could listen to it is filtered thru kpop
I luv
Lol i read that
gosh mp3 ruined the audio

Yea don't worry
my one problem with this really is i accidentally turned it into aespa thirsty
I don't have the best device for listening rn
🗿
Lol is a mix
Between Ditto and Thirsty
a bit after second chorus there's a dance break
That last beat you send
i dont hear ditto
The kick part
THE KICK PATTERNS YEAH
Kinda that "Jersey Club" stuff
Or whatever
Really on trend these days
I was studying Ditto
Like copying the pattern
Came up pretty similar
i could hear that yes
There we go
I found the right clap loop
Had the right sound to it
Then i chop it up
I have to figure out the chords and synth sound still
god you should of sent me this when i made ditto

I just learned that AirPods have a built in EQ 😮
Still nowhere near as good as my actual headphones, but it’s a whole lot better than without an EQ
Love war still sounds so good
WHAT WHY
okay ummm ill send mp3
idk if this applies but what you guys think about this audio interface?
Today I review the best budget interface I have tested up through today; the Behringer UMC22. I also provide a fix/solution to audio coming out of one speaker / headphone. If you’re on a tight budget and only need a single XLR input, I absolutely recommend this thing.
Buy the Behringer UMC22 (Affiliate)
Amazon: https://geni.us/umc22
Sweetwater...
im thinking about getting this one as i only want a single mic line and has a direct monitor
and has phantom power if i ever go a condenser mic. im currently rocking a samson q2u
looks uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
looks
great?
-digital producer with absolutely zero external equipment
What's your use case?
just for voip in games or voice chat
tis the beginning of another expensive hobby kek
is that
really music making though
kinda thought you were gonna do some sick beats with a better mic lol
starts beatboxing!
i mean it's an audio interface so it applies i guess

uhhhhhhh
i may be uneducated but
um
doesnt seem that bad
okay well i finished my little remix of itzy bet on me
like i said i felt like the song was way too empty for powerful vocals
actually i dont really like the rap part i did here lol i tried to keep the flow
Aye it is fine for that
Great interface 7/10 overall 9/10 price
UMC22 is an upgrade over the older small sibling UM2, build quality is much improved, steel body but plastic face. Knobs are reasonably solid and the ports have minimal wobble.
Depending on what you do, this interface might just suffice whatever you throw at it. It is not exactly industry grade preamp, but it's a great preamp and the sounds you can make out of this is enough to get you to release a solo or sumthin.
24bit/48KHz is enough for general purpose, but if you're gonna do a sample pack of sort (something that has more editing flexibilty) try getting an interface with higher than 96kHz recording sample rate.
Headphone output is ....bit abysmal. If you have low ohms headphones it's perfect, but if your headphones are like 80 ohms or more, might wanna consider amp
So yeah for VCs
They said voip for games
There are not much cheaper options tho is there
it's dependent on Son's place
From where I am, I can get M-Audio Mtrack Solo for cheaper
@warm girder can I know your mic of choice?
Pretty important because you said VC
samson q2u, a dynamic microphone
That means you're gonna boost gain
the reason i chose this because this can be usb or xlr mode
also behringer umc2 is the the only audio interface within my price range. the next audio interface available was the scarlet which is nice but out of range for my price range kek
Or your voice quality will get destroyed
Dynamics already have a great suppression towards background noises
Krisp is very good these days mate
thanks got it. i'll have to fuck around and found out to see which works best for me.
Nah I don't trust it, the audio coming out from the preamp is what we want, because it reflects the mic's true capability
There shouldn't be any digital inbetween IMO
I get this if we want maximum quality, but we're talking voip for games so less background noise is better
But he got a dynamic
And it is really good these days as I said
if he has, say Shure KSM32 then yes
You oughta turn Krisp on
That son of a gun is DELICATE
Fair
next step is practice my deep voice so i can be an eboy
Krisp is really good at picking voice only, so you don't have to fiddle around with the threshold so much if you happen to, say, lean back a bit more so it wouldn't pick your voice anymore
How's the top end?
Based on field experience, (not Krisp) every software based noise cancelling stuff will like, always oversuppress the top end so intelligibility goes out of the window for certain non English speaking
However, that's like, years ago so maybe nowadays you're right, it has gotten better
Can't say other than I didn't notice any difference once my friend said he has been using krisp for several months already, back when I still recommended against it and it sounded terrible
I've only set up stuff for recording and voice critical space in almost full analog
And being almost full analog, reliability skyrockets
This is the thing, lately it has gotten way better. Better than any noise reduction I've heard before, makes sense since discord probably has the most voip data since skype
Cause I know what each mic sounds like
That's nice then
I get it, I work in audio too. I just don't think it's necessary to overly complicate things for someone who's goal is to voip in games with friends. Just hook it up, turn krisp on and you're golden.
hey irfannnn wdyt about my song
i worked really hard on it
it took like
like ten hours maybe
That’s very nice!
Now I’m not very skilled at producing, however I feel like there could’ve been something a bit more in the higher frequency ranges
could you maybe elaborate ?
Something like this
I stitched it together without headphones so I couldn’t use the metronome lol
Yeah, just something in the high range to fill it out a bit more in the final chorus
Some sort of synth like the one in the intro to girls front
The one I used here is a marimba preset on my piano lol
you should also add a synth solo
What you did was completely fine, but I feel like the final chorus is too similar to the beginning chorus
I think adding a synth in the upper register just in the background would be amazing
now make sure you don’t put it too loud
true true! i do need to add more stuff to my final chorus
since all i really added was
um
hi hat
Group recording shenanigans
how is it so far
this is way too funky
if you're asking me
its mcdonalds 2
Btw how are you making the synths go wub wub
Are you like, cutting the volume over the course of the beat and then bringing it back?
Sidechain
I don’t know what that is, but I’ll look into it
My goal is to have a basic knowledge of production before I go to school
Basically this but using compressor to do it automatically, routing depends a bit on the daw
Hmm
Basically, a sidechain is when you take input from another track and feed it into your effect.
You know how a compressor lowers the volume output based on how loud the input is in relation to the threshold? In this case, there's a compressor on the synth, but the kick's input volume is used instead of the synth's input volume to determine how much to lower the synth's volume. So, when the kick hits the threshold volume, the synth's volume quiets down. This gives you the impression that the kick is so loud that it crushes the synth's volume.
Y'all I haven't worked on music in months because I've been so busy with adulting and family obligations. Lurking on this chat every now and then makes me miss it real bad.
Holy crap
This is like comp sci
Man
Now im really tempted to finally actually start learning how to produce
I’ve been putting it off for no reason
I'm assuming you're younger than me since I'm older than most Orbits (according to surveys), so yes! I recommend putting in some time before you have too many responsibilities like me
And this sidechaining thing is a great example of how to spend your time. Once you have your basics down, it's good to dig into how your favorite sounds (such as "wub wub" synths) are made so you can add it to your tools or even experiment with them and make your own sounds
I’m college bound and I’m gonna be studying music tech (basically how to record and use protools)
I’m hoping in the future I can make some money off of music
I guess I’m a bit more fortunate than most because most of my time will be spent studying music and production compared to most people
Awesome! College was when I had the most time to spend on music too. I'm sure you'll do great especially given your coursework.
my beloved!
i've come with an idea @fringe laurel

It's crisp and bubbly like sonic champagne
Seamlessly flowing instrumental fills at every corner
I'm so hyped rn
The vocal mix is flawless too
Just gave it a listen
This might be my favorite OEC material. Also very hyped on this teaser
lowkey expected it to be more aggressive considering the teaser and name lol
then again... last time they did an aggressive title track... i dont think it went very well with most of the fandom
im so baaad
so what is actually insanely detailed

Older LOONA monotree stuff was more straightforward imo. In these teasers, it sounds like they did not tolerate letting 4 measures sound identical instrumentally
I'm not able to listen again rn to go into more detail, but it left an immediate impression on me
From the highlight medley it really looks promising. I feel like it's a big leap up from the older monotree stuffs, and it's really good.
Ah sth like CLC's Helicopter?
Pilot power
you know before clc helicopter i do realize
a lot of third gen songs
smaller groups
they do a bit of singing during the chorus
and the focus isnt exactly on the vocals but the beat itself
clc black dress and clc me are all i can think of
idk how to explain it actually

i sound stupid
ptt yeah
actually third gen small kpop groups is just a lot of singing during chorus
fourth gen is more focused on instrumental
forget everything i just said
lot of singing during chorus is what im saying
This is smexy af
like actually
I aspire to be like this guy
Make crispy beats and mix perfectly
But I kinda prefer slightly wet stuff
Btw I just realized that there are so many food terms to describe music
Crispy
Wet
Saucy
Spicy
This is the only one I've heard actually being used outside of random internet comments
Wait til you hear me use the word moist to describe a beat
Crispy is used a lot
At least from where I’ve been talking lol
Spicy saucy and other shiz like that definitely aren’t used that much
I’d say NCT sticker is spicy tho
Ay yo too
Saucy, maybe salsa stuff

It’s like wet, but thiccc and sexy
It is the producers job to transcribe the world salad to sound. Fun times client comes to you and says "I want it to sound pink and fluffy like a cloud"
My title: the unicorn has ADHD
Man, I really gotta get headphones again
Recording without the metronome is terrible lol
Sorry, I ghost pinged you cause I realized the video I sent somewhat doxxed me
@solar canopy
Title sounds about right. And yes, always record with metronome unless it's just something you quickly want to save before you forget it and don't have the setup for it at that moment.
The reason I didn’t record with a metronome is cause you would hear it in the recording loll
Fair enough, time is hard to keep without it

should you though
oh my one solution with this is usually to lower the volume and use headphones instead of earphones, those could easily record the output audio for some reason!
unless you're using speakers

and no dont use wireless earphones please
I used to record with wired earbuds, which work fine, but I don’t have wired earbuds anymore
Nowadays, I usually connect my computer to my piano and do midi
Ay the audio quality is better than recording with my wireless headphones
I should probably find a way to use the phone mic when recording
The latency will hurt tho 💀

i dont use garageband, but um
isnt there a way to calibrate mic latency?
and like even if there's latency, it would still be on a certain beat
couldnt you just move the audio file a little to the left?
sync it to the beat?
It's pretty common to edit recorded tracks to have better timing even after correcting for latency
So I don't see a problem
Yeah though that would be pretty difficult considering the fact that its a piano so there would be some reverb
When I was having issues with latency, it was when I was doing midi recording, so I was hearing the note about 1-2 milliseconds after I played it
I solved it by plugging in my headphones
But yeah, I probably wouldnt have an issue recording with wireless headphones as long as I’m able to find a way to get the mic input to not be from my headphones
wireless headphones just have bad mics
Ikr
Absolute shittiest things in existence
Wired earbuds actually have decent mics tho
I just found out that a person I’ve been talking too for years on discord is cousins with a producer who I absolutely adore their music
They’re part of a team called new type and they make insane shit like this

i thought that was a japanese song because anime lol
OOH
first drop is pretty lacking imo, post chorus is really good

i could make something like that but i just ran out of ideas

to be creative on it

so yea
havent heard either of those
technically i also made my first mashup
how long did it take
cant imagine being an fl producer and taking more than three hours to make a song
it took me 2 weeks to do it

making a bunch of weeeklyverse related musics
yes
oh dear the snare on that first one is pretty quiet
all of these are mixed in my opinion
@primal tree
AYE will hop in right away
Idk if i made it on my laptop or pc
thats so good
Might need mixing also lol
god i like my software but i remember that i cant add custom samples
Hop on it tho
that's one of my tribute project btw
"A Weeekly Adventure" project was 2 years in the making
and there was "The World of Mariya"
HUH
also took 2 years in the making

oh right
(yes, i took 7 years of college)
yeh i guess thats a problem by itself
damn anxiety hits me
the only good thing is to be dedicated on it

im making rap flow already
must be nice
Sheesh i'm glad it inspired you
right off the bat, thats already a hook
I guess i made the beat on my laptop, so i should export the stems to my pc
2021 hitted worst on me
but since Weeekly released We Play (when Jiyoon was there) my dark times was cured and got motivated to continue my chiptune cover project @lyric wing
To mix it properly, maybe adding some more layers
But this could be a great starting point
Fr fr
aww
honestly like. this is my current genre but eASLKJASLG I MISSED RAPPING
so I wish to be the same too
ugly ass vocals
Oh nice, really pop-ish kinda ballad
tried getting into synthpop ish
i think i've heard this before
yuppp
Sounds smth i'd sing at a karaoke
KHSKGHA

i think i might share this too
just like a soup, served on the table.
sour and hot, straight to the stomach
I'll be warming up your heart
thats just a really punchy bass
it's a bass, also a kick!
well thats a punch
i could definitely hear the chiptune
from A Weeekly Adventure project, i think this, by far, my most favourite track to make
the original track inspired by Soojin and the 12:12 portal from Weeekly lore
let me count

i wanna learn making rnb/rap
i think it's over 100
gosh i wish rnb and rap was popular where i am
because in my area
people keep singing really old shit
and not like
old people
songs
uhhhh you've definitely heard of the song beer right
yeah LMAO
LOL
thats so old-
I'll be famous there then
relative of mine told me a story about how this guy brought his guitar to school but the only song he knew was beer
facts in fact jo
and he kept playing it
Still learning day by day
remember the midi days and how simple the game soundtracks was in 80s and 90s?
that's what the aim of my chiptune covers i wanted to be @lyric wing
sometimes it was imperfect
ehhhh i wasn't born during this era but
close enough
by like ten years LMAO
i made this old korean song (with ugly korean lyrics) way back in 2017 i think lemme find it
kek
wait wtf no
Here is another one
its not even 2017
it was only 3 years ago????
우쎤 (U.CEAN) — 'Blu' MV
Release: August 5, 2019, 12:00 pm PST
Hello? This is U.CEAN! I am not Korean but am from Philippines. I want to be a Music...
THE MV IM DEAD

i remember making this with iMovie
Checking it rn
my korean is like so bad that year
I don't know no korean so
oddly reminds me of restless
im doing a re-making of it probably might release again next year
oneulbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam
Dope, is pretty solid in its current state tho
thanksss
I can see if you wanna re record vocals
im redoing the beat too. it's decent but i feel like i can make it better still
Chords are pretty, bass do its thing, like accomplish its role
thanksss
My only "issue" is the snare, i might use another sound, but is just personal preference fr
truee
Like it feels a bit out of context with the trap hihats, but i've seen some people mixing both type of sounds
Another rough one, leaning more to straight bars hip hop stuff
Recorded the bass line myself, now i can hear some weird spots where the playing is a bit off
show show show
u added the effects?
uh yes
is that midi?
YOU DONT KNOW THIS SONG?!?!?!
THEN WHAT SONG IS IT
JOPAAAAy
DI TAYO MAG AAWAY AALIS TAYO
SA TUNAY NG MUNDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
bro jopay literally want up in popularity in the past few months
gosh would it be funny if a mod came in here and asked us to speak english
correct

im loving the chiptune pls
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
gosh this was popular in like what 2019
especially with those anime fans
back in the day i made a 80s version of IU's Palette with ugly vocal mixing
help what
i wanna show and i guess ur free to judge the vocal mixing cus "its really baaaaad"
this one is a chiptune cover from Yukiko Okada's Little Princess
this was the start of my journey with FL Studio
the song was written by mariya takeuchi
inst is on point so far!
oop
AKSHGASG
well the instrumental is good!
thank uu
this lowkey sounds like the singer is trying to hold his laughter in
WAIT THIS IS YOU
YEAH-
thank uuuu
oh idk the original
but this is quite good
believe me even the software im using does not make good chiptune
its not even software gosh
uhhh that or im just bad idk
either way it SUCKS
aight i wanna transition from synthpop to glitchpop with chiptune overlays
hamsik teach me the ways
transition from synthpop to DUBSTEP
you know that my little silly original track made it in my mariya takeuchi project lol
my vocals arent really dubsteppy
bwahhhh wub wub yoi yoi yoi yoi kick kick really long snaaaaaaaaaaaaare
bwahhhbwahhhh yoi yoi yoi wub wub drop the bass
which vst do u use for the chiptune ham
oh this is not loona butterfly

heh
this was intended to be
5/4 time Butterfly seems work tho
but it definitely is, inspired from Butterfly from LOONA
truee
ijeneun nae maeumi hurricane
here's another variant of plastic love, but did you know where i cover this from?
uhhh idk
been been there
never been been there

hamsik do u have a Flyday Chinatown one
oh that sounds familiar i def know that song

here's Eki, and Single Again
nope idk that one
i listened to whole mariya takeuchi discog to find selective songs to be covered
i think this one you should know
more recognizeable than the three i posted
lol
but yea this song is underrated too

Night Tempo's remixes on those city pop songs are always on point
this was definitely the time i was into city pop
but i was kinda ult to mariya takeuchi
Hmm
I should listen
Then figure it out
But yea, why not
I'm not the fastest at delivering but i'll give it a try
For funsies
For my cord gang
thanks! would wait for your rendition
Cool
I will say that
Mastering is weird
Like
The volume between verses and chorus makes a big leap
Also not suuuuper agree with some mixing desicions
But y'know
I'm enjoying it nonetheless
Yea, tbh i didn't payed much attention to structure on this
Just rollin with it
Yup if def there is smth with AF1 mastering, when Je Ne Sais Quoi, there is a huge volume drop between this two
AF1 has some interesting mixing decisions indeed. Bass department is definitely lacking which makes the midrange feel too crammed. The vocal effects clash with the synths bit too much imo. Also what I've seen more and more recently, vocals panned too wide, center doesn't feel well defined. Rest of the album doesn't have any of these issues tho, which is what makes it a bit weird.
Agree 100%
Crazy right?
Probably they didn't expected nerds like us to knit pick those issues
🤓 🤓 🤓 🤓
Still listenable
But a bit amateurish being kpop sooo high standars
Aye it's still fine, just weird when rest of the album sounds much better mixing wise.
But on to good things, damn I love the funky guitar fills on my secret playlist, so tasteful.
Yay
Kinda ambitious
Mixing some genres in there
But is true to the song concept of "playlist"
Some bossa nova or brazilian music low key influence on a section
yo
aint supposed to at 10am 😭
hey wtf shouldnt you be asleep
i actually am supposed to be asleep. i have theater rehearsals at 8am
Yuppp
Good vibes!
@azure trellis
So much good vibes

Still haven't make what hamsik asked me 😓 .... but i did this instead
Now that also UK Garage is on trend thanks to NewJeans
A frankenstain of beats i had on my notebook, drums from one, chords from another
gonna listen to it later

groovy bass
if you add a few more notes to that bass it'll be deep house lol
i love deep house sm
ah, perhaps i didn't tell you that this is a mashup
Sauces:
Oh My Girl - Summer Comes
Fifty Fifty - Tell Me
oh right i was assuming it was a mashup, i remember you saying all you could do was like chiptune i think?
not just chiptunes

RELEVANT DNB took down the video a few minutes ago but guess who still had an active tab for it! The legendary DnB meme song is back up.
EDIT : Yalllllllllll I never expected this channel to end up in meme history, but here we are! Thank you for the mention of my reupload on the Know Your Meme page omg : https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sweet-car...

I finally listened to the version up album and man y’all are right with the weird ass mixing
The chorus of my secret playlist could easily be like 1.7x louder
But the bossa nova section is so fucking cool
Mix is scuffed
full version!
Sauces:
Oh My Girl - Summer Comes
Fifty Fifty - Tell Me

I use the pack like everytime i produce
Sauces:
Oh My Girl - Summer Comes
Fifty Fifty - Tell Me (Inst.)
I HEAR IT

song ruined forever
Sorry! That was just my thoughts while listening to it
Bossa nova section still fire tho
Instrumental music
Instrumental music
I don't really get this, sounds plenty loud to me
Might be my equalizer, I don’t know, but the instruments are kinda eating it in my ears
I listened to it in a car too
I’ll give it another go when I get home but that was just what I was thinking
Ah, you mean the vocals are too quiet?
Yeah
The song is loud enough, except I kinda found myself straining a bit to focus on the vocals
Hmm maybe a bit in the second part of the chorus with the extra reverb but that's definitely intentional, still sounds fine to me. A lot of 80's songs have vocals run over by synths so I'm also somewhat used to it.
After relistening, I think I was probably having a difficult time because of road noise. But I still think the vocals could be a tad bit louder
Maybe like 1.17x louder
Well yeah car isn't usually a good place to listen new music due all the extra noise
Well if you really pay attention there is a thread with XX's vocal mixing, it seems is really the taste that JJ has in that regards
Really reverb-y, distant and low in the mix, which i've never like that much
I want members voices shine better
I felt that Lippie's vocals were the most affected by it, and Choerry got the best part from it, her voice sounds super refreshing, benefiting from the dreamy vocal production
Yeah it seems really similar to how he mixed that one OEC song which I forgot the name of
I think it was uncover?
Uhmm Loonatic has the more drawn out vocals out of those OEC songs
I should do a listening and compare properly
But the OEC releases had vocals pretty up front if i remember correctly
Yeah I forgot
test
I’m writing a choral piece
MuseScore version for those who wanna see the notes lol
can anyone recommend me some good Shoegaze songs/bands? I started a band with people i met online and we kinda tryna acheive shoegaze
Oh yea for sure
I love shoegaze
Ofc the first to check has to be My Bloody Valentine
They, Ride and Slowdive, kinda the big 3
thank uuu
I can pick some fav songs of mine if you want
yes pleasee
thankss
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5evzBK1k83wQcV8ZKAuEWI?si=6c450feb9b6441b0 @primal tree Hey hey i have the playlist
Idk if would be the most representative of the sound, but there is a bit of everything, mostly 90s albums, not much of a modern sound
Also there are various types of production and mixing styles, some more blown out and freaky, others more clean and dreamy, i tried to get a bit of everthing there
Shoegaze in a nutshell to me is sweet indie pop songs but drawn out in various types of distortions, reverbs and modulation effects, mostly with vocals really mellow and behind in the mix
thanks buddyy

Mean while, anyone can help me like extract Nakyoung's vocal line from this vid
I can't, the slight microtonal on the instrumental bugs me so much I just want to remix this with the correctly pitched instrumental
which vocal extractor/remover are you using ?
@fringe laurel
That's the software i have, and no it's not for those
I unironically like the wonky one better

Hello
I have a little trivia but it is only suitable for this channel
Who mixes this needs some lecture
The vocal microphone didn't go through the HPF
(High Pass Filter)
Therefore all low-end mouth plosives are heard when you hear this song through a subwoofer
7/8?
hmm, first two beats fit 7/8 at around 121 tempo, what tempo did you play at?
You know what I think I need to rethink this
I’m so confused
I need to figure out the back end of this
I have the first part figured out
I’m still getting 8 beats
At 138bpm 4/4 first two bars fit but rest falls of quite a bit
Did you play it with metronome?
Yeah
At what tempo?
Around 140 yeah
32nd notes are kind of an approximation
Something feels off
It definitely is off
I’ll have to re-record with a metronome later
So you didn't record with a metronome?
No, but I did practice it with a metronome
Ah I see
I’m intentionally lagging for the “32nd” notes
But the left hand is landing on the beat
I guess it should be more considered grace notes
The accent in the second beat is actually on the e
If you’re counting like 1 e + a
oops found another mistake
Gotta record with a metronome
I put markers on where you played on where you played first note of the beat and I hope you can see the grid where it actually is, it's almost there but not quite at 140 4/4
Yeah makes sense considering I didn’t record with a metronome
It also looks like your beats are longer than mine
Aye, always record with one unless you just wanna record some ideas before you forget them
Yeah this was an idea I didn’t want to forget
I just came across it somehow
No clue how
That's how music goes sometimes, for me at least. I have some interesting one night projects that I have no logical way of continuing, completely different styles than what I usually play but sometimes music just happens
I have the grid just set to 1 instead of 1/4 if that's what you mean
It can work if the piano is the only track, but gets difficult playing other instruments over it if it's not on time
I could see it working as a sample
And if I recorded this with midi it would be fine to line up the drums
But yeah it’s way easier to just record it with a metronome lol
It is indeed, but I wouldn't still jam only with metronome like many suggest. Often when I'm just jamming without any backing tracks or metronome I end up coming up with more interesting riffs that aren't just 4/4, but then I have to later figure out the time signatures.
Yeah, my riff was definitely having me questioning wtf it was
@solar canopy I recorded it with a metronome at 142 bpm
My digital doesn’t sound nearly as good as the grand though
Feels a tad fast though
I like 140 a bit better
Good Day (Special Daileee) if it was produced by Avicii
Are the pitch correction artifacts bothering y'all?:

Not necessarily, I'd be surprised to not hear any. Of course I'd rather take their voice with the imperfections, but since it's kpop imperfections are not allowed to exist in the seeking of a perfect image. Other than that, mid range seems a bit crowded, but overall I like it.
Yeah I agree with having to sound perfect in this genre, but it sounds to me like they just turned on autotune and picked a correction speed rather than doing any sort of automation or note-by-note corrections here and there. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't feel like paying someone to spend the couple extra hours but damn.
Did a 2nd listen. You know what? It's not bothering me nearly as much. Just on some of the longer sustained notes
I heard a little on the teaser and such. Computer tool breakdowns made them more apparent but in combination not too much noticable
I gave the whole EP a listen and I'm tearing up. It makes me so happy.
I know a Reaper when I see one
My man bought a Behringer audio interface
Reaper indeed. Not sure what makes you think behringer tho
