nah I think they should do a proper season and expand on the manga stuff a bit more, or add some more romance elements. most good memorable romance that I can recall off the top of my head didn't end with confessions and short epilogues, they often had that in the middle somewhere, and then developed it further. I don't really like the way the ones that end and resolve the 'conflict' with just a confession.

oh shit that episode of aobuta was peak ||so sara's puberty syndrome was that after getting rejected by her childhood friend, she started getting popular with all dudes, i assume as a coping mechanism to deal with the heartbreak, but as sakuta mentioned last week there's no point in being popular with a lot of people when the person you love doesn't love you the most, which is why this week when mai san explained that her love with sakuta was unbreakable, it got rid of her clairvoyance. Sakuta being the first person to reject her post-puberty syndrome probably spurred on some of her feelings as she tried to get with sakuta cause he was dating mai.||

demon slayer manga and anime gap is so insane, not a lot of battle shonen get this kind of treatment

this is why the new generation getting into anime because of ones like demon slayer are so quickly disappointed with everything else

yeah the gap is the biggest but i feel with most of the mainstream battle shounen right now like csm, jjk, demon slayer all have pretty top notch stuff

csm first season artstyle was very different from the manga, imo in a better way, but apparently for the next movie it's going back to the manga's style

ig i do see slight differences, s1 had a more darker and realer tone to it if it makes sense

but if i'm gonna be honest i don't see that big of a difference

it's really the shading, the eyes, the saturation, etc. that a lot of fans had problems with, but I really liked that style

anime should be improving on the manga after all

and CSM is pretty drab as a manga

look at kaoru hana anime going on right now, the art in the anime is very similar to the manga but a clear improvement

demon slayer ||i always really liked shinobu's justification for dying, but i never liked the fact that she died it felt a bit random. when i was reading i felt like the series ended out of nowhere||

really? I thought it was pretty straightforward, depicting the journey of adulthood and finding your own way in life, while still always having a home to return to

it's a basically a retelling of his personal story so i don't think a lot of people who haven't moved away from home for a lot of their life will be able to connect to in such a short amount of time, it was a solid watch, that ost was crazy

also looks like cloverworks expects this to be the end of anime adaptations for bisque doll

I am not sure if I should spoil it given you plan to eventually read the light novels, but honestly it was handled better when it was left vague like that in the anime rather than the questionable way it is explained in the novel. But if you do want, I'll give a quick explanation which might raise more questions than answers 😄

it's not a major thing, just changes how you might view ikumi from the original world as a character

Usually not too hard to find good translations especially for a series this popular, if jnovels isn't good enough I can scavenge through the subreddit or discord group

1-14 has official english releases already

and I wasn't aware, but there's an additional new volume sort of as an epilogue that just came out this summer

I would say it depends, for cote for example I used to check in occasionally to jnovels for any updates cause I just couldn't be bothered to go searching for it, translations be all over the place and sometimes some drop them and then I have to look for another

depends really, im on my 4th month now studying japanese and i can already understand most everyday sentences they use

Everyday sentence and translating novels are very different things lol

Yeah you have to make sure it's conveyed properly

Things can easily get lost in translation

Just like how for a lot of comedy it's just 100% funnier in the original language

No matter how good you translate it

There's just no 1:1 translation for certain things

but yeah at the end of the day just learn the language, how will i find time you ask, i have no idea

my life is already so full with real life things and then hobbies on top of that that it would require some serious restructuring to

be able to achieve that

i was able to learn korean again for awhile back then but i was still in uni so i had sem breaks lol

you just gotta be super committed

learning a language is a big task so you'd need to

invest a lot of time

at the expense of other things

to me, if you can communicate in the language, good enough

i know plenty of friends who can speak chinese fluently but struggle to write just cause the system is overly complicated lmao

it's traumatizing

i have genuinely shed tears over this as a child

people have stories of suffering from doing math as a kid, for me it was learning mandarin

see the problem is i grew up overseas

since i was 3

and i only came back when i was 12

basically that kid that's always constantly moving so they never truly have a "home"

a solid and perfect one

my french was actually getting pretty good like 7 years ago

but i dropped it cause i stopped having classes

but was fairly confident that if i continued i'd be pretty fluent

when it comes to chinese and malay it's all basic understanding

with korean as well i learned that for bit but it's mainly just reading and understanding basic sentences

essentially the same

i just don't know what i'd do with that language halfway across the world

so japanese always felt like a goal that would be easier to strive for since i consume that medium

hard to learn a langauge when you have no external motivators

was just basically telling the story of moving away from home and becoming independent, while still always having that comfort of having a home to return to

so it's pretty much a telling of garnt's personal story

I think the goal was more for the vibes, and the vibes were nice

i can kinda understand the convoluted part because they do kinda go back and forth to the present and the past

but besides that it was pretty straightforward

the girl's dad going on his own journey to euthania

I was like wait… so she’s older now? And why does she have wings?

and then later on in the future the girl having the same experiences

euthania is the name of that other world

you know when the dude and girl get into that weird tube

that transports them

it's a link between earth and euthania (other world)

so the guy at the start is travelling from earth to euthania

cause he wants to have his own experiences of travelling the world

the plot is essentially guy travels to euthania --> he encounters the girl as her family is getting killed --> he adopts her --> she travels to earth to experience new things

I think to put this much plot under 40 minutes was already a big task. Big props to Garnt for getting it done. All I can say it seems like a lot was cut.. like a lot. So if anything I guess I’m just excited what ideas he has in the future.

volume 4 is technically the end of "season 1" of the light novel, so that's actually more than most yuri series get with a proper conclusion to at least one whole segment of the story
