I would say it probably doesn't deserve that low of a score but since it's airing in Summer 2025, it is relatively lower quality than the many of the top shows this season.

I usually can consume a trashy romance manga/anime just fine, especially ones laced with comedy
but RaG is just hopeless slop, I don't even get the audience anymore aside from those who have invested years into the series and are just continuing on because of sunk cost...
supposedly early on, like first 3-4 years of the manga were decent-ish compared to the last 4-5 years

it's a shame too because Reiji Miyajima is actually a really decent artist and his setting and plots aren't too bad either, his character designs and developments are pretty great too, and he seems connected enough and his series are popular enough to keep getting anime adaptations and merchandising, but he just keeps on going with bait in his works instead >_>

between RaG and Shiunji Family Children, he has given the manga/anime world some of the nicest drawn and designed female characters in harem history lol
and Doga Kobo took Shiunji and made a really pretty to look at anime, even if it lacks any substance

I think in terms of anime I don't have any of them near, but if we include novels and manga I'd probably say I'm in love with the villainess just cause it's a fantasy setting, it feels like there's more focus on the romance rather than it's a girls love (hard to phrase but I love it when the romance just feels natural and not a this is different from hetero relationships), great world building, and it's got enemies to lovers
And then of course the magnum opus of the genre citrus
I've always been meaning to read otherside picnic but I still haven't got to it 6 years later
