As for this ||i think there's not really a way of saving it, cause the issue is the fact that Isayama kept the entire Eren thing a secret until last minute :T Unless they literally make him just be pure evil then there's nothing they can do||
||like my biggest gripe is that in no situation we know what Eren was thinking, we don't see his thought process and what led him to that ending. He just becomes a fucking sociopath and literally on the final chapter goes "haha but that was my plan all along xdd!". An example of this kinda arc handled well is Lelouch on Code Geass, at least to me, cause we see his struggles and what leads him to do stuff, what he's planning before it happens, etc||

The idea was fine but the execution was pretty bad imo, ||and it could be solved just by having us know what Eren was thinking all along.. Like, the reveal shouldn't be surprising to the audience, but for the characters. I think it would be much more effective of an ending if we actually knew of Eren's plan beforehand, cause then when his friends confront him it'd be much more powerful :/ But as it is it's just Eren going from DESTROYER OF WORLDS KILLED BILLIONS OF PEOPLE to a crybaby lol||
