I resubbed yesterday, didn't realize I haven't even done the newest alliance raid

I have to do a bunch of MSQs to get to that one, but I unlocked the 3 tribes first

Honestly forgot the Omnicron tribe was a thing

Didn't have too much time to play yet though, just put in a couple hrs here and there, much of which was spent with basic shit like HUD layout and hotbars

You can buy the gear with the weekly locked tomes and get the upgrade items from the alliance raid coins for 660 gear

for the weapon upgrade material you can either do p10s or do p12n for a few weeks for the token but getting the relic is probably easier anyways

I upgraded all jobs through hunt trains myself

I was skeptical about PF being able to clear the recent ultimates but apparently it can be done

At this point unless you really want the challenge wait for DT and do top as lvl 100 for the weapons

Ults always level sync you

Historically ults have still gotten slightly easier after a new expansion came out though, with all the job changes

It was quick but I basically put the same amount of hrs into top as I did with dsr. So if you have a static that does like 4-5 lockouts a week, then it took me 4 months with a regular static schedule

It just so happened that march and April were really light months for me job wise, so I put a ton of time in pf.

Around 100 hrs into it or 1500 pulls.

I think TOP is easier to do in PF than DSR because of auto markers allagan melon

Using that third party tool specifically for phase 5 is basically standard practice in pfs (and a majority of statics do it too)

The mechanics in question you can definitely do it without automarkers in a static with people either marking themselves or doing call outs

But trying to get 8 strangers with no communication to do it perfectly is tricky

So they just use auto markers

But TOP is a pretty tough fight. Thankfully, the hardest parts of the fights imo (because of automarker) are all in the first two phases

So you get a lot of practice with those phases

yeah like looper + pantokrator movement is actually tricky and there is flexing

and imo the hardest mech for me was party synergy in phase 2

because it is very fast

and you need to keep track of 5 things:

• your playstation marker
• left or right side?
• where is the safespot in relation to M + F
• where is the eye?
• is it long or mid

thankfully you don't need to figure out all 5 things before the mechanic goes off

you can find tricks/camera positioning to help you remember stuff easier

if you do end up doing TOP, I would recommend looking at a lot of POVs of phase 2 and just get used to finding the safespot

yeah! i will say that DSR is a really fun fight

and my static ppl also cleared TEA and they pretty much are unanimous that TEA and DSR are the best designed fights

they experimented with some mechs in TOP phase 5

but I really hope they go away from that stuff

because on the fly priority systems and constantly having to look at party debuffs is not very fun

also TOP has very little visual language

like in DSR when half the group gets doom, you can see it on their characters

but in TOP when some ppl have spreads and some have stacks, you can't see it at all

specifically phase 3 transition

also in TOP phase 5 you can solve the mechs by having 1 person just mark everyone really quickly

which is essentially automarkers for 7 ppl

and that's really not fun

and usually that responsibility goes on the healers

imagine if PF did that where the shield healer had the responsibility of marking everyone throughout all of p5

those groups would not fill lmao

Yeah UWU is still a tricky fight. Unfortunately since the community says it's the easiest fight to get an ultimate weapon (technically true), a lot of people who haven't even done savage are in uwu pfs

So you just get a higher % of players that don't know how to do late game content. Compared to the other Ultimates which have a higher barrier of entry.

SS ranks are only in ShB and EW

they have a 10% chance to spawn when an S rank dies and on Chaos and Light it pulls in a lot of people trying to join the hunt because it gives much more currencies

but over here people wait for S ranks like 5 minutes after it was announced and then they usually pull it for SS ranks they usually just wait for minion killers so the shout chat tends to be filled with people calling us selfish etc.

To be fair, most EW non-endgame stuff requires so little healing that it's very easy to go into auto-mode and just become a Holy bot

Sure, it's also for new people, but there's no shot that's the primary focus. What happened last expansion was that you could try and switch to servers that didn't have 30k queues, but there weren't enough servers so that didn't help too much

The problem last expansion was that the login server only lets in 50 people per 30s and each datacenter shares a login server. They eventually increased that to 75 but the amount of worlds doesnt really play a part in that

So maybe with that fixed the new bottleneck really is just the amount of worlds

And the conditional for the lvl 100 ability is on a 2 minute timer

Yeah if you play mostly solo, then your main focuses are the story, set pieces, music, and then content you can do by yourself like relic grinds (mostly), making money. They provide a pretty good, easy to use way to find pick up groups for harder content, but doing that isn't for everyone.

I have a lot of free time and patience. Pretty much the only reason why I can do any content in PF

Yeah and statics are a way for people with less free time to do harder content, but it's a similar crapshoot to PFs

The one major con to statics vs PFs is that if the static is bad you might not know til weeks into doing content with them and then you might be stuck with them for months
