uh the combat is a bit like sekiro

you basically have light attack, heavy attack, parry/perfect parry, perfect dodge (kinda like iframes but also not?), then two variants of dodging fatal attacks

the demo should still be up if you wanna give that a try

the skill tree leans heavily into attack combos and and chaining parry/dodge into combos too

It's all like, I really like the aesthetic and vibe of the game, but you know. The trial and error get a PHD in boss pattern study games are not really my genre.

It does have two difficulties

Normal and story mode

Dunno what story mode is like but normal is fun and offers a challenge

attacks are way more choreographed compared to souls games too

If you're good with timing and such you'll have a good time

I suck with remembering combo's, but all of the combo's are really cool

im breezing through new enemies first try for the most part, it only gets tough when you run into like 3 at once without the right beta skill up

you can mostly just button mash to get a combo that triggers the level 2 combo gear too

which is what im using

when you get up to ||the info dealer||, purchase everything to raise the affinity to level 3 which allows you to buy new suits

this one is the most out there one so far lol

the delay might be intentional but id think that's for some tech reason instead of being gameplay related

but there's also two points of no return, the first one locks you out of xion so you need to have everything in the city done before you progress past there, or else a lot of collectibles tied to side missions and requests become missable

I realized that to get the ng+ skills trophy you can just reset your attack, survival and tachy skill tree and use the points to buy the new skills

Then reset again to rebuy the base skills so you’re back to where you were

I mean, I had everything maxed out already so getting the ng+ skills isn't really a big problem :P

So I'll just get them whilst playing

Ng+ is really fun so far though. In most games it just feels like an afterthought. Like here's the game again but you keep all your stuff enemies have more hp now, enjoy

I like that in this case with ng+ ||enemy locations are different, there's more enemies, and all the gear and cosmetics and such have been replaced with new ones so there even is incentive to explore again. And you get more abilities as well even.||

i will say though, the ||mk2 gear is really fun, i ended up stacking attack speed mk2 and it almost changes the game||

||I didn't find it unfair, but I did definitively struggle with dodging or parrying some moves. Attacks sometimes a bit hard to read or hard to read what you have to do against them exactly. Other than that, fun fight, although a bit of a hp sponge :P||

tbf i suck at parrying so i block everything. only got retribution done twice in the entire playthrough up to here

I also suck at parrying and such, but this game really forced me to get good at it quick

I still struggle getting the full parry combo's in though, like the triangle + other button, half of the time I get the timing on that wrong or it doesn't really register well and instead I just end up doing a regular heavy attack or a dodge

Parrying is still a bit hit or miss for me, quite often I'm just a little bit too quick or a little bit too slow in a combo so I only parry the first like 2-3 attacks and then the rest still hits me. Or I get hit by the first few attacks and then parry the last 2

I got used to it pretty quickly on the playtest but yeah at first it was painful

Became more intuitive once i noticed the trail behind disappears when it becomes available again

It's basically the structure and simplicity of the gameplay loop on first game but heavily expanded

First game could also be a bit too complicated with the mirror setups and heat sometimes, very customizable stuff
You just get used to it when you get better at the game

I'm trying to not see much of it to not be spoiled

During the playtest i didn't think it slowed the pace down that much, same as the first game

Story beats, characters, progression systems are still missing/incomplete
