The really big games tend to require better systems to run, so if you are going to play those games you'll probably have a bit of a faster laptop rather than the cheapest of the cheapest that can barely keep itself alive and those tend to come with bigger ssd's as well. Below 1k is mostly 512gb but the moment you start going around and above 1k everything starts coming with 1tb+, and yes, even during the pandemic
