#New Phone UI

At the moment, Roblox chat is logically disabled, which means we can’t communicate with anyone from a distance. This limitation makes coordination, teamwork, and even simple social interaction much harder than it should be. Because of that, it would be a great idea to introduce a completely renewed phone system within the game. With an updated system, players could stay connected no matter where they are on the map.

The new phone could include a modern user interface (UI) with clear menus and smooth navigation so that sending messages feels natural and fast. Features like private messaging, group chats, notifications, and even status indicators could make communication much more effective. A well-designed interface would also improve the overall player experience, making the game feel more immersive and realistic.

Additionally, customization options for the phone’s appearance and layout could allow players to personalize their devices, adding another fun layer to the gameplay. By integrating messaging features through a refreshed UI and interactive interfaces, the game would not only solve the communication problem but also encourage stronger cooperation and community building among players.

This sounds really cool from a UI/immersion standpoint! Just curious - would the messaging features still follow Roblox's age-based chat restrictions, or is this meant to function differently? @cobalt sundial

I understand the appeal of an age-independent system from a gameplay standpoint. My only concern would be making sure it alights with Roblox's safety policies, since the age-based restrictions were implemented platform-wide for compliance reasons.

it violates them directly

# cobalt sundial But for example, in ERLC there is no age limit, everyone can talk to everyone.

Roblox’s age-based chat restrictions are platform-level safety policies. Individual games can design their UI differently, but they still have to operate within Roblox’s compliance framework. That’s why I was asking how an age-independent system would work within those limits.

Those restrictions were put in place for safety and compliance reasons, so I’m not sure games can override that directly.

I meant override Roblox’s core filtering/safety enforcement — I know some games use custom messaging systems.

Also I wasn’t trying to shut the idea down — I actually think it’s a cool concept. I was just thinking out loud about how it would work with Roblox’s existing systems. If there’s a way to make it fit within those limits, it could be really fun.
