As you progress you will want to aim for at least 3 heroes consisting of at least 2 archetypes per element. Currently you need another light and water class and 2 air heroes with at least 1 not a ranger.

  • Alaria reroll s3 for something defensive
  • Hans and Williams are good
  • Leonar fire, both s1 and s3 would need to be rerolled which s2 is good enough for but thats without seeing s4 which would need a soul which is not worth using
  • Aidan and Lorigan check s4
  • Grell fire later, s1 and s3 are weak but useable and not worth fixing for the same reason as Leonar
  • Juniper reroll s2 for attk%
  • Tammara is good
  • Amelia and Olwen check s4
  • Gigax reroll s3 for attack%
  • Corae reroll s1 for more attack
  • Joneleth reroll s2 for attk%
  • Aeric/Alduin/Kenora check s4

Do not use roland that early on

#

Important note right away:

You don't NEED to use Roland immediately.

We can only use his ability to choose a skill ONCE per hero so there is zero harm in holding onto that until you're absolutely sure you know what you want to do with it.

When you are ready, Roland's three best use cases are these situations:

  • When a hero is basically done. They're one skill away from perfection and you will never touch their skillset again. This should be the final thing you do - roll for any other skills you want FIRST and then use Roland to finish them off. It's highly recommended that you use the Hero and Quest Simulator here (use the "?simwhat" command on this server to see what you're looking for).
  • If you don't care about having truly perfect skillsets, then Roland is a good option to get the hero to a good place to where they won't have any issues clearing content.
  • You know for a fact you're going to fire the hero at some point. In this case, the single use per hero restriction doesn't matter because you're not keeping them anyway. Here, it's a good idea to swap out one skill to get a really strong one so the hero will be a better workhorse in the time you have them.
#

Yes they do

#

Which is why all classes are equally viable in the end game

#

Once you soul a T1-T4 class, they unlock all 4 skills

#

I would even say that a promoted T1 hero will be just as good or better than a promoted T7 hero

#

It really depends on the class though!

#

Aidan is fine, Lorigan is fine too but a bit less

#

Lorigan's set is building into crit because of S2/S3 so you want to get a weapon skill to further build on a critzerker

#

Rule of thumb for promotions

  • T1 / T2 classes (promotion absolutely mandatory)
  • T3 / T4 attackers (Huge benefits from the survivability bonuses and access to skill 4)
  • Ninja / Spellblades (Boosted innate makes a big difference)
  • T3 / T4 Fighters (They're fine for a long time, but access to skill 4 helps a lot)
  • Everybody else

T1 / T2 class:

  • You generally want as many mission critical tools as possible in the first two skills. Anything that's "nice to have but not mandatory" isn't ideal because it means you'll need to specifically aim for core pieces in later skills.

Important Note

  • Do not go around promoting a hero with bad skills just because the list says that they have higher priority 😛

#

I just went back to your roster and looked at the earlier heroes

#

I think you definitely could save your souls for the T3/T4 attackers

#

I'd consider promoting Tammara

#

ODC on S2 for Joneleth and Juniper

#

I'm about to head off to bed :p

#

I won't promote either of your knights yet

#

Anytime!

so couple things

  • use t1 names for skills so double cast and adept
  • not sure what guide your looking at since theres not really optimal skills
  • adept can only be rolled in s3 because your current skill of warlord is blocking the other epic weapon skills from appearing in other slots (but not bronze weapon skills)
  • rerolling either skill is not really worth it since the gain would be minimal

adept would let them use catalysts which are technically better than maces but not enough to make the change
for double cast its even less of a benefit because their innate gives a massive attack% boost which will be larger than double cast which is why this class is an exception to the weapon skill/attack% skill requirement and is also the best class to use double weapon skills because of that

worldly hamlet
#

Top rankings use all natural instead of double cast and those skill builds are ok for questing but not the most optimal

#

If you use leaderboard equipment, then it becomes even worse

radiant gull
#

current skills are good

#

looking at the gear in that screenshot that looks pretty old, thats t9 stuff

#

you could but wont really gain much

radiant gull
#

star power is useless for determining whether a hero is good and only has 3 uses: DI power, leaderboard and minimum power needed for quests

#

if your using the quest sim you want to look at rounds survived and average damage

worldly hamlet
#

It's not (If you're talking about the BiS page screenshot)

#

I specifically picked T14

#

And ignore star power

#

If you sim it with your teams, after a certain point you will see that the higher your star power goes, the lower your quest success rate becomes

worldly hamlet
#

T14 with water affinity > T15 without water affinity for geomancers

#

It has very slightly lower HP/DEF but you get 10% bonus attack in return

#

I very much agree! Which is why I'm spreading awareness through my articles and telling everyone who talks about star power on discord

#

A common thing I hear people talk about is that "You need to pair them with a good tank"

#

Which is fair because you're using squishy heroes so of course you need a good tank

#

I ran tests with a chieftain which has the highest threat in the game with a great skill setup

#

MY heroes in full flawless still outperformed max star power setups in full legendary gear

#

I tested with a conquistador using warlord + blurred movements + dance of blades + all natural and an astramancer with adept + double cast + impervious + all natural

#

One purely defensive skill for both heroes

#

People don't consider warlord to be "perfect" on conqs and they don't consider double cast to be "perfect" on astramancers either

#

But my heroes still outperformed hypermax setups in full legendary 😛

#

#💪|heroes-and-champions message

#

If you want to look at the workings

#

Not "perfect" because the "ideal" build is to run

Adept + All Natural + Death Dealer + Flex

#

Flex is either Impervious as a defensive option or telling blows as the offensive option

#

But do not build for this setup specifically

#

Double cast is still a good skill (Best damage option for all spellcasters except geomancers actually)

#

I built double cast on all three of my geomancers because I didn't know it was better to go death dealer but it's fine haha

#

It's fine

#

Usually you don't want it but geomancers can run double weapon skills pretty well

#

Definitely roll off S3 though!

#

I'll only talk about the ones that are level 35 specifically

#

Amelia, reroll S4 but her kit is fine because of S1-S3

Olwen, reroll S3 for a weapon skill

Aeric, reroll S3 for any non evasion skill

Kenora, reroll S2 for any weapon skill

Edit: Removed Alduin since I just realized that they're already level 38 so you've probably already gotten feedback on them

#

Alduin is great and I won't touch the set anytime soon

#

You could go all natural in S2 and be done with the hero

#

Since you mentioned Roland

#

People would prefer adept but don't underestimate warlord

#

Dual wields are amazing and warlord's 20% HP at T4 is very potent

#

Use Crushtacean Pincers once the hero is level 38 and can use T15 items

#

Apart from that, you want to copy from the BiS page

#

Replace weapon with T15 Dual Wield: Crushtacean Pincer

Important:

  • Enchant the gloves with T14 light element
  • Enchant the dessert with T14 dark element.
  • Enchant weapon, clothes, hat, spell with T14 water element
#

Dual Wield isn't shown but dual wields aren't considered one weapon

#

They are a combination of two weapons

#

In the case of Crushtacean Pincers, it is considered a Mace and an Axe

#

They can't

#

Because people might assume that it applies to all dual wields which may not necessarily be the case

#

Imagine they somehow make a Gun + Crossbow Dual wield

#

That would no longer be supported under warlord

#

No worries, it isn't intuitive at all

#

You'll want to check for all dual wields

#

Titan admiral arms can't be used because it's a Dagger + Sword combo and geomancers cannot use either

#

As long as the hero can use either one of the dual wield options, the hero can wield the dual wield

#

That's a dagger + axe iirc

#

Not a man but no problem!

#

For Aeric? Don't disregard bonus attack options either 😛

#

They may not be needed for geomancers but that doesn't make them bad

#

Just Roland all natural into S2

#

Warlord isn't "perfect" but I'd be happy with it
