#Roster review

Important Notes: Please read
- Do NOT fire more than three heroes at a time. If you see more than three heroes under the "fire now" category, assume that they have the same priority for being fired.
- The above note does NOT apply if you haven't filled out all hero slots for your available Merchant Level. If you can have 18 hero slots but only currently have 15 hero slots. Your biggest priority is to fill out those slots
- Heroes under "fire now" or "fire later" categories may have special notes attached which will say if they are especially bad or if you can keep them till last to fire
- Please don’t be shy to ask anything! I’m just a normal girl behind the screen, who loves helping people and totally down to explain stuff if needed!
Terminology
- Fire now: A hero with skills that are almost irredeemable and should be fired as soon as possible. Adds no value to the team right now, or are the weakest links of the roster.
- Fire later: Heroes that have no long term value, and that you will replace down the line. Typically split into high priority or low priority depending on how usable the set is in the short/long term. Assume high priority if unspecified
- ODC (One dice check): Using one skill dice to reroll a skill at a certain skill slot.
- S1/S2/S3/S4: Refers to the skill slot of a hero. S1 is the first skill for all heroes and is obtained at level 5, S2 is obtained at level 10, S3 at level 23, S4 at level 35. Note that some classes are only able to obtain up to S2/S3 naturally, without being promoted using titan souls
One last thing, before I begin the analysis! Could you please provide the following information?
- How many die of each tier do you have?
- What are your goals? Good enough heroes, great heroes, perfect heroes (eventually)
Roster statistics:
Archetypes:
- 7 Red
- 7 Green
- 7 Blue
Elements:
- 4 Water (At least two archetypes
) - 2 Earth (At least two archetypes
) - 4 Fire (At least two archetypes
) - 5 Air (At least two archetypes
) - 2 Dark (At least two archetypes
) - 4 Light (At least two archetypes
)
Hero slot: 21/21
Quest slot: 7
For elemental coverage, you need another earth and dark hero. You will need to choose between one of the following pairings
- Dark Knight + Wanderer
- Dark Knight + Druid
- Wanderer + Sorcerer
- Druid + Ninja
As for heroes themselves, assume that a hero not mentioned is fine
Knight2
- Reroll S3 for something more defensive or fire if this hero isn't up to your current standards
Ranger1
- Reroll S3 for something more defensive
Samurai1
- Check S4 but you need bonus attack here. This hero is also a fighter so they want to be able to tank, so consider rerolling S3 for something more defensive after you check S4
Berserk 3
- First three skills are hybrid skills so you should ideally get a weapon skill, reroll S4 for any weapon skill
Ninja1
- Reroll S1, you already have a weapon skill in S2 and stacked weapon skills aren't good
Dancer 1
- Reroll S1, you already have a weapon skill in S4 and stacked weapon skills aren't good
Dancer 2
- Reroll S3, you already have a weapon skill in S1 and stacked weapon skills aren't good
Velite1
- Reroll S4 for almost anything other than that
Sorcerer1
- Reroll S1 for more bonus attack, crit, or a defensive skill
Chronomancer1
- Reroll S1, you already have a weapon skill in S3 and stacked weapon skills aren't good
Note:
- All three geomancers have stacked weapon skills but geomancers can make use of stacked weapon skills so I skipped over them
Hi Yuki! Thanks for the quick response. I currently have 10 basic die, that’s it.
My goal is to get great heroes. Maybe perfect heroes with enough time.
On your recommendation for another earth and dark hero - should I fire knight2 and another hero or just wait till I level up and get more hero slots to fill up?
Thanks for all the recommendations. I’m Gona try re rolling after they finish the current quest. Can I check back with you here after I’ve rerolled based on your suggestions above?
Of course!
I would wait till you level up to fill hero slots
Knight2 can be a great hero but is lacking defensive stats, so I recommend doing a ODC on S3 if you haven't used Roland on them yet (Once you get the die that is)
Knight2 - I haven’t used Roland on them. Should I use Roland first?
Ranger1 - done
Samurai1 - ok will check after I level till 35!
Berserk3 - done
Ninja1 - done
Dancer1 - done
Dancer2 - done
Velite1 - do you have a recommendation? I haven’t used Roland on him
Sorcerer1 - done
Chronomancer1 - done
@astral jay
For knight2 it depends on if you want to fire them eventually or keep
If you want to fire eventually, just use Roland
Otherwise, keep for now
For velite I won't use Roland yet
Important note right away:
You don't NEED to use Roland immediately.
We can only use his ability to choose a skill ONCE per hero so there is zero harm in holding onto that until you're absolutely sure you know what you want to do with it.
When you are ready, Roland's three best use cases are these situations:
- When a hero is basically done. They're one skill away from perfection and you will never touch their skillset again. This should be the final thing you do - roll for any other skills you want FIRST and then use Roland to finish them off. It's highly recommended that you use the Hero and Quest Simulator here (use the "?simwhat" command on this server to see what you're looking for).
- If you don't care about having truly perfect skillsets, then Roland is a good option to get the hero to a good place to where they won't have any issues clearing content.
- You know for a fact you're going to fire the hero at some point. In this case, the single use per hero restriction doesn't matter because you're not keeping them anyway. Here, it's a good idea to swap out one skill to get a really strong one so the hero will be a better workhorse in the time you have them.
