#Banned over inactive account, help needed.

I contacted Kabam support to ask them with help in deleting my inactive Android Shop Titans account. It has been inactive for 1+ years. Maybe even 2 + years. It's been so long I don't know how long ago I last actually played it. I explained to them that I had signed up with a steam Shop Titans and had been playing on my steam account. I had only recently realised that I could access the Kabam sign-ins and link my steam account to Kabam. So I contacted their support and asked if my old inactive account could be deleted so I could sign my steam Shop Titans up with Kabam.

They responded by banning my inactive account and banning my steam account from the market, removing 2500 diamonds and then proceeded to tell me in order to have access to the market again I would have to pay them the US dollar amount of 2500 diamonds.

I was very confused and shocked. They said that in the TOS it states very clearly that multiple accounts weren't allowed. But when I looked over the ToS the only instance I see Multiple Accounts mentioned is an area that says it is up to Kabam's discretion to decide what is fair play including the instance of looking into Mulitple accounts.

I tried to plead my case and tell them that my old account had been inactive for a very long time and I had only been active on my steam account. But, they quoted me the ToS part that said they are allowed to ban my account and needed no reason to do so.

I'm really shocked and upset by this. I've been playing this steam account for 1 or 2 years or something like that with 1,600+ hours on it. I've even purchased two packages on it.

Is this standard and happens a lot? I thought it was my own ignorance to the TOS but when I read it over, like I said, I couldn't really find what they were talking about.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Banned over inactive account, help needed.

Well, innactive doesn't mean it doesn't exist, you could have deleted it through the settings (granted it comes with a 30d timer) or connected it with steam and played that one on steam to begin with
As far as ToS goes, this part covers it, the "operating and playing on multiple Accounts for one game" part

#

Negative gems and ban of alt is their standard practice in this scenario
normally the older account is kept as the active while the other one is banned regardless of progress or purchases on either of them.

Exactly as Ash said. "Inactive" is irrelevant, as we also don't allow for multi-accounts just because you wanted to start over. You wrote in to us with a direct terms of service violation, and it was actioned as all such violations are.

Thank you both so much for replying to this it means a lot. So with what you are saying, if I made an account but lost access to it for whatever and made another one, in that scenario I would be banned and charged to pay diamonds as compensation?

Is there anything I can do pertaining to this? I did not create a multiple account for nefarious means. I thought that the android shop titans and steam shop titans were separate. As in they required separate accounts because they were separate platforms.

Again I greatly appreciate both of your replies to this!

It's pretty hard to lose access to account considering they are tied to platform (you'd have to lose access to platform too) and in that scenario I imagine you'd contact support 1st about recovering account before making a new one.

#

As for the other part, that's a question for Tristan.

Pretty much as Ash said, with a bit of practical inability to enforce the rules on the side. So if you made an account, lost access to it, and made a new one, technically that would be against the rules. But (especially if there's a sizeable time gap between) the odds of you getting caught for doing so are virtually nil, which makes it a non-issue in most cases. If caught though, you'd be actioned accordingly.

As for anything you can do pertaining to this - it depends on what you qualify as "do"! You can pay off your negative gems and get the market ban lifted, absolutely. You can continue to use your singular account as normal, with the exception of leaderboard functionality. But in terms of getting it revoked/reversed? Unfortunately not, no. While you claim you had no nefarious intent (and I see no reason to disbelieve you) I'm sure you can understand why our policy can't be "let the user out of the consequences so long as they tell us they didn't mean anything bad by it." The nature of the action itself pretty much rules out the person actioned from being able to say/do anything to get out of the consequences for it, because if there was a thing you could say/do to get out of it, as soon as word got out everyone who got actioned would simply say/do that thing. Consistency is key.

Again, thank you thank you for your replies. I understand the reasoning behind the actions much better now and that sadly it is difficult to know if someone is telling the truth or not so everything must be kept consistent.

I don't know if this is an okay place to request this or not. But .... is the account that was banned, may I have that banned lifted and placed onto ... ? ..... is the account I had marked for deletion, ..... is the account I wanted to keep and have been playing on steam it is very important to me. But I am banned on ..... Is this possible? Thank you.

Afaik the usual way it goes is that they let you keep the oldest account and other(s) get banned.
Not sure if they do exceptions though.

Oh no... gosh I hope they will because as I mentioned in my original post I have not used the one account in years the other one is my main account...

broken osprey
#

That's the exact reasoning, yeah

#

Your oldest account is typically deemed your "main" account, because we don't allow you to make a new one to restart in the first place

#

That said, one of the main situations we make exceptions for is when the newer account has had real money spent on it and the older one has not. While it's still not okay and still ultimately actionable, that tends to sway which one we consider the main. And that looks to be the case here.

The newer account that I made on steam was the only account I made purchases on. I liked the steam platform more and stuck with that account. I hadn't gotten far on the other one. I purchased two different workers (The dragon moonstone worker & the familiar worker).

One more question before I close this as being solved! Right now I am -2500 diamonds, if I pay cash equal to the 2500, does that return my previous diamonds that I had already earned prior, or do I have to start out with 0 diamonds after paying the negative -2500?
