#auto surcharge not happening as often as it should

I have been counting all customers in between auto surcharges the last few days and found out they auto surcharge on average every 104th customer, i'm no math person but i'm pretty sure this is way less than 10%, more like a bit under 1%. I was considering respeccing my talents but some of my guildies seems to have it working fine, they are making big money of this talent so i'm thinking maybe I'm bugged? I have plenty of stuff in my shop for all types of customers and have a lot of customers running through. Anyone else have this issue?

Just out of curiosity, what tier of items do you have on display? There is a limitation where if you yourself do not have a large enough max energy pool to surcharge the item, the customers will not either. t13s would be out based on your energy pool.

I have a bit of everything but mainly t10-13

You'll really need to take every t13 customer sale out of your testing data since your energy pool is not high enough to surcharge those.

It does make sense except that I have had t13s that's been surcharged, i remember clearly because it felt like cheating when 4k+ items where auto surcharged 😂

It can happen if you don't have the total energy needed but it's a very rare trigger - testing on that part has indicated it fires at a heavily reduced rate. The design intent (as stated by Kabam) is that it's not meant to trigger at all on items you can't afford to surcharge. As R2Dae2 said, you'd need to remove from display any item you don't have the energy to surcharge when testing for the activation rate of Brand Loyalty.

So I did a quick test of the talent for 1,000 consecutive customers. I didn't notice any problems with the talent, it actually came out slightly above advertised rate but that'd fix itself when tested to a larger degree in time.
The important factor I think was that I always had more than enough max energy to surcharge. As I mentioned earlier you will not get many procs on items you can't normally surcharge (the fact you get any at all I'm pretty sure is a bug based on what Kabam have said before.)

A note about statistics. When you have a 10% chance of an event happening, some people think that with 100 Rolls you will get 10 results. however, this is a misconception.

the 10% chance applies as a roll for each customer. for statistical purposes this does mean that if you have a very very large number of rolls you can reasonably expect that about 10% of your many rolls will hit a surcharge. but in any small number of roll attempts, even a couple hundred, you can have a vast difference in real world results.

you should get at least couple items surcharged out of a 100, but lately I feel the chance for that has dropped significantly. Previously I was around avarage so 1/10 but these last few days it's felt more like 1/100
