For now, nobody really knows how the king works. It’s all about speculations about the conditions the king will show up and when.
A good feature would be a king panel. Somewhere where we can see the last time the king showed up, how many items he’ll pick, and more importantly, the conditions of king’s appearance as a check list or something.
There could also be the list of items he could pick from, but that’s not really important

There are speculations about what makes the king come after 24 hours wait. You can see it very easily during the pass events, missions are that the king comes 12 times in a months. For some reasons, the king sometimes doesn’t come for days and you can’t complete the mission, even with all the speculated conditions are met.
Besides, I already saw multiple times a king coming when another village member is in your shop. Nobody knows why the king will come after exactly 24 hours, or after 50 hours, and that would be nice if it was clarified in game.

I’m not saying that, I’m saying that for a very long time it was unclear.
But then, how does the timer work? I mean, sometimes you really have to wait almost 2 days

I see it’s from October. My bad I didn’t stay up to date, it’s cool that they made it more consistent
I wrote that suggestion because it would be nice to have the last time the king showed up, and then I also thought about all the times the king was inconsistent during an event pass, but it was quite a while ago

Yeah before then he was very sporadic
Think it was the 2nd content pass? There were issues around him
But since the cooking update he's more reliable now
I mean they could add a timer in-game anyway but we do know how he works now 😛

yeah, a kind of light that lights up when ready, and greyed when not ready. And when you tap the gray one, it shows the timer
SOmething like that, you tap it and a text displays the timer
