It should be encouraged to merge guilds. Why not have a guild merge tool.

Instead having a gazillion guilds looking for members. Have them look for merges instead 😄

There are too many stubborn guild leaders and unreasonably loyal members in mid-low guilds who refuse to give up their guild and move on, not understanding that moving up is much more beneficial to both parties. And most higher end guilds only ever need 1 player at a time.

Damn yea, I’ve been getting a lot of invites from high leveled guilds and whatnot, every time I message something in public chat, and it seems enticing, but I really wanted to grind it out with my friends, but you’re spittin fax Stryker

There is a huge problem with merging guilds, all players are not looking for the same gaming experience, merging should be discussed between humans and handled manually I don't see a tool regulating guilds.
Say a guild merge tool tells your leader hey I ve got 5 members to replace your 5 inactive ones, they match the investment, you lose nothing.
Fine let's go, inactives are instantly replaced with the new members, who don't like the guild name and leave after 1 hour. Total loss.
And that s just an exemple it could be worse than that, 5 players again, they ask to get 1 officer after a week, and that officer fires every member of the guild in the middle of the night, guild totally broken.
Some players are not playing
Coop out there, guild jacking do happen. And examples similar to that do happen every day.
The way the Town Hall functions to open guild spots can prevent fixing a guild or even a merger if you don't do things the right way.
Now if you guys have an idea how to find the good merger and how to make it happen EASILY.
Please go ahead and explain. Maybe Kabam can make it happen.

Basically it would just be a mass migration tool. No need to over complicate it.

It is after all up to the GM's to the decide what to do. There is a leader for a reason. It is not like it is a democracy.

GM's of both guilds have to approve or if you want to make it more democratic this can also be done. With everyone having 24 hours to say yes or no and the majority wins.

Only requirements would be. Who the new GM will be and what guild should be the one taking over. And there needs to be free spaces left to merge into et c.

It's really not hard to move members across for a merge, this a very niche thing that doesn't need adding IMO, plus what if a member wants to stay behind to take over the guild you're moving from

We have too many guilds. I think it would be great for the game to make guild consolidation/merge a thing.

With a merge tool it would just be easier. All in one go. All members at once. Instead of one trickling in here and there.

I think a mechanism where if 2 guilds merge they get some kind of bonus, like extra renown or something. In this case I am thinking that neither guild would exist after the merge, and any members that do not join the merge would be kicked and forced to find a new home.

#

A lot of guilds "merge" but then the remaining members try to keep the old guild together and enter the never ending recruitment pool

I am thinking about something, auto kick after a certain period of inactivity, which would actually force guilds to recruit and probably merge.

#

AH nvm the way the Town Hall works may prevent recruitment with that logic....

#

Really not easy to come up with a great solution or a tool....

Another game I played "froze" investments after a while of inactivity, so let's say after 2 weeks inactive your invests are only worth 75% of their value, at 3 weeks 50%, and so on that way the guild isn't floundering at losing it all at once but it pushes you to recruit.
