Cut or lowshelf everything under 30hz or maybe 40hz... make sure your low mids arent fighting things in the mix... sidechaining is your best friend
The song you mentioned it has only the bass playing there arent many instruments going on not even kick so it is not a big deal to do that
If you are planning to add elemnts use sidechain and eq sidechain if possible and also carve frequencies in the bass according to the kick to give some room
dont forget simple volume... easy to forget that sometimes the bass is just to loud and eats all energy.
