#What’s the best way to start creating electronic, metal, and cinematic music on a MacBook Air?

In addition to my title, I also want to start creating music without experience or instruments.

Hi everyone! I've always been inspired by the music from FNF and Geometry Dash, and I dream of creating my own tracks similar to artists like Monstercat Instinct, MDK, DJVI, and more.

However, I struggle with demotivation and don’t know where to start. Despite looking up tutorials, I find it hard to grasp music theory and I have little experience with FL Studio and its plugins. I want to start from scratch, although I’ve gained some experience. I mainly use my piano, but I prefer the keyboard channel on FL Studio. Currently, I just have a MacBook Air with FL Studio and stock plugins, but I hope to get more plugins in the future. Any help would be appreciated!

· Kontakt 7/8

My budget would be $900.00. Once I have enough, I will buy those plugins I wished to have, and the amount I would spend is around $800.00, and that leaves me only $100.00 left, by which I would use the leftover budget to purchase the ALABS XLR Podcast Microphone for voice recording or making lyrics, which is somewhere under $70.00.

Here's a list of things that I want help from you guys:
1. Write the most important following steps on where I should start before, and then now.
2. Create a list on which where I should start and all the way to the end.
3. Show me the most recommended links that better fits for me (Online Courses/Lessons like Udemy for example).
4. Recommended me the plugins that I would need for my journey (Try not to give out expensive plugins).
5. Give me any tips to help enhance my skills.
6. Send me the packs that you think is better to use.
7. If you think that classical music is the perfect contributor, please add it to the list, but no psychical instrument in real life please.

If you can help me become the best musician I could ever imagine in my mind, I would be so grateful, and thank you for all the support!

I'd firstly say: don't get any expensive plugins at the moment, they won't benefit you if you don't know what you're doing + maybe you don't even need some of them. A serum alternative is vital, it's a free synth, pretty similar, so far i haven't had the "need" to buy serum, it honestly won't make your music better imo. So i'd stick to free and stock plugins for the time being, there's no need to waste money if you might not even need the plugins.

For starting out, i would suggest you to learn how to make chords, melodies and arpeggios (also known as "arp/arps"). Personally i would then move to arrangement and learn a little bit there. After that you should learn some basic plugins, like how to use a compressor, an Equalizer, a limiter, reverb & delay, distortion and also learn Maximus (FL stock plugin, it's a multibandcompressor).

When you know all that, you might wanna watch some tutorials on Sounddesign (for vital/serum, whatever you have) and learn some basic Sounddesign.
