#getting harder drums

What up @shrewd jetty maybe I can help.
A saturator and limited on the drums master bus helps a lot, I like Decapitator into an L2. You can also experiment with gluing before the limiter with the SSL master buss compressor.
if you want purely harder drums SSL G comp wouldn't be my first choice, tho it can still work great, i'm partial to using an 1176 or a fairchild on a drum bus, for a more subtle beefing up then i would pick the SSL on the good old 4:1, slowest attack, auto release, or something a bit more intense but in parallel
I would recommend you to find better drums. It's hard to tell what it is you really want. But some good samples seldom need much or any extra effects to sound "hard".
Some things you can try:
- Paralell Saturation with EQ
- Paralell Compression
