Personally I'm a big fan of Shreddage. I personally use Shreddage 3 Hydra, and it's pretty solid. Here's one of my beats that I used it pretty heavily on:

It can be a bit expensive if you're working on a budget, but I think it's worth it if you want a good guitar sound.

Personally I mostly just use the Brit Crunch preset, but I believe theres gonna be different ones depending on which Shreddage instrument you're using, since they all model different guitars. Best thing I can suggest is to play around with the presets and find what works best for you, but also make sure to experiment with the keyswitches so you can see how different articulations sound within those presets. It took me a while to figure out until I actually took the time to watch some videos on it, but once you figure it out it's pretty great.

That's two separate guitar tracks, one playing rhythm and a lead for the soloing.

Trying to do rhythm and lead in the same track will usually just come out weird, although you can experiment and get some interesting results.
