Hi, i'm HT, and started my beat making journey 2 days ago.
I need help understanding what notes are and how to create melodies.
I've watched a few videos on how to create melodies and noticed things like "go 12 notes up/down" and etc. but i don't really understand what it does and how to use it.
I want to make a rap beat and my daw of choice is bandlab.
What are notes and how do make melodies?

to be very transparent and straight forward, a "note" is just a consistent frequency of sound
when you press a key on a piano for example, the string vibrates at a consistent frequency and that sound you hear is the piano playing a note
you make melodies by stringing together these notes at various timings and there you go
