I feel like NOLA would be fun to live in but after awhile I may get extremely sick of it. I think I enjoy it because of the culture and some of the chaos of neighborhoods like the French Quarter, but I also get enough of that living in our nation’s capital

I'm chiefly of the opinion that Nola is a reflection of a lot of Louisiana but that the individual histories of other places in this state have been widely disregarded and failed by the school system

It’s crazy because so many people I know from around here and that I went to highschool with or who are going into college now are all looking at Southern schools and my family down South is so confused about why that’s so popular all of a sudden. Like in highschool there was this kid I had a class with whose dream school was Tulane and maybe I’m not keeping up with popular colleges but that felt kinda random to have as your #1

Though I guess ultimately it depends what you wanna do and where you wanna be

Big thing down here is the agriculture and engineering schools, the petrol industry on the river and in the Gulf means we get a lot of money into programs that might contribute to said industry

Idk the more I learn about it the more it feels like Nola is sort of a bubble of a dying culture if that makes sense. Maybe that’s like an overstatement or under informed but I can’t imagine there’s like many people around that still actively speak Creole or keep up that culture
