bit late to this party, but I was sooo drained after the EU tour last night (it finished at like 2.30am my time). Just want to say it was a pleasure to once again stream some truly amazing games. Huge congrats to -1-, must admit I really didnt expect them to tip the apple cart so dramatically, what with turning over ZGS & JON3S! The games in the Grand Final were nailbiters and its always an honour to have a front row seat!

headshots arent as reliant as rng compared to blitz, in fps/tps games there’s set spray patterns for guns and the accuracy of the first few bullets fired by a gun can be increased by counter strafing, blitz has too many rng elements like racks and fires. if you wanted tournaments to be as fair as possible the coding from realistic would have to be transferred to the tourney setting while keeping the spotting mechanics untouched. this way tanks would have the consistent average damage and pen values instead of an rng +- element but that’ll never happen.

Why not changing the spotting mechanic? In addition to settings applied in realistic mode, making shots less RNG dependent can help at some extent. But for that case wg also needs to introduce wind effects in addition to current gravity imo. I dont expect such huge changes tbh, the "luck" factor is loved in company side.

Idk how exactly tungsten works but wargaming adding tungsten to the vk72 makes things look even scarier for rng racks lmao. Another thing wargaming might have the racks and stuff for an entertainment factor for the viewers like maybe to get a “wow” reaction out of em who knows. @tired sapphire i actually like the spotting mechanic for tournaments it makes teams play more carefully since u don’t wanna be spotted for 20 seconds

Again, i am not directly against anything, i just write my personel opinions but realistic battles spotting mechanic can make the matches more "interesting" to watch.

BUT yeah, that makes new soviet tank less useful and dangerous. Also realistic battles have auto-aim issue at last time. You dont need to "be able to see" the enemy after you locked that target once (at least in mobile).

@tame bone the thing with comp is you have the best players in every server fighting each other right so even when scenarios look lost players are more than capable of clutching things up. For example rgn vs pramo blitz cup 2021 on Castilla dragon krieg clutched like a 1v2 or 1v3, so u can never count a team out. @green orchid yeah u would think the game company would want that Lmao tbh tho if it was what they wanted it would’ve happened ages ago, ammo racks hve been a problem with the e5,60tp,is7 and now apparently t100 lt

But tbf, if you're running protective kit + defense system, that reduces the chance of a 1 shot ammorack to 0% but yea you need to compromise on one of the provisions @sinful crest

Hi wg pls announce information of next tournament as soon as possible.

And try to make top 16 stage —> top 8 stage —> top 4 stage
This last format was rlly nice we just missed the top 8 stage.
In top 16 stage You could make 2 teams from each group advance instead of 1. So you have 8 teams and not 4. Then you make a 2 days long top 8 stage (or you could go for a round robin, will be longer but more fair results) and after that a typical top 4 stage.

Thats my opinion , the length of this tournament was nice. If you make it my way it would last 2 days more, so it would be a 9 days tournament = really nice . Have a nice start of the week

I don't see why everyone has such a huge issue with adding an inclusive tournament to the yearly schedule, nobody loses anything apart from maybe some ego.

Pc vs mobile regardless of opinion, is realistically an unfair playing field. Touch vs Kbm have their own trade offs in feel but pc has controllable zoom which in some rare cases can be useful. Overall I think it’s more about a consistent and level playing field if large amounts of money are on the line. Also, if you want to play pc, that game exists separately. We have pc on wotb because it’s an extra source of players and income for wg

Wargaming next season if u make a tournament like money blaster, u should make a rematch/last chance for third places from the 3th day of money blaster open. This makes it more fair and interesting for the clans who had stronger opponents. There's no need to change the big tournaments, there's just no reason to not include an intermediate tournament where you actually have a decent structure rather than coin tours or quick tours which are basically farming exercises. Money doesn't have to be included in the rewards at all. PC is a very different game as we have to keep telling people who want artillery and things to be buffed/nerfed to PC levels, and you could equally tell mobile only players to go to a different tank game that is mobile only.

WoTB is available for different platforms, but this can not be a reason to hold professional tournaments with PC players. When Wargaming introduced the game, it was intended for touch device users.
The PC is superior to the phone, and the player can have more control (especially for that manual zoom). On the other hand, the PC may not be available to everyone at any time and place while the phone is.
If we want to bring the PC into the comp scene, what is the reason for playing on the phone?

Touch devices players chose to spend money on will still be useful for other tournaments, if someone doesn't want to play in the extra tournament then they won't, it won't impact them at all. What it will do is open up the tournaments to more people and encourage more players to join and take things more competitively.

@gray pond A high level mobile player will still be a high level player, there will just be more competition which isn't a bad thing apart from for people's egos like I said before. You won't have to play on a PC at all, and many players are more comfortable on mobile and will stick with it given the choice. There will still be every other major tournament that people regularly participate in for people to play on mobile so plenty of reasons to play on a phone. It might even be good training for mobile teams to come up against very different teams with different advantages and disadvantages. There's still no valid reason that's been raised to not include all control types in a different tournament.

The issue with those is they are literally just farming opportunities rather than actual tournaments. You get half random teams or good players going with 7 batchats for memes rather than anything serious. There's a space for a mid level mixed control tournament rather than restricting it to low level.

Ammoracks do have fixed positions. Learn where they are and hide them/expose less is a valid comment.

Also - RNG management (risk management) is basically comp 101... ammoracks be one end of the scale - peaking (time window exposed to incoming fire) sidescraping (angling to compensate against enemy pen - aka pen RNG and aim RNG), etc. - are part of the other.

If your team, as 7 players, in 7 minutes max, versus 7 other players, in AT LEAST 3 games (assuming Bo5 - fair that Bo3 sucks) are not creating enough skill opportunities to win, then the enemy deserves the win whether you like it or not.

Each player is shooting X times per minute, and being shot at Y times per minute. Multiply by 7 players in your team. By minutes per battle. Multiply against enemy 7. x 3 battles. The number of statistical events in a Bo5 fixture is VERY HIGH. Ammoracks don't decide it. They are just the obvious things people latch on to.

Case in point, PRAMO winning on NA MBO - PRAMO vs HATED. Despite ammoracks, they won.

The gripe is if two teams are quite evenly matched, it sucks when the match will be purely decided on ammoracks.

Your case in point brings two teams who are not evenly matched. The instance that most people were referring to is Pramo v. Jkr, where if you remove the games containing Ammoracks the score is 2-2.

Also, if you are pushing in an is7, and you get full hp racked, that is not a skill issue. I am specifically referring to our games vs JKR. The one game we won we full hp racked one of their pushing is7s. Despite JkR be an enormously stronger team, a 6v7 is not winnable at a certain level.

I’m not arguing for the removal of ammoracks, I just think it’s unfortunate that Wg decides that the 3 most meta tanks all get bad racks.

I can’t think of a single positive that ammo racks provide. They’re not a measure of skill since you can shoot 2 60tps in the same spot, racking one and only doing damage to the other. And it’s not a minor issue like E5 meta where it was occasional; every second game in blitz cup had an ammo rack. I think even if you want to cancel ammorack, you should find other ways to balance tanks. I'd also like to say, similarly to what assassin has been saying, when the abilities of teams are close ammoracks (from high hp) absolutely are game changing. You streamed a game of ours (ponda) against pramo that is a perfect example of this. One full hp ammorack on a flanking light and a 6v7 where we probably get 6-0ed turns into a game we win very clearly. Beyond just having a massive effect on the HP pool of a team and taking away an entire gun from the fight ammoracks come with a entire morale shift that imo doesnt belong somewhere where money is on the line because it comes down to the smalest amount of chance.

If a single ammorack can swing a game that was already certainly going to be win or a loss to the opposite it honestly doesnt belong

Furthermore, hiding your ammorack spots is not something u make happen whether u want to or not. Certain things need to align for that to happen and the whole thing is very situational. You can try to reverse sidescrape in a is7 or 60tp to avoid giving ur enemy shots to ur rack but again thats situational and in most brawl situations it is much more ideal to just try to take the hits and either kite ppl from brawls or try to hug against hard cover to buy as much time both of which the enemies will most of the time have shots to ur rack anyways. Most top teams will try to block u from escaping or try to burn u down with focus fire but getting full hp racked saves them so much time and gives the rest of the enemy team opportunities to shoot other ppl on ur team.

Listen guys I have the solution. Nerf 60tp module damage per shot. It is currently 600 dmg to modules. Ammo rack hp is 600 therefore it is a 50% chance of detonation if hit directly.

This last format was rlly nice we just missed the top 8 stage.
In top 16 stage You could make 2 teams from each group advance instead of 1. So you have 8 teams and not 4. Then you make a 2 days long top 8 stage (or you could go for a round robin, will be longer but more fair results) and after that a typical top 4 stage.

Thats my opinion , the length of this tournament was nice. If you make it my way it would last 2 days more, so it would be a 9 days tournament = really nice . Have a nice start of the week

Also, if you are running Protective Kit + Improved modules, the ammorack HP will be 254.1 and the max possible hit you can take is 253.75 (203+25%) making it impossible to red ammorack you in 60TP vs 60TP engagement.

I checked and the same holds true for IS7 as well if you have set it up correctly

Wont work in situations where ammorack is damaged and then repaired since the repaired HP will only be 140 instead of the normal 210 HP

215b can't get ammoracked almost, does it make a good cw out of it? i dont think so, it is just a reliable tank when it comes to module resistance, but it comes with less efficiency and performances unlike 60TP and IS7 which come with the best performances but a less reliable ammo rack, players will tend to rely more on tank performances than module resistance because it's quite unlikely it'll explode, even tho the chances of it happening are the highest

the sad part is that we have to sacrifice the fun of playing a powerful tank for a likely ammorack explosion, which means the win or lose condition is based on RNG more than before (f.e E5 before its nerf)
the skill requirements to get to high level has drastically decreased since 2 patches imo considering the amount of ammoracks that happened during the tournament, we used to complain about the E5 having a weak ammorack, but now it's even worse with the meta tanks

Exactly. Its already a given that the heavy tank class is dominant in the game and meds/TDs are already dead. So an increased variety in the viable (but still broken, evidenced by the clear stranglehold the 60TP, IS-7 and 1B hold over the class) class would be an immediate gain.

If you’re asking to fix the meds/TDs, that definitely comes after fixing the heavies. You can’t attempt fixing the meds/TDs by working around a broken heavy class because when its time to fix said broken heavy class, the resulting fix will see the meds/TDs having their balance undone once more

Higher wr teams had the opportunity to get a lot of coins in money blaster which lower wr teams didnt because it was strongest - weakest then. It makes more sense to have groups of death and actually allow lower wr teams to get some rewards instead of getting stomped by teams with high wr in the first round.

The formula 1 and formula 4 comparison works for money blaster but not for coin blaster. They got stomped when there was a chance to earn actual money, its fair to let them vs other teams and actually gain some worthwhile experience when rewards are less.
Rewards are so much lower in coin blaster compared to money blaster unless you got the skill issue and couldnt place decent in MB
If you want credits so bad you should just get a couple tier 10 masteries

1v1 tournaments are great 👍, but they have in my opinion some annoying downsides, such as :
1 - tanks with special consumables : it becomes unfair when facing tanks with the reactive armor consumable, because it just decides the game before it starts, the heavy that uses it yoloes you, then just both of you keep shooting, until waaaw, your a one shot, and he still has 500HP left which is so unfair for 1v1s.

2 - the fact that when time runs out the player with most damage dealt wins : its just not good, because people just use light tanks, then shoot you once or twice, then just run away until time runs out, then it counts as a win for them, which doesn't make any sense if your a heavy tank, or a slow medium.

I wonder of other players have the same issue, and I hope it's changed soon

If I had the chance to fix this, I would make 1v1 tours more specific, for example: 1v1 heavies only tour / mediums only / lights only, this would fix both issues I'm currently facing in these tours.

Edit: bruh, it would be nice if reactive armor is unavailable in tours.

on the topic of why wg isn’t more creative with the rewards for us, I presume it is because we’re a tiny fraction of the playerbase - even if some of us here are some of the biggest whales and collectors, we don’t match up to the buying power of the entire playerbase in a battle pass, and we already cost them large sums of money with the cash rewards in tours despite being really about 0.1-1% of the playerbase, which is why from a business perspective it’s unwise for wg to bother making constant special rewards for us
