we have turkish players on EU that also have to deal with it etc. it's something for quite a few server, think NA also might have some issues with the time difference between west and east coast of US and south american countries etc., it's big sadge ja, but WG needs to make a decision for such things, there's always gonna be someone like that, either people in the regions that now play at 20CET play at like 6 in the afternoon which could be an issue for being home, or people play til past midnight, tis what it is, no real solution for it

Probably a cost saving measure too. There's probably quite a lot of staff involved and it's not just 1 but 4 weekends that would have been eaten up.

Like. It makes sense for work-life balance at their end but doesn't make sense for work-life balance at the players' and audience's ends.

Their show. Their call. But also their results in terms of player engagement, viewing figures and overall PR and marketing income (if they have sponsors for this year?).

So yeah. A hot mess for the players. A bit of a pain for people that want to follow all the action (I.e. some people won't be able to get rewards and less people will be watching)... but WG are the ones who stand to miss the bigger opportunity. But I'm 100% certain they thought out everything in exquisite detail and ran a full on Net Cost Benefit Analysis using qualified business statisticians.

my guess is that 1) they found out significantly more people play on Friday nights than Sunday nights and 2) interest from other regions pales in comparison to home region Blitz Cup. so they made Grand Finals on Friday night for every BC thinking more people will actually watch

You underestimate your Prof's. Honestly, with enough lead time and the right tone (email and 1-1 meetings) you can get exam dates shifted at Uni - at least in the UK it is possible.

I'd actually say uni is the easiest to get dates shifted for extenuating circumstances because they are least bound by external procedure.

The closest we've come to that is the EU-CIS show matches.

Tbh what we really need is a tournament where a pro team has each player's controls altered randomly - sensitivity changed - buttons rearranged- joystick on the other side - auto aim off etc. - and see if they can beat teams from the bottom of Lower Echelon - working their way up... I'd pay good money to see that.

The issue is locations of ammorack on 60tp and not a tungsten shell. Tungsten shell affect your dmg dealt in certain time period, and not giving you any extra module hit chance.

Ammoracks in tournaments as a whole are really bad for the game. When a tank gets ammoracked from 2600 hp thats a good 4 shots that the enemy team can put into a new target. It spins the game in the favor of the lucky team. This is okay for pubs where people play chill and have fun, not for comp where people are playing for a few grand

One other thing. All of the main esports have little or no luck based factors involved. It’s going to be really hard for wg to promote the game as an esport if theres an ammorack every other game.

Also, rng has been a part of the game since the start. Why change it now? Next you'll have people saying that they should remove the damage rng in comp too bc it's unpredictable. "Oh I low rolled and did only 560 damage on a 600 alpha gun. How can this happen when there's a few grand on the line?"

It's a part and parcel of the game. Nothing needs to be changed. Take other tanks if you're so worried about the ammorack.

Iirc there's a 30% chance that the ammorack will get damaged and a 70% chance that it will blowup on subsequent hits. The players know that. It's their decision to still use a 60TP

You are right on the part where ammoracks arent 100% luck based, but they are still predominantly luck based and don’t need to be in comp.

I honestly believe WG should just raise all tanks’ ammorack module hitpoints in tournaments to 5000. People would still be able to damage the module and hinder other tanks, but they wont be able to just knock them out of the game in the blink of an eye.

Pretty much 1 in 3 shots with result in ammo crits and a subsequent shot will blow it up. That's not a 1 time per game thing. Both teams were spamming 60TPs and had a equal chance of racking the other team.

Imo it's pretty much a game mechanic and should be left untouched and it's great for the viewers too. In one of the games, 7Star was on a 2k HP deficit and got a 2100hp rack and ended up winning the game. I see how that's not great for the players who suffer the ammorack but it definitely adds a twist for the viewers

Ammoracks are definitely quite common now, and yes both teams have equal ammorack chances, but it is still rare enough to where you will see more bo9s than not that go without single double ammorack game. Also, when there are double ammorack games, half of the time one team will get both and more often than not the ammoracks take away much different hp amounts (ie 1100 to 2750)

They are also indeed hilarious for viewership, but it only discourages the actual players from playing another season, and they are the heart of comp. I would hate to be in the tiebreaker to get into the top 2 having worked so many months to get to that point, and losing because of a full hp ammorack.

Tungsten doesnt increase the chances of being ammo'd. Only adrenaline does (27% > 30% with adrenaline).

There's a 27% chance of taking ammo damage. Tungsten doesn't affect that. If the RNG determines that damage will be taken, then damage rng is generated with 203 module dmg +/- 25%. 60TP ammorack has 210 HP and tungsten will affect this calculation increasing the 203 dmg to + 5% - 25%.

If the ammo damage RNG just determines no damage will be taken then, then the second calculation is not even performed. I see a lot of people making incorrect claims that higher the damage, more the module damage and so on. There is no correlation. Both are calculated seperately.

thing is the 60TP is known, before the tour, for its ammorack venerability, much like the E5. Knowing that it has a sensitive ammorack teams should consider this should they not?

I get that ammoracks can be game changers, not all were game changers during the CIS tour btw only about 3 were, and when it happens to tanks like the Maus then yes I totally understand. In this case however its the 60TP a tank that everyone knows is prone to being ammoracked, so its a case of high risk high reward surely?

if tungsten does remove the ability to low roll a module damage chance, then wouldn't it massively increase the chance of an ammo rack happening? if there's only a 27% chance of the rack taking damage normally, and you need a slight high roll with your module damage roll to do a full ammo rack, tungsten basically guarantees that if you roll the 27% to deal damage, you'll get a full ammo rack

tungsten may not increase the chance of the rack taking damage (i never claimed it did), but if it does take damage, it almost guarantees that the player will roll high enough with the module damage to get the rack

This. Tungsten seems to guarantee high roll for module damage. It was something I suspected from the start when I heard 60tp was good at racking. Combined with adrenaline, and depending on what WG means by +10% module damage chance, it could be as low as 29.7% or as high as 37% chance to rack when you hit a 60tp ammo rack.

that's the big difference between tanks like the E5 and IS-7/60TP. E5 has 260 HP in the rack, making it impossible to 1 shot ammo rack it if the rack is full HP for all tanks but a few Tier 10 TDs (183, Jageroo, E4/E3, Foch). in tournaments, nothing will 1 shot ammo rack it because heavy spam dur. despite it having ammo racks basically everywhere, you need to hit the rack twice (once while full HP, once while damaged). even an E5 carrying 1 kit will still be able to repair a damaged rack, so enemies will need to hit the rack 3 times. that's going to be roughly 9 shots at least, because of saving throw. if you shoot an E5 9 times, its almost certainly going to be dead anyways

IS-7/60TP is just like, shoot the rack once with a 60TP using tungsten or a few of the Tier 10 TD's and roll the module damaging shot (27%-37%), and boom

frustratingly, i can't see the module HP on several newer tanks because they're apparently not accessible from armor inspector

my own opinion, but another factor contributing to the susceptibility of the 60tp ammo rack is the fact that it’s located in the centre of mass, smack dab in the centre of the tank

Before this we had the IS-7s getting racked; I believe somebody mentioned about the IS-7 having the same amount of module hp on the ammo rack, but IS-7s while notorious for being ammo racked, are nowhere as common as 60TP ammo racks

The first thing being that the IS7 ammo rack is located in the front behind the pike nose, and well it generally was a harder target to pen because it was armoured

Meanwhile the 60TP has the ammo rack on the weak side in the centre of mass where even auto-aim tracks - in a brawl ammo racks can even occur because it doesn’t have black hole generators on the side and as mentioned - the ammo rack is on the side. It’s susceptibility to being racked on the move is also another thing, if you get spotted crossing or just show your side for a millisecond and somebody takes the shot, again it’s a much easier target to hit to just hurr durr centre of mass go boom ;previously weak ammo rack tanks like the E5 and IS7 you had to shoot specific weak spots, pike nose and drive wheel, but just shooting the huge side is so much easier (helped by the lack of black holes) and this makes racking the 60tp easier when shooting at longer ranges - and in a brawl you’d be trying to get around the side to put in your shots rather than hugging the guy from the front unless necessary to protect teammates etc; various other situational reasons

So rather to conclude I just think the 60tp is the culmination of everything that could possibly go wrong with the ammo rack system - happening all at the same time, high alpha meta tanks with weak ammo racks in very obvious positions going against each other

Dear WG, me and my friends are constant participants of coin tournaments but every tournament is a durability test of our patient. The problem is that after every tour we need to wait for 25-30 min. It really takes a lot of time. the only reason i would be opposed to that is because it’s currently the only thing keeping tier 6 relevant. i’m already at a point where i basically only play tier 10 because of stats. there would never be a reason for me to revisit tier 6, since i’ve grinded all the tech tree lines.

would it be better for tier 8 and 10 tournaments? undoubtedly. and tbh, tier 8 tournaments probably don’t need to exist either. you can farm more credits at tier 8 in pubs, not tournaments

I like the general principle of T6 being the introduction to tours, after all you’re not going see to premium spams like in T8. Ok so it’s all Arl’s but at least it can be even on both sides in that respect. Of all the tours I find T8 the least attractive, but I’m not a big fan of T8 period due to its prem overload. TX is just too difficult for those venturing into tours for the first time

My logic for culling T6 is to improve MM and also that given current rate of progression, everyone is at Tier 8. Certainly everyone dabbling in tournaments viably has multiple T8s... in the early years of the game it took MUCH longer to reach high tiers and there was a paucity of players up there.

Now free XP, boosters, research certs etc. are handed out willy-nilly and you can practically sneeze at your ipad and end up in t10 without so much as a how you do to the lower tiers.

I agree with @latent olive though- T8 is hellish. Maybe have alternating sub tier. Keep t10 as the main and every season change the lower tier between 6-9. This would add tons of variety whilst still focusing the playerbase into 2 rather than 3 sub tournament categories by tier. And ultimately- hopefully encourage more players and teams to more speedily up their game to t10 further improving the tournament experience for all.

More teams in the MM = better experience for all.

It's not like EU NA APAC tournaments are oversubscribed either.
