Checks for violations in the Prove your skill series tournaments have been completed. Unfortunately, besides honest players, there were some who violated the Game rules. All these players were banned.

A clan can have up to 100 players. Only players who have violated the game rules will be penalised.
We will not penalise players who have not violated the rules.

I think he is asking for assuming the majority of the accounts seem to be from a single clan team, wouldn't it make more sense to just ban the team hollisticly

You can do it to the clan, not individuals (just ban the clan, players can participate in other clans). 9 people from the same clan is not a coincidence. It actually proves that one team that participated in the tournaments was created just in case 1st one fails so players from the 1st team can switch accounts.

We will not block the clan.

But to get to top8 it is required to get enough points, right? They used shared accounts to secure the points

That's right, up to 10 teams per clan can participate.
However, only 1 result counts - the best result.
We will not recalculate the cups now or remove the clan from the tournament.

What I am trying to say is using shared accounts is forbidden, right? If 9 people or accounts (I think that's the biggest scale in history of tournaments here in Blitz) from the same clan are caught red handed then IMO the clan should also be punished because it benefited - in this case - quite significantly (unless we are gonna pretend they did not know and it wasn't arranged by people that are currently in the "PRO" team).

Big thanks to all the existing and new streamers for carrying spring season/ blitz comp in general and especially the streamers that picked up challengers cause they have been great

the issue with the APA situation isn't the multi-teams or account-sharing as seperate items, even tho ofc account-sharing is banned,

It is the fact that if the main team doesn't manage to get the 2nd day, or the 2nd team gets up higher on first day, or it has a better seeding for 2nd day, a big chunk of the 2nd team will be replaced with the players from the 1st team

Meaning that is literally always the top team playing, while for some clans who use two teams, their less capable team advance to the 2nd day, but they aren't as good as the main team, so less likely to get as many cups as the first team,

That is the issue, the fact that if the 1st team doesn't play 2nd day, has a bad result 1st day or has a bad seeding 2nd day, they will just hop onto the other teams accounts to have a better team getting more cups, a better team fighting in a better seeding to advance way deeper on 2nd day etc.

This means they unfairly got more cups than they should have and this is clearly done with thought put into it and all people involved are in on it, so this is a planned operation by the clan, thus I think considering a clan tournament ban wouldn't be a bad idea

From WG point of view it's a legal thing. To share an account you have to give away your account information which opens up a whole host of "This person sold this on my account I need compensation" complaints. Now, WG can legally say "It's your own fault you did this stupid thing so you don't get compensation because we said it's against the rules" instead of relying on people's common sense.

For tourneys if you share accounts as explained above you can have two teams with different seeding on the first day to increase your chances of getting to say 2, then on the second day use the best players from either team, some of whom should have been knocked out.

the thing is having the second team and multiple 100% accounts is all well within the rules there’s no problem there. The thing is that with a majority of that second team getting banned for breaking EULA for account sharing (which probably was main team players coming over after they had been eliminated). Imo points earned from almost an entire team of banned accounts should not count especially when it’s the difference between a top8 and top 16 placement.

There’s no reason a team with 3 100% accounts (correct me if i’m wrong but the highest seed in EU) and the skill to beat eg in a best of 5 should need to essentially cheat their way into top 8.

The effects of the rule breaking from A PArticular clan that I can't name haven't been punished at all, they have lost 8 throwaway accounts for what two week? Chances are they will be back at it again next time along with others unless WG starts making it in the teams interests to be sure they play by the rules. That could be by banning any clan with more than two rule breaches from tourneys for six months or by other punishments, but if they don't change something it's just going to keep expanding like the 100% accounts 🤷‍♀️

There is a clear desire for such a channel. Part of the EU and NA community recently made their own server to cover this gap, and it is close to 1000 members already. The #general-blitz-discussion / #off-topic-discussion channels are just too broad to host meaningful and focused tournament discussions between the players. Forcing tournament players to use the general channels for discussion will reduce the experience of both tournament and non-tournament players that use this server to discuss Blitz. Additionally, it will likely drive more players (and therefore Discord server usage) off WG's Discord server and onto player run servers.

Creating a dedicated tournament-discussion channel will:

1. Free up and focus this channel into a developer-feedback centric space for tournaments.
2. Help the ever-increasing tournament player base engage as a community.
3. Avoid the general channels from becoming bloated and swamped with tournament content.
4. Avoid this server losing activity due to players spending more time discussing tournaments with each other, on other player/community run servers.

The conversation that used to happen in this thread happened because that is the conversation people want to have. If they can't have it on this server they will gravitate to other fora (player run servers). You cannot suppress a conversation to stop the conversation. It will happen elsewhere. Telegram is an EXCELLENT example of that principle in action.

So. If WG would like to stay more informed and in control of the narrative and their customer base - a general tournament discussion channel is literally the only logical solution available. But tbh - it usually takes ~ 1 year for WG to catch up with my being right. Waited before. Can wait now.

I believe it is more than 1% of the player base who is interested in tournaments and discussions related to that. Furthermore, tournaments are a crucial part of the game, so a separate channel for general tournament discussion (not just about the best teams on the server but also discussions related to quick tournaments, season coins tournament etc.) helps a lot because #general-blitz-discussion drowns out discussion pretty quickly and it's nice to see discussion solely for tournaments.

Tournaments, whether if they are quick tournaments or much more serious ones, are a considerable part of the game. They're unique in themselves, and part of the only 3 gamemodes, if considered one, to be consistently available. It's understandable that the mast vajority that the playerbase is not interested, but a bigger percentage in this server, especially among active members, plays tournaments often. A tournament channel dedicated to all kind of talks related to tourneys, from asking advices by experienced players to discuss about strats and stuff. It can sure be done here, but a 5 minutes slowdown clearly doesn't let any chats take place.

Noting you are someone who has been the target and creator of various clan-war memes I understand your position. However, I think it is another poor decision on behalf of WG/the Mods that is to the detriment of Blitz as an esport. Smack-talk between clans is entertaining. It happens in many other sports - particularly esports and contact sports (MMA anyone?).

It is a part of the entertainment value. I agree it is a tricky thing to get right and not go too far - but the inability of those responsible to manage it should not be the reason for excluding it altogether.

Very good point. Engagement. Mind maps etc. - I am on 50+ Discord servers. I probably click into the same 5 and even on those a select few channels. I know what content I'll get when I go there. Heck - even my servers are sorted by click-rate to some extent.

Now that would be good for this channel to make it more focused for dev feedback - but without a general tournament discussion channel, many tournament players will come into the overall server less and less. there have been discord servers created in order to allow for feedback purely on tournaments and no one bothered to use it so it was shut down. This channel is meant to be about tours, but there is not many suggestions being put forward, just complaints really. I have yet to see any real meaningful debate on an issue tbf. Yes good points are raised here and there but they are rarely debated and explored, mainly because its difficult to do so on such a channel.
Tbh even if a dedicated feedback channel were created it would no doubt degenerate into a clone of this channel and we would end up on the same place eventually. I mean take the most recent action on this channel, its not about debate or anything its about APA drama yet no one invited Happy or Pantou!
I get the APA thing may be related to tours, but in fairness if you think rules have been broken then you are free to raise a ticket and then bring the matter up here to explore what needs to happen in order to prevent such things going on. Seems the most sensible way forward to me

Professional series should use top 8 round Robin format over a best of 5 or 7 for the first stage.

I think most players and the audiences would agree it makes more sense to have longer higher level stages rather than saga worthy qualification stages where not only will you often see white win rate teams face super unicums - but there's also the risk of dying of old age before the phase finishes.

I do see in some instances the underlying context in some names, which I then refuse to state, but in that instance it didnt occur to me. Part of the issue being is that the word it was meant to relate to is not one in my vocabulary and unless it is crystal clear I wounldnt have picked it up. I did pick up one IGN about gassing certain groups on Asia, refused to say it and also had no option but to report it, which I did inform the clan lead that I was going to do that.
