Crowdfund twister pls sell some cosmetic like unique camo, avatar, or perhaps premium acc for real money and then use 25% of the total profit to fund twister. That way u guys can make money while attract more ppl to the game as higher prize pool = more ppl going to attempt to play and compete. Also while at it if possible when u guys got enough playerbase increase twister teams to around 16 maybe. 3 from na, eu, asia, Cis and china and 1 wild card winner.

16 teams, that seems like a lot. on NA there’s only like 1-2 potential teams that are good enough to travel and compete anyways, and on Asia? Finding 3 teams good enough will be impassible lol. I’m sure EU could easily have 3 and RU 3 but atm Asia and NA need to grow and new players need to rise up for those 2 severs to even consider having 3 competitive teams that can travel and do half decent in an offline

The games is just not their yet to have a live crowd and 16 teams. WG do offlines with a budget and they don’t seem to want to expand their offline events and online professionals tourneys.

but on serious note, yes Asia needs competition RIGHT NOW. I'm not sure about NA but after 3.8k tournament battles and 3 professional tournaments, can definitely say that the play quality on Asia is just not even close towards other regions. especially after testing ourselves (sort of for real) during the offlines when scrimming against EG or RGN or MERCY, it just feels like it will take a lot more competition than currently to produce quality tournament teams from regions that are less populated/

Pretty sure the wait time between games is 30 minutes for a reason cause it's a max 7 minutes per game and 1 minute between matches and the room is up 5 minutes before hand, although it's very unlikely for a team to play 3 matches all at 7 minutes long WG have always accounted for it

Okay this tourney thing for realistic is messed up

Need some support rill quick- so we were never alarmed as to when we were supposed to ready up, and the server crashed for our room leader

Only 3 of us get in, and the others can't. So we are fcked

We automatically lose the first round bc apparently that's how it is. And the next round our team members once again STILL cannot log in

And then we lose AGAIN!

What happens next? Oh yeah we get a strike for missing a tourney because this game is fcked! yay!

I am not a fan

Primarily because it seems there is little to no strategy involved, and most of our success when we played was just zirg rushing and killing stuff off the bat. The fact that an enemy's HP wasn't visible even when "spotted" made focus fire awkward, and my biggest issue with the tournament is my problem with realistic mode as a whole: on the majority of the maps you can tell where and what the enemy is going to do, and that just makes any possibilities for sneaky plays (that should be theoretically possible in this mode) null and void.

I think if everyone was invisible for the first 20-30 seconds of a match, that would make the mode a lot more interesting and maybe improve tournaments. And another idea (one that is implemented in WoT PC CWs, and would fit well with the realistic theme) is if the enemy lineup was invisible, and the enemy tank only appeared on the enemy team list once it gets "spotted".

Overall I would rate the tourney a 4/10. And 6/10 for rewards, and 2/10 for gameplay. @winter swallow

We tried some kind of bait strats and the result, while positive, was mostly achieved because the enemy teams were mostly not that much aware of their surroundings.
Having very fast tanks (Sheridans...) "spot" key areas of the maps from where you could tell exactly what the enemy was trying to do proved to be invaluable. Then it mostly came down to either us or the enemy pushing or a stalemate with our sheridans in cover shooting atgms.

Having tanks "revealed" as you spot them would be a very spicy game mechanic to implement and would further differentiate this gamemode from the good ol classic we all kind of love.

Reading the rules is always good. However, a tournament’s priority should be the gameplay involved, registering the team should be the least of a team’s worries in the grand scheme of things.

Tbh it wasn't clear, hence why there are less teams this week than last week. An announcement here would have gone a long way... As it's the same tournament from last week, it would be correct to make the assumption that registration would close at the same time. It's just clearly miscommunication, and if wargaming don't want to make it right, it's up to them.

@chilly terrace @thorn shale I don’t know if any of you watch the streams. But you need to fix your bloody damn servers. 6 times I crashed with perfectly working internet. Cost us the finals.

How the heck are we supposed to play with this kind of server performance? Constant lag. Constant DCs. Realistic battles, grand finals, on streams. And this is the state of the servers?

@leaden belfry I heard you point out multiple times that we weren’t communicating, here’s the problem. XLOCUST, iLyaskuxx and I had multiple game crashes and lagged every time we used VC. 6v7s are not fun.

It just randomly DCs and pops up a “disconnected from server” message or “Couldn’t receive Data from XYZ” message.

SGP1 works decent enough for me to play. 250 ping at most (yeah I learn to deal with that)
But in the middle of the game it has a habit of connecting me to SGP2 (for example if I leave the game to watch the stream or check discord, it reconnects me to P2) and then the fun begins.

400+ ping with a crash every few minutes. I couldn’t ready up last battle because my game crashed and it wouldn’t let me log in with the 111 error above. Couldn’t put anyone else in either since I was the team cap

In the third game against K1NG XLOCUST crashed (E50M, right most of the map, you can see him DC).

@lime glen @thorn shale @chilly terrace is there any chance we could get a reaction on my previous message in this channel. and since the ingame support did not come with a valid explanation, and kept stating that we had two technical draws with the opposite team, after we were awarded a technical victory. my further questions would be: how does the technical victory really works? maybe it has a bug in there, that causes such problems? how many teams were kicked out of tournaments while fully ready and waiting for their opponents? is there any way wargaming could admit the problem was on their end? maybe we should appoint a person in the team who will have to take screens/videorecords each time we all press "ready" in a tournament room and are those going to be considered having a higher value of proof, because apparently our words and your logs are not enough? we were awarded a technical victory in the first battle, since we all were "ready" and two countdowns for the next two battles, that just went down to zero, and nothing happened afterwards.

As far as I remember, ready status is reset after each battles. It doesn't depend on was it tech. victory/defeat or not. Therefore, it looks like, your team wasn't ready after the first battle.

@chilly terrace we did not take any while waiting for the battle, since it did not feel like a bug at the moment, and we considered it as a typical technical win caused by the no show of the enemy, but we'll keep it in mind for the future. needless to say that no bugs, lags, or crashes were reported in our perception of the reality, and 9 people who were in that tournament room, saw that each and every of them had the status "ready", for each of the battles. in case wg is not logging the readiness status of individual participants, it is going to be hard to prove our point. at the same time, this discussion is not meant to be a dispute, and might be considered as a bug report, as well.

It depends on the tier and tour. It's not a ton though. On a 9 player team, winning tour 4 at tier 6 ~177k credits, and tour 2 at tier 6 gets you ~77k credits on a 9 player team

And the payout is proportional to how many battles you actually played in. If you were a spectator in most of them, you'll get even fewer credits @thorn shale

the game itself needs time to compute the data too

that's why there's generally an hour in between registration closing time and starting time, I reckon - also in case something goes wrong with creating the brackets

Makes sense I guess, some teams might end up complaining that this tournament shouldn’t count, I usually see the brackets go up 10 minutes after registration closes, that’s why I suggested moving the first battle back 10-15 minutes and closing the registration at the original starting time. If not possible then I understand.
It’s up to the devs now wether they want to go ahead with it or something else. Because I’m fairly certain some teams won’t make it, though I hope they do.

Theres a big problem with events updates at 7pm et in NA server. Noone want to join teams do to the 9pm et tourney starts in east 5-6 pm in west. Better to have update at 2pm et so west can do lunch battles . thx

Again, can’t log into the game. Permanently stuck on connecting screen, half my team missed the off season tournament today. @chilly terrace
We want a rematch. 6v7 for two games. Now we can’t make it into top 8.

I highlighted this issue along with other people yesterday and during the QT Friday too. It was forwarded by amaunet.

The issue is the same. The game reaches the “connecting” screen and doesn’t go forward after that or it crashes mid game and then you can’t log back in.
@sage laurel @hollow rapids and I had that issue in the last two tournaments.

I can name a few other people who have this issue outside my clan right now aswell.

Here's the proof of crashes, I had entered the tournament game and it suddenly crashed. I tried to restart the client WotB and it sucks at Connecting... screen for 5 mins. I'm lucky this time it cost me only 5 mins to load into the game, but @alpine adder sucks at Connecting... screen for an hour. Please fix the looping packets, it gonna jam everyone's network, both me and your server, WG.

I’ve been playing the game for just as long as you and in the first 2-3 years of my gameplay I’ve never encountered any issues worth reporting. I’m only starting to see issues now even though I’m in the same country with the same devices and WiFi.

Not a huge bug. but it seems u can't read invite to tournament on different platforms once u check it on the other platform.

I checked the invite to the team on my phone but didn't accept at that time, neither did i decline. my phone died so i opened WoTB on PC to accept the invite but the invite isn't there. i can't join the team either until the captain removes me from the list and resends the invite so the invite shows up on my PC.

Suffered Login issue.
Couldn't login until the match started. It took me over 4 mins to login.
I was on PC, was suffering high ping and loss before I decided to switch device to phone after finishing a round.
As soon as we finished a round, I closed my cilent on PC and opened it on phone. Then I was stuck there for atleast 4 mins causing me to be unable to login.

Dont be so pessimistic, we see offseason tournaments with full teams at least in eu now. The top of the top is maybe sleeping and doing something else instead, but there is a lot of interest in newer / lower level clans. The spring season will get good teams back, and the hp buff just need a bit different gameplay, but so what? Adding new stuff challenges the oldies to work a bit more 😀

The ascension is a long process which is supposed to remove the fact that "Professional tournament top8 teams are not decided on a single night and based on wr with strongest vs weakest system which is awful", which is primary a good idea but not well used. Scores are really close and for example if u finished top5 at thursday s tournament u dont get ticket for saturday s ascent which lets be honest kill almost all chances for u to be top8 again. So finnally, the pressure is still the same because if u play bad one night is does destroy ur chances a lot, which is not so far from the 2018 system finnally. Also it is still on strongest vs weakest which is really wrongly calculated in my opinion... means if u have a lot of rerolls in ur team u will face weaker teams but why lol, strongest vs weakest should be based on another parameter more revelant. For example lets say the points earned in off season, the 30d wn8 of the team... Idk but all except wr without number of battles. Also the fact to use strongest vs weakest everytime makes u face similar teams every ascents, so once again, if u fail a night, u dont have a lot of chances to come back as u almost face everytime the same teams.
Also if i remember correctly the groups are big like theres about 32teams in a group, so chances to get top4 to get a ticket for saturday are even lower.

If i resume the ascension system does not really remove the "one night decide" problem but it conserves it on a longer period which is just more stressful for teams. i know there is no perfect system except if each team face all others 63ones, but still it can be improved a lot

and it doesnt have point but also i dont understand why wg is often changing the meta just before seaons like jeez, we train 3-4months in one meta, and 1 or 2 week before seasons they change meta

wotb is an insane game for a lot of different reasons, but competition is something really interesting and attractive for the highest player database in wotb mainly, it really deserves to get into comunity to get experienced players opinion really

we reported some problems with 2018 system as the calcul of the strongest vs weakest system, the fact that finals are bo3, the fact that sometimes with double elimination u can win 2;0 again one team, and then face it again in finals and lose 1;2 so u won 3 games against this team, and they won 2 against u but they go further and not u which was unfair... But wg created another system as well, it was maybe better to just improve the previous system following what we ve felt

@azure pecan Ok, I try to explain our point of view regarding mentioned facts:

1. Since it's long process it's allow to determine real top-8 clans. There wasn't any random team in top-8 in previous season.
2. If you get top-5 in Thursday tournament, someone gets top-4. Don't forget about this. By the way, it means that they were better in one series (I mean non-ticketed and ticketed tournaments in sum) and nothing bothers you to be better in 3 other series. Actually, that's why this system works better for determining top-8 teams. A bit worse for determining top-16.
3. Strongest - weakest seeding: actually, disadvantages of this seeding are not influenced on results, as you say. At first because we have several tournaments, not one. At second because rerolls don't get you big advantage. Honestly, there is not any seeding system in the world, that don't have disadvantages.
4. We make balance changes during all year excluding season time. Not only before the season.
5. Regarding double elimination: there are two options how double elimination can be played. We use one of them. The full double elimination which you mentioned is not so popular system by the way.

I’ve seen an NA team sneak into top 8 and they just get rolled without winning a single game. It’s better you don’t embarrass yourself like that. Not everyone can get what they want in comp and you just have to deal with it or win more games.

Wg doesn’t care about excuses so their’s no point in complaining about your team failing to win more games. Go complain in game rather than here.

I have been in 5 different clans, no one seemes to be able to collect players ftom same clan. I have tried but no luck.

What's needed are open team slots where player can join and be locked in based on tank lvl. Just thinking.

I do wish every player goodluck and kerp trying to play in tours.

@thorn shale All balance changing are done based on statistic. If fv215b receives less buff then other tanks, it means that fv215b didn't need buff like other tanks.

@covert merlin Because Ascent tournaments follow to Professional and Challengers tournaments which will be held in touch.

@thorn shale we haven't announced the dates of Professional tournament yet. How it can be moved?
Anyway, I have no idea, where you find rumors like that, but I receive such questions, which are not related to reality, each season. I can recommend you not to trust any source of information except official resources.

The same time you got the notification where it says you won 371k creds they were added in to your account

Tourneys can be difficult to join/host, most people don't join or they join then go afk for 2hrs, tournys are only easy to host with the biggest and most competitive clans.

@dusk coral you received your prize (57207 credits) yesterday. Pay attention that team rewards are indicated in quick tournaments. It means that sum of credits is divide by players according to amount of played battles.
