Makes sense. I feel like diamond players tend to play pretty passive until an opportunity arises and they are incredibly aggressive and will punish small mistakes pretty heavily. Ie two people are left alone on a flank people are willing to all in them a lot of the time and get 2 for 0

Also poor positioning, the worst players on the teams are always the callers. It might work against equal opponents but at top ratings you are consistently setting your team up for disaster.

No because there’s already a skill spread in ratings so you will just calibrate higher platinum. Unless you’re really good at the game, it’s still difficult to grind out points to get into mid diamond.

You would have to no life ratings while playing at a really high skill level. Top 100 roughly climbs 100 points each week and now 5.3k with roughly 6 weeks left.

It’s not impossible I’ve seen people climb 100 points a day. Max gain yesterday was 220 points in top 100 followed by 185 points.

You’re suffering from 4800-5200 mm. And after 5300 the team will always be bad no matter what.

You just need to be hella patience and don’t make aggressive plays. Just support and farm off the team the best you can. Track as much as you can and when you’re about to die be extremely close to the enemy so you can farm active actions xp.

I figured out to not play aggressive, so I have been playing passively. That’s part of the problem, when I’m playing passively I cannot get much damage or xp. Its also super annoying how there are always people on the team who bleed hp and die in the first minute

I've talked to a lot of people about ratings and its based off of personal performance A.K.A EXP gained from a match and if you do exactly the same as someone then the person with the lower rating gets the points. I have tested it and it is true.

That’s not exactly true. There’s an xp threshold you have to meet in order for the second person to also gain which is using the old point system for the second person. There’s plenty of times where I’m the higher rating and I gained the most points but the lower rating also gained few points.

Thing is though you couldn't force me to get top 3 if you paid me. It's such a terrible experience that unless you think the rewards are worth it, it's just better to barely play it. You're willingly going into a gamemode with 10x longer queue times, playing against players which are all sweating, and nobody helps anybody else because why help win the game when you can run away and still win points.

It's a gamemode that lacks any kind of teamwork and is just solely based off of who can greed the most XP on a loss. A win doesn't even happen with teamwork anymore, it happens when you can clear the slowest tanks on the enemy team when all the faster tanks see they're losing by like 200 HP and immediately turn tail to run.

The backgrounds and any kind of avatars always being temporary is also just completely dumb. Like it makes things like the rating attachment or the rating backgrounds they teased utterly useless. What's the point of grinding for it if I'm just going to have to go for it again the next month lol

20k coins is reasonable. I had a check at blitzstars and 4 people have it (that played more than 30 battles). I think the 20k coins is reasonable but 30k would be worth the grind.

Also being top 5 was a terrible experience hence why I’m just hovering near the middle. I just want to maintain a 300 point lead so I don’t have to play the last week.

Also the fearless should come with a permanent background and avatar since none of those are temporary just saying.

Both have their pro and cons for example its easier to gain points for top 100 on NA because the lower you are the more points you get each game and they have less players meaning its easier to get parts for the T49 fearless if I am not mistaken you dont even need 5500 for the top 100. In EU you need 6150 points for top 400 right now meaning you would have awesome games with a mastery and you dont even get plus 5 often so you require much more battles

The opposite. Tunnel the weaker players. The only reason why you lose in NA rn is because the weaker players get farmed and die to the opposite stronger player. You sometimes have risk making the enemy a one shot to entice your team to make a move other wise they will watch you die.

NA is lower because their are less skilled players compared to Asia and EU. For the top players you avg 5 mins in q around top 50 and it progressively gets longer the higher you are because of the skill gap between top players and regular players. Also on NA once people reach top 100 they are less likely to play more battles because you can skip a few days and barely lose position. I’ve noticed during this event some players took advantage of the fast q times and gained 100 points a day, also the players at the bottom got a boost so top 100 is climbing a little faster than usual. I’m still calling the floor for top 100 at 5800.

If you grind 20-30 points a day in top 100 or roughly 100 points per week you basically have the fearless with little effort, that’s less than 10 battles or an hour a day.

And meds/lts are mobile enough to spot and hold for a while on hill, then retreat to city and defend the city. Any good player in med/LT just run away from hill when they see troubles. Just observe the games and you will see meds running out....

But in encounter, it is better to go hill for map controll. In encounter I rarely go city, only if we are 5 heavies or only 1 med, etc, and team decides to go city, but in encounter I would recommend hill strategy.

In calibration you gain/lose more points than normal ratings. Calibration starts at 3k so if you play well you can reach platinum, its the same in reverse if you play badly you can calibrate in silver. @bleak yarrow

You have to play 50 battles in that specific tier to unlock the camo. You get the camo when the szn is over which is august 31st/sep 1 depending on the server. You need to be in diamond when the szn is over to get the diamond camo.

You get 4 camos, one per each tier. You need to play 50 battles at tier 7,8,9, or 10 to “complete”/ unlock the camo. The most played tank at each tier gets the camo. What camo you get depends on your final league at the end of the season.

You just need to be above 5000 at the end of the season to get the diamond camo. (No you don’t have to play 50 battles in diamond)
You need 50 battles at tier you want the camo to unlock the camo.

It’s based on rating so each team has to be balanced and have similar numbers of types of tanks ie both teams have average ranking of 5k points and 1 td 2 lights 3 mediums 2 heavies apiece as an example. I feel like it’s too easy but the bottom being 5600 rn means only the good players are getting it which is reasonable.

You can get base exp for everything... Try to focus on spotting, destroying tanks and dealing dmg, these give the most amount of xp

If you are good at playing light tanks or mediums, I would recommend using them. They can get more spots and more assisted dmg than a heavy, so more exp. But don't play them if you're better at heavies.

I would also recommend playing tier X so that you aren't low tier (and I think rating is meant for tier X).

And yeah it's definitely doable! At that rating, you can gain 15-20 points a game if you are doing it right. I went from 200th place to like 70th in the past 2 days for example

Yeah there's definitely more camping at higher ratings, but it's to be expected when (generally) higher skilled players play together without communication. You'll see this in pub matches when two unicums platoons are on the same team.

Typically high skill players rely on lower skilled players to be their meat shield, and their play styles reflect that usually. In pubs, meat shields draw out mistakes from the enemy, and good players can capitalize on that.

In rating, the enemy is usually too smart to make a mistake just to farm a meat shield. So meat shields just die without doing anything productive. Without coordinated rushes/flanks, it gets hard to crack a defensive team.

That's my theory at least. You just need to change your play style to fit the "meta". For example, I've noticed that all the mediums and lights want to flank all the time, together. In pub, you can leave the main battle to go flank and usually no one follows. This means the main battle can still continue as a stalemate. In rating, if I leave to go flank, then 2 or 3 mediums will follow me. This means the enemy wins the main battle, since too many allies left. So you gotta account for that kind of stuff and plan around it

Also, when a lot of higher skilled players are on a team, they all end up going to the same spots on the map. This means 0 map control. On canyon for example, everyone goes to the middle. Even tanks that have no right to be there, because they are used to pub players not taking the hill. Then everyone gets crowded, and the enemy can just go anywhere and do anything. In pubs, the "meat shields" will go left or right instead of the middle, which means more map control. Then you only have to worry about 1 or 2 directions instead of 3.

Because of this, sometimes "sub par" map positions for pub battles turn into great positions in ratings. So far it's been working for me
