"Matchmaking is the cause of etc" "You just have Skill Issue" "This Game is broken because it is" They never give a reason why to any of these questions, any replies are either dodges to the question why or some splurted out nonsense, It's the same thing Flat earthers do, they complain, we ask why, they say we're dumb and it's clearly because of "buoyancy" and "density" not knowing at all that buoyancy is just gravity and density has literally nothing to do with anything, it's the basic same presence here....

The problem is that it would be very hard to turn.
The amount of air drag that'd go against the wings when turning is so overpowering that it's either snap the wings off, or send the plane into a uncontrollable spin
Also, the fact that there are weapons under the top wings doesn't make sense.
If you tried to use those weapons, they would hit the bottom wing and explode, killing the pilot and destroying the plane.

It depends on the weapon. If it's a rail launch weapon the the chances are it won't hit the pilot. If it's s drop launch then yes.

A lot of the times, you won't see a rail launched weapons on an aircraft.
They would be horribly inaccurate, bc the plane isn't in a fixed position for as long as the rail launched weapon needs time to react, therefore launching the missile.
Rail launched weapons are usually fitted on ground vehicles, since they only move along 1 direction, and usually go slower then a plane.

It doesn't matter. All that matters is how much penetration it has. A HEAT round can have just as much penetration as a HEAT-FS round, it just depends on how well it's made.

There is no way a 30mm is taking out an Abrams from a distance. HEAT won't work since both the front and sides are covered in composite armor. An APDS round won't work because it won't retain enough penetration over distance to get through anywhere.

The Abrams was made to take on other countries modern MBTs. If a measly 30mm gun could take it out, it would be a massive failure of a tank.

I remember the first time i've played BF3, in one of the first missions, the one where you are flying in a Tomcat, and need to destroy enemy planes trying to take off using laser signals and bombs, it was pain.

So, Basically, I’ve been doing some research because a friend of mine said He’s not capable to take care of MiG-21’s in his F4-E phantom II, But can effectively Beat The MiG-23 Flogger in the same cases, But from my Testing, the 23 is a much more capable Aircraft than the 21, He says the MiG-21 Can turn better which i can’t Find to be true or not, as well as, With the Tomcat being added to war thunder, Will the MiG-23, as it’s main competitor, be able to stand a chance against those AIM-54’s?

Mig 21 had great Instantaneous turn rate but bled energy because of the wing shape. I don’t know much about the Mig-23 but from what I’ve heard it was a bit of a dog.

I honestly don’t know how they’ll add the Tomcat without either ruining game balance or ruining the plane.

I do know that the one time American Tomcats went against Mig-23’s in the real world it was Tomcat 2, MiGs 0.

I also know the Iranians did pretty well with them as well. The only plane the Iraqis had that game the Tomcat trouble was the Mirage F1

A lot of people think the Tomcat was designed as an interceptor and that it couldn’t knife fight. They’re wrong.

Where it lacks is power to weight and roll rate.

The 7.5 G limit was artificial. Imposed by the Navy to make the airframes last longer. I’ve heard of 9 g turns being common and a few instances of it hitting 11 or 12 g’s

Now, from what i know right now, The MiG-23 is also an incredible turner, due to it's Wing Sweep and it's huge engine it actually regains almost all the speed it's bled in approx. 1-2 seconds, now, I can load up the War thunder Dev server and see if I can get my hands on the tomcat, and show you how it is, But I'd need to grind for that, The 23 cannot however do what the 21 can, the delta wing made the 21 quite stable in the game, however the 23 over rolls itself really easily, you can put yourself into a flat spin if you roll for too long, I don't know about any real Cases of that happening though.

To answer this question, they're not removing the AIM-54's, and the plane from what i've seen on the Dev streams is pretty solid, Just the Engine was made equivalent to the 27 or Mirage, so i think it would be pretty well added, of course the next few 4th generation jets are gonna be.... uncertain..

The Tomcat could launch six Phoenix missiles in about ten seconds with missile hitting targets at high and low altitude and close and long range. I have no idea how they plan to balance that.

From a developing Standpoint. Doing both is a good plan. But from the information I know right now, The Phoenix is Really Good, but Against a Good player like myself? I don’t see a big trouble with it really, the only thing to my eyes that changed from Semi active radar to full active is that the plane doesn’t need to be looking at you for the missile to hit anymore.
Though I don’t know much about the Tomcat At all, which is why i asked you for help

From an engagement standpoint it’ll be much harder to fight. A Tomcat can drop a missile and then turn hard and increase to mach 2. Good luck chasing them down and dodging the great white buffalo that is charging you.

Don’t need to chase them when you have an R-24R. Also, Banking Left and to the right when the missile is around 2-2.5km away from you makes it almost always miss, i’ve done it with a friend multiple times while he spams those at me, And He’s actually Extremely Proficient at playing Jets, so i think it’s somewhat going to take time adjusting to, but it’s perfectly possible to do that. Especially if you have a squadmate who’s gonna chase him while you bait.

R-24r is semi active homing if I recall. If you maneuver to avoid the Phoenix your gonna break radar lock and your missile will go dumb. Not to mention (real world numbers) R-24r has around a 25 mile range and the AIM-54 has a 100 mile range.
