the IS is a painful tank to grind
if you have extra free xp you can use it to directly skip to the IS-3 and save yourself the pain of grinding

and for the credits side, try cutting costs on your tanks (i.e using cheaper shells, consumable and provisions) or drive more premium tanks often if you have them.

Make sure you practice good techniques to deal more damage than you take, work on survival, ...
Then try not to waste consumables when you don't need to ( like using a fire extinguisher or repair kit ten secs before you die, when the game is going to be a win or loss anyhow )
Most people will use premium time and premium tanks ( they earn more credits ) to build up credits.
In a platoon you may. be able to win a few extra games.
Credit boosters can help.
Some special game modes can help earn or lose more credits ... so pay attention.
Take your time moving up the tiers, learning maps, techniques, ...
The higher the tier the more expensive everything is.

The menu is very slow to react, but worst of all, when entering a battle, the game takes about 4 minutes to load. "inactive" downvotes are useless, they don't differenciate between campers and afks, and there are no punishments. i suggest that WG add an unlimited downvote mechanism for AFK, and they suspend accounts for habitual offenders, and to keep the use of the downvotes in check, they should also take action against those making false downvotes.
