Just a quick FYI...I tested playing Blitz through Norton’s VPN and got lag, lag, and more lag. Then I tested it through Express VPN and it worked pretty well, but I still get more reliable play with no VPN. Hope that helps someone.

There has always been bad players. As you get better the bad players are going to be more noticeable. Complaining about them isn't going to do anything. You have to go into a match expecting that you're going to have to carry bad players. Just deal with it.

For a more detailed explanation:
The XP earned on collectors (and elite tanks, tanks with a wreath around the icon) are basically saved xp because there's nothing to spend it on. You can convert elite xp to free xp with gold (bad idea) or use it to accelerate crew skills. That's about it

Yes and no.
Yes in the form that you earn credits and xp, except elite tanks aren't good credit grinders (with exception) and xp can't be used in tank progression (researching modules or reaching the next tier).
No in the form of you're still playing the tank for stat grinding or enjoyment instead of resource grinding

Premium tanks amass elite xp for crew skills as well, and usually offer a different playstyle or characteristic than tech tree tanks. The main selling point is credit making as mayo said.

At tier 5 you’re still pretty unexperienced. Most solid premiums that would be recommended (especially heavies) are tier 8, so I would advise that you at least get a tech tree line or two up to that tier to see if you can handle it first. Rushing into higher tiers blindly is not a good idea or investment.

But for now I wouldn't recommend moving up any further in the tiers for premiums

A tier 5 heavy won’t do much for you down the road, it’s not an especially intriguing tier and the credits won’t be amazing. Saving up for a tier 8 heavy that you can use for years to come is a much better idea.

Yep it’s good to plan ahead and set goals, just be patient and don’t make the mistake of rushing up the tiers. It really pays off in the end if you wait, trust me.

Another benefit of waiting and grinding your tech tree lines is that it gives you more of a chance to figure out your playstyle and pick the best premium tank for you. If you went out and bought one now, chances are you’re just blindly guessing.
