After the recent buff to the IS5, I'd say it's very much worth it.
The only big drawback it has is bad gun handling.
On the upside, you get a heavy tank with decent armor, amazing mobility, access to super consumables like tungsten and improved speed boost, and great pen/decent alpha damage.
All of that for 1.5k Gold.

At least WG is finally doing something to make it where people want to play the tiers 1-4 again. Now, if WG would only put "all" them up for sale again.
