@tired anchor Hii hii. I tried My Little Braven mod and the Superb Survivors mod. The first mod is quite wonky and buggy especially when you go back and Braven is in her underwear and it is unavoidable to get pushed by her when you stop. I haven't extensively play using the other mod but I press the key to spawn one or two as my companions.

It's not really that surprising as survivor mods are very unstable, since they use assets from the game's first versions

I still haven't extensively played the game with the Superb Survivors mod. The first time I tried to hit the zombie but I hit the other NPC and I got hurt by it and left bleeding profusely.

@tired anchor Hii hii. Update with the Superb Survivors. I'll describe it in one word: JERKS. Why? When there is a horde and they're overwhelmed with it, you're getting pushed into the horde and you'll end up as a sacrifice which is quite irritating.

yeah, probably. It will be cool to have survivors but, the fact that you're alone in the exclusion zone quite adds up a bit on the experience for me, who knows how it'll be once survivors get added. Maybe they'll give us quests and so

The reason for me to have NPCs so that I can have a companion whenever I go far away from my base. I'm too chicken to go alone which is ironic because when I spawn from a different base and my target base is at the other side of the area, I just run and kill several zombies along the way.

But heck, The Superb Survivors are not superb at all.

A mod that lets you spawn in cabins around the map, + Cryogenic Winter Hard Mode & Endless Snowstorm (included in the cryogenic winter mod). In the sandbox settings, set the food and other items rarity to the lowest, set the in-game date to the start of January and spawn on the Camping Cabins at southwest of riverside

It'll be hard to find food while you are in the middle of nowhere and with a endless snowstorm that will kill your character if you stay outside for too long and get a hypothermia

Along the woods, there are some cabins in which you'll be able to find food, but very few of it

Well, all right, but if you ever feel like having a challenge that should be a good one. You'd have two options on it: head west where there's a small aumount of houses, or go south in direction of the army surplus. I'm sure you could pass it (I recommend using cryogenic winter normal mode rather than hard though)

they aren't that good, they have a slow rate of fire and only hit some zombies in a line, so not really that good when using them will make a horde chase you

Out of the vanilla ranged weapons available, shotguns will surely be the most useful as a backup since they can clear a horde quickly, as they hit a lot of zombies with each shot.

There's a mod called "swap it" btw, having it will allow you to use a 2-handed melee weapon while still having the shotgun on your back. If you switch to the gun, the weapon you had equipped previously will get on your back and you can switch between both anytime

Cars used to be impenetrable barriers since zombies don't attack them. So devs made this addition to fix the issue

Also a lot of those are stat padders and 2nd/3rd line dmg farmers. 2nd lining passively will not net you wins now as it used to, as on the other side there are less players bad enough to give you free damage.

since you’re pretty new, i definitely recommend the 60TP as it’s very easy to play and very forgiving of mistakes. just hide your weak spots in hills and ridgelines. also don’t trust those who say 60TP has a weak ammorack because the ammorack is really small and difficult to hit when you’re in a strong position
