Ho-Ri II just has a better armor profile, not even tier for tier. It's better by direct comparison. The upper plate being 190mm is already stupidly thick given the angle, but the tank can make it auto-ricochet using gun depression. The only practical advantage Ho-Ri III has over Ho-Ri II is that it needs at least 175mm of penetration to deal with frontally, whereas Ho-Ri II needs only 120mm.

@robust orchid you are able to hit the lower plate pretty easily when the hull is more exposed, though low penetration tanks may find about half of that lower plate available to penetrate (the upper half).

But the cupola is almost always an option that the tank can almost never get rid of

It's a rather threatening tank if you're not armored and so nice as to sit out in front of it while it takes its sweet time dumping damage into you, but otherwise, Gravediggers have a hard time being effective in battle.

With buffs from previous updates, it's a good heavy tank with the ability to ram and take advantage of its max speed of 40 kmph. I love that tank. You can even survive tier 8-9 match if you know what you're doing.

How so? The cupolas are paper thin, and there’s a ton of them as well. Ramming isn’t even that good. It’s just an odd gimmick the tank has that might make it enjoyable in several fun modes, but pubs is another story. It has nothing you can properly rely on. The only tank that it’s a problem to is a T49 with the 152mm gun, but pretty much everything not tier VIII or above will run circles around the tank.

There's the turret face and the driver's cupola. Even then, you've given up a slot for an actually useful HT that works upon sound tactics in game for a gimmick of a monstrosity that doesn't have anything to its name except "I ram harder." Out of the 39 VIII HT's it happens to have the 11th highest DPM with it's gun but loses out with only 219mm pen, the armor profile is riddled with weakspots, and it doesn't even have that good of an effective p/w ratio to get to its 40 kph anyways.
