The 12.8 is very workable really, before it got reticle calibration it was a fairly balanced choice between the two. The 12.8 had standard pen and much better accuracy and the 15cm had alpha and prammo pen. After reticle took away one of the 12.8s advantages the 15cm became standard but the 12.8 is still very decent

The issue the 12,8 is that the DPM is complete garbage

With just 2340 DPM, it offers very little advantage over a heavy tank

you need to hug ridgelines, and always be aware of your minimap. Where enemy tanks are, and especially where your teammates are. Don't solo hold areas, since the 61 is made of tissue paper, so typically you'd want other MTs with you that can bait/take shots

Like hts are pushing, then enemy get distracted and i shoot enemy without realising there are another enemy heavy tanks, light tanks, medium tanks.

@silent light Well first off, you need to be a little more careful with your aiming. Especially that shot where you swerved your reticle to the 53TP’s track and missed his hull.

I’d also just be careful about tunnel visioning on one enemy. You never want to be hard focused on one enemy for an extended period of time. You need to constantly analyse the enemy team and your team’s positions. Can your teammates support you if you get pushed? Will I put myself in a crossfire if I push this tank? Just as examples.
There, you tried to chase down and focus the last heavy sitting in mid, but doing that essentially guaranteed your death, as the minimap showed your teammates were not in any position to support you, allowing the grille to just come forward and shoot you in the rear.

The wiggling of your tank is nice, just keep in mind not to turn the hull too much, otherwise it becomes an easy shot for an enemy to penetrate through your side

I think the solution is to make the game 10v10, keep the maximum limit to 4 heavies and reduce the view range of all classes other than light tanks by 50% plus give the medium tanks a buff of 150 DPM.

general advice is to play it as a heavium, if you're not comfortable sidescraping just play hull down in it. Always take improved gear oil + tungsten shells, adrenaline is also recommended for the extra DPM boost. Since the reload of the 45tp is not that bad, you can get 3 shots out with a single tungsten shell consumable w/o adrenaline or premium consumables as well

I'm using improved fuel instead of improved gear oil since it seems to give better boost to stats at the same credit cost. I do try to side scrape and hulldown but the armor just seems to fall apart against tier 8.

they're not mutually exclusive, run improved gear oil + improved fuel + 10% food. Trust me when I say this, but the gear oil is huge.

Your armour will absolutely never work against tier 8s sadly, maybe against MTs with poor pen. Don't rely on your armour, but instead rely on your teammates to take the shots

you can make up for the mediocre pen and accuracy by using its mobility. The 45TP can very much dominate when top tier, but be wary that premium rounds easily pen the upper plate. Playing as a heavium and going on the medium flank is also not a bad idea since the tank is very mobile

Pershing buff is a well derserved one. Its large, its a bit slow (not as slow as Cent I...) And armor isnt great... Gun handling is as good as any other MTs with 90mm gun, but the aim time and dispersion, together with the 2.1K DPM and 180mm Standard pen... Is what made it bad.
