@restive folio it's pretty hard, mostly for newbies or players that aren't used to fat mediums
FCM 50T have only 4 good points and you have to use them correctly:
- Penetration
- Precision
- Gun Depression
- HP pool
You should really avoid frontline or big guns, even if you have 1500 HP, a 150mm gun delete you in 3 shots, meanwhile a 120mm gun does it in 4 shots
The best strategy is take a distance of 70-120mm and try to use your gun depression to hide the giant and weak hull
You can be easily spotted, so be alone isn't an option
You'll need to know a nice knowledge about maps for hide FCM effectively
That's why WG usually puts ideas a tournament season prize, because there's only 2 types of players that will know how to play it well; Medium tank addicts and Skilled players

But vk 100.01 p, mauschen and maus are just, pathetic. They shouldn't be nerfed. They already less armor, a little tilt and angling makes their armor thin and the glacis is just, oof! Also, penetration is below avg. E75 and E100 beat mauschen and maus 1 to 1. Mauschen has pathetic weak spots. WG should buff mauschen and maus penetration. They should live up to their fearful and intimidating status

Yeah the ru having 10 degrees argument is kind of negated by the fact you have to use the side of your tank.
But it is still 10 degrees, and once you play the tank enough, it becomes kind of habit to work around it.
I have both tanks, but I kinda prefer the ru naturally because I have played it a lot. One of the main differences I had to get used to was that the bulldog is quite taller and I believe is a little easier to HE. So I sometimes don’t get away with things that I might have done in an ru

I tried sidescraping with mauschen but unlike vk100, almost everything still managed to pen me, there was one time when a vk100 managed to kill mauschen. I now infamously call vk100 as pichu, mauschen as pikachu and maus as raichu, due to their sheer frailness
The same happened with me. One match in fort despair, we had my mauschen and vk100 on same team (the vk 100 player was nub) so we died. Then next match in vineyards, i was paired with maus and we blocked nearly all damage till we both were last, when a 50 hp progetto 65 killed me and then the maus

You're basically needing a high XP point after the battle meaning you're like aiming for a valiant effort.
I use my 50B to farm damage while conserving my survival if things went bad, or in case of T8 i play 111-1Gft and butter Emil I & II spammers.

Also, trackshots. If you can track someone and do damage, ALWAYS DO IT. You can get a ton of assisted damage doing it, and it wastes the repair kits of others

Oh yeah track shots is underrated, those damage assistance is like great thing other than making you dealing 1 shot worth of alpha, while detracking them gives your team a clear shoot to kill the enemy you detrack.
Sometimes people get that assistance comes from spotting.

Well we just very recently had the e75ts event which is a solid tier 8. You could get the wz blaze right before that event for playing a little above average. You can now earn upto 3 tanks in this month with a guaranteed tank at 39th crate. And if all else fails, is5 is available for 1.5k gold all year round. Easily achievable by watching ads for a month excluding the gold you get for missions and weekly crates.
Tl;dr there are plenty of opportunities to achieve premium tanks while being f2p

And it is not exactly 39 crates. That number is only if you are the unluckiest player on the planet. 5 certificates minimum per crate are guaranteed if progetto doesn't drop. So if you are unlucky, you would end up at 95 of each at 38th crate meaning 39th would give you a tank

@iron galleon Never angle the turret and only angle the hull, even if you turn the turret slightly, some part of it can still be penned, you can fight like a frontline HT due to your phenomenal frontal armor immune to even Tier 9 tanks, but ofc prammo will butter it, but yea its like your usual heavy tank

Both is acceptable, but be aggressive towards mediums and not T9s one but same tiers, lower tiers mediums will be your breakfast.

@iron galleon Well not all chinese tanks are crap, the WZ-120-1 exists, the Type 62 and 59 exists, the 5a exists which is quite a challenging opponent from my experiences, the 112 and 112-2 are also great tanks. Don't judge a tank by its looks, its all in the users playing the tank, not the tank itself

@kind flower You are basically a medium tank when playing the IS8. Your gun is amazing so find as many places as possible to use it, and your turret is bouncy especially when you wiggle a bit. You also have plenty good enough mobility to keep up with meds so you should be running flanks and trying to out-trade as much as you can with your alpha. Your playstyle doesn't really change much against tier 8s or tier 10s, your hull armour is only very slightly troll against tier 8s and your turret isnt strong to to tier 10s, but you have the dpm, alpha and HEAT pen to keep up in pretty much every scenario.

It's like an IS-5 meaning it's sucks not a great tank but workable heavy if you know what you're doing but in the end it'll be outclassed pretty easily by other HTs, the armor isn't that reliable that much when it comes to fighting other HTs.
