Tank concept: Char 2C
Tier 5 French (super) heavy tank

The Char 2C finished development in 1923, too late for it's intended war. It was instead used as propaganda tanks (similar to the Soviet T-35) and as morale boosters. Although some were still operational for WW2, the French valued them too much and kept them away from the frontlines. They never saw combat.

In WoTB, the Char 2C represents the upgraded version of Champagne, later Lorraine. It's armor is significantly upgraded (though not well enough for it's tier), and I did some wot magic to upgrade the gun and speed.

The Char 2C is equipped with a 75mm gun. This gun reloads rapidly at only 4 seconds, but suffers from low pen and damage. Side note: 20° of gun depression and being tall allows the 2C to abuse any ridgeline in the game, although angle must be in mind as the turret only turns 160° left and right.

As an upgraded 2C, it sports 90mm of frontal armor and 65mm of side armor. Although respectable in thickness, it is completely flat and as such can be easily penned by just about any tank it sees. It's abysmal concealment and glacial 25 km/h makes staying alive even harder. Side scraping is the way to go, although it's height and gun depression makes using walls and dead tanks somewhat easier, allowing the player to conceal the hull.

Tank Concept: Char 2C bis
Tier 6 French (super) heavy tank

In 1923, Char 2C Champagne was upgraded in an unusual way: her turret and gun was replaced with a new turret housing a massive 155mm howitzer. This upgrade would not last, and the turret was replaced with the old turret and gun in 1939. As it was, the Char 2C bis never saw combat.

The Char 2C bis is an upgrade of the Char 2C a tier lower. It is a mix of the Lorraine armor upgrade with the Champagne gun and engine upgrade, allowing an overall better tank.

The 2C bis' main feature is ofc the gun: one very massive 155mm short howitzer. As the gun only had HE, smoke and gas shells, I did a bit of WoT magic to give it AP and HEAT shells. It's just like any low tier derp gun: massive damage, glacial reload, and blind as a bat. The left to right limit has been reduced to 100° left and right, and the depression has been kneecapped to only 10°.

Despite the HP increase and new turret, the Armor remains mostly unchanged from the 2C. Sidescraping is much more difficult, although larger tanks mean larger cover. The twin 200 hp engines have been upgraded to 250 hp engines, and although the speed is the same paltry 25 km/h.

Sort of, I own the Grom (T8 Premium on WoT Pc.)
From what I can tell, the tanks are basically heavys or heavyums without a turret.
Can't play them at long ranges because of the damage drop-off, but at close range they are absolutely devastating.
I don't expect them to have the same stats to their Pc counterparts, but just for reference - The Grom has 800 max alpha, 272 standard pen with 3.7k dpm at close range and goes 50 kph with around 17 hp/t power to weight on Pc.

The Grom is one of the more lightly armored ones.
On flat ground the superstructure will be around 230-240, depending on the angle.
Hulldown (7° of depression) it's around 270-280.
The hull is the weakspot, even the upper hull only get's to 230 when full, hulldown. On flat ground it's around 200

So I'd say so somewhat worse than both Foch and Badger, but still formidable if you can hide the hull

If something like the T10 goes hulldown, it's best to stay away from it if you aren't in a Td.
Flat ground, upper structure would be 290mm, fully hulldown about 340+

It would have around 800 alpha AP but have high pen, as it will hesh, hesh should be low in pen (180 ish) but it should deal much higher damage (2500ish) same for HE. Make the gun velocity the worst in the game. That's my idea. Hopefully one day, it will happen! I'm still hopeful

Different tanks, but T-100 has the upper hand in mobility and dpm, I know it is not an efficient way to compare a normal tank to a magazine tank with dpm but it is what it is. Also T-100 is strategically more useful although Batchat gets the upper hand in some maps. Batchats 3 or 4 shell magazines sound great and it's pretty much the better tank for some kinds of combats. But overall I think the T-100 has the upper hand as an 11 year player.

I had an idea for a tank to add but I can't balance it. It's the TH-301 120. Long story short they took the Tamoyo tank (think of a leopard turret on a marder ifv), and they replaced the 105mm gun with a 120mm gun. Here's the issue though, it's the same 120 on early leopard 2 tanks and it only used APFSDS, so I don't know how to balance that out.

Imo, very good.
Your ONLY frontal weakness is the lower plate which you should be able to hide easily. This thing is a demon when you're only poking out your turret, and it has a pretty decent reload for a 120mm gun.

In my hands, this creature has armor working way better than gun.

So yh, works best either when u don't show hull (cause small turret + good armor makes sure u don't get penned) or u just rush and get head in head with the enemy so they can't pen ur lower part of the hull.

Would rate it an 8.5/10 on how it feels for me - feels like a T8 Maus pretty much.

E100 is just good all round heavy, good hp amount, good enough armor, troll tracks (can bounce easiest shots), average mobility. 460 alpha gun has insane levels of dpm for a superheavy and 660 alpha can just chonk damage. best tank from trades
also easiest tech tree to grind

Foch 155 has kinda insane armour compared with great mobility. 600 alpha gun is good for trades, when 2x 500 gun can be amazing in most scenarios for good damage output
kinda meh tech tree, but for a great reward.

E50M is a best all round medium tank - great armor for a medium, great mobility, great gun. it just feels amazing.

13 75 is for the flank potential, scout and ambush attack while the 13 M24 is more of hybrid, it's more slow and has better holding capabilities, the gun isn't too accurate but the 13 M24 can get some unexpected bounces while the 13 75 you have to use spall liner since it doesn't have any armour.

Just a great time to learn that paper statistics are not always indicative of a tank’s performance in battle

It has very little to no worthwhile armor so you generally don’t want to frontline in the tank

Flank the enemy to get at their weaker armor

Don’t poke out to shoot the enemy when they’re aiming at you

Don’t trade with the enemy unless securing a kill because you will almost always lose trades with your low alpha damage

That's the thing about the Ho-Ri Type III, high pen gun. So it's a big NO.

Plus there's little alpha penalty when you use the premium ammo

Then Ho-Ri is just like any tank destroyer. It has to redeem something that made it stand out from the rest and having 310 mm AP pen is something for Ho-Ri Type III. Plus there's less need to use premium ammo.

The only tank that shares the same AP pen is the FV 215b (183) also at 310 mm.

It's like talking to a brick wall at this point. It's there to keep the Ho-Ri Balanced. No elevation and depression, unreliable armor, and it even has reactive armor consumables to compensate for that.

We've already told you why, but the words keep flying over your head and you keep running your mouth, eating your own words with counterarguments that contradict your main point.

It can't frontline because it'll get obliterated after being spotted immediately, it can't spot either because of bad mobility and spotting range, and it can't soak damage because of low HP and unreliable armor.

The premium AP is there for a reason. You might as well tell us to give it no armor at all at this point because the gun is literally the only redeeming factor of the Ho-Ri.

Tbf, the Ho Ri isn't a weak T10 by any means, I personally see it somewhat in the upper 3rd in terms of capability.
The tank itself isn't overpowered by any means though.
It has a bit of armor that can bounce some shots, but isn't hard to penetrate if the enemy loads prammo, as it is a Td, it doesn't have the most hp as well. The only thing that helps that for a short period is the reactive armor.
Mobility wise, the tank is decent for what it is, but won't break any records.
The only really good thing about the Ho Ri is the gun with its pen and low damage drop-off for prammo.
All in all, the gun balances out the other weak aspects so that the tank still performs with solid results and has some potential, but isn't game breaking or overpowered compared to others in the same class or with similar playstyle.

You always have to consider the tank as a whole, not just single aspects. In my eyes, the tank is just fine as it is and doesn't really require adjustments.

The jag loses a 3rd of its dpm for firing gold 183 loses like 70mm of pen and gains a chance to splash someone for no damage when firing gold they’re both annoying but nothing that can’t be outplayed

Jag has 800hp damage for its 170 mm gun. 183 has 950 hp and HESH. They are different playstyles.

For comparison, the Ho-Ri only has 560 hp alpha for its 150mm gun. The 268 has 680 hp alpha for its 152mm gun.

50 less would drop the dpm about 300 units, 100 less would drop it down to atound 2700, which is 600 less than it currently has
That's more than a whole shot per minute and at that point, the 263 would just be a better choice in my eyes

Of course it wouldn't hurt anyone. Anyone you're shooting at. You made it only have 460 hp alpha. That can low roll to only around 300 hp of damage.

In PC, the alpha damage of premium ammo in some or most tanks is the same as the standard ammo. The only nerf you can get is negative credits for losing.

Personally, I don't only use prammo on the Ho Ri, it's still a little advantage to have that bit of extra alpha for some targets
