Like a light first of all, the things got great camo. It’s small size makes it hard to hit from a distance as well. If you are poking an enemy from behind a wall pull out backwards as if you were sidescraping. It has a rear turret that can’t rotate 360 so poking another way is putting you at a disadvantage. Also consider side hugging.

@late thistle Actually, yeah, the British tech tree tier 8 + plays fairly similar to AX (and actually tech tree Caern is better than AX in every way)

The mobility profile across Caern, Conq, and FV is pretty similar, and they all have similar armor profiles (although FV's rear mount turret takes some time to get used to) and they're all good for DPM. Honestly, after 9.1, I'm inclined to call the Brit heavy line one of the best in the game

the caern simply is worse, the action x has turret armour and the same mobility. the caern's hull armour is non-existent. I just don't think the alpha dmg increase makes up for the loss of armour. The AX is maybe slightly worse than the shark, but not by much. id say its better than the 252 as the 252 struggles on any map that isn't a brawling map (close range maps) due to its poor gun handling. it also has worse dpm and less workable armour.

Action X doesn't even have an armor advantage. Neither turret holds up to prammo, and both are easily penned if the enemy is allowed to get good aim on it.

All you need the turret to be good for is just good enough to be resistant to snapshots. That said, the tech tree caern has some massive advantages. 300 extra DPM, extra alpha, and reactive armor just make it so much better in a fight. And since both tanks have low alpha, that close combat scenario is what matters.

Otherwise I agree the caern seems better, even though i think it's the lowest WR for a tier eight heavy, also I agree with 53 tp being superior to the OBJ 252 even though they're different styles of tank, but how is the t32 superior to the t54e2? They're both pretty similar hull down, but T54e2 has much better hull armour as far as I can tell, which allows it to brawl and facehug, unlike the t 32 where prammo can pen its upper plate fairly easily, also I think the lower plate is easier to hit on t 32 further limiting its brawling capabilities, but I could be wrong about that

Well, interesting you think it’s so good, most people say it’s really bad, however the dpm is pretty avg with a 7 secs reload (correct me if I’m wrong) the prammo pen is good however that’s to balance out the sub par AP pen, gun handling is pretty mediocre I’m pretty sure, maybe good on move dispersion but otherwise pretty avg stats from what I remember, the depression and turret are the strong point of the tank, but the mobility is pretty bad

That's the only thing it's good for. Bullying low-tier, low-pen enemies. The gun is bad, the mobility is eh, the armor is not too effective. If you want an IS-style tank, i'd go with either IS-3, 53-TP or WZ-110, although the latter one is a bit different.

The best tier1 is the CruiserII, but the British tech tree isnt really beginning friendly; i'd suggest you to grind the german E100, the USA T57H or the European (swedish) Kranvagn

The swedish strv m42 from the eu line is pretty good, it has an above avarage gun and -15 gun dep giving it an edge in hulldown; the pz IV g from germany is a jack of all trades master of nothing;
M4 aherman from usa has an avarage gun trollish turret and -12 gun dep

Some tanks share modules, most shared modules are guns and engines, if you press the detailed tab by the stats you can check the exact name of the module and see if the next tank shares those modules, although tanks don’t share track modules
