"Collision damage" appears to be handled similar to ramming damage. The force depends on the mass of the tank and it's speed. The T-100 is light and was rotating but not going terribly fast against the rock. It did not hit squarely; much of the force would have gone into the slide-up.

The T-100 was very lucky. Everything lined up just right for a no damage collision.

I believe @vivid eagle is mistaken, the extra damage was not from a ground collision; an enemy tank would have had to hit you from pretty high up at about the 4:00 or 5:00 position (behind and to the right) to do that using the slope you were on — and with a quite large/high-impetus round which could have dealt most of the ~1k damage by itself, no need for collision. Judging by the enemy markers when you look back towards the end of the clip, that 494 was dealt by Rinoceronte, who looks to have been at about the same elevation at the time, maybe even a bit below you. If you slowly scrub over the 2.6s mark, you'll see there were indeed two impacts (see attached frames) — Rino's shot only damaged your fuel tank, followed by something that killed your driver, damaged the turret ring, and destroyed the engine. In my experience, the vast majority of object collisions (ground, train tracks, tank corpses) hard enough to deal HP damage will also destroy one or both tracks in the process.

Based on that precedent (and after replaying the clip like 20 times to confirm map positions/movement) my guess is that the enemy Jg.Pz. E 100 just barely missed with an HE shell, but was still able to deal 562 splash damage because of Tungsten Shells.

Also, regarding the LT-100 clip: yes, I probably would have expected some kind of collision damage based on your POV in the moment. However as Din explained, there's a sort of "force threshold" that determines whether terrain will deal collision damage... and because that impact was offset so much, rather than coming to a complete stop the LT-100's momentum was simply redirected into rotation and a slightly altered trajectory.

That's why some don't take wr at face value, look at other stats too or want to see some actual battles. The reality may be worse - or better - than it looks.
