it's always hard to say this or that to these types of questions since they depend on so many factors you only learn to recognize after playing for years. I just look at the teams and their tanks, make a call on what they're likely to do and take it from there.

I personally almost always play the medium side on himmelsdorf if I can, because I hate getting stuck in a brawl

but I'm not much of a heavy player, I've been playing mostly meds (and 268) for a good while now.

But there is no wrong side to play really, you just need to consider what is gonna be the most effective strategy to win and support your team. I wouldn't drive my E100 around the med side just to flank because it's so slow, so most I can say is learn how people play different tanks and what you can expect them to do and make an informed guess as to where you'll be needed

later on, WG split from russia and russian players stopped using the steam client/WG servers
then covid ended, so its not as harsh of a dropoff due to the game itself, its more of the secondary effects of the events around it

When i first started, garage slots were under 10, it was a bit hard as it meant you couldnt just keep your good tanks, and being low tier, many got sold very fast. After about 20 you have pretty much got the space to grind and recover from grind with the pile.

Um... no, doing 1.5k dmg on tier 7 gives you the same amount of exp than doing 1.5k dmg in tier 10, there is nothing different about that. Lower tiers have lower exp thresholds for gun marks because it is just much more unusual to do 3k dmg in tier 7 than it is to do 3k dmg in tier 10.
